Aloha Discount Wine & Liquors

Super friendly, great service and prices. Filled my growler there yesterday with oatmeal stout. Awesome and great to have a filling station there.

Very nice and clean store, We were picking up some beer for a visit to a friends house a rather large selection of small breweries. but as is the norm IPA after IPA after IPA. I of course notice that because I am not a fan of IPAs. this is not a problem of Aloha, It is more market driven I suspect. We will defiantly be back when in the need keep up the good work…

They had my favorite wine for ¹⁄₃ of the price. No one else had the wine or even offered to order it for me in all of Gardnerville & Carson. Nice people, nice inside, nice prices. Best liquor store around for sure. Everywhere else is grungy & crap selection.

Scenario: You need booze and you need it badly. However, in this era of outspoken individuals thriving on individualism you’ve broken free from the social norm. You, like everyone else, think of yourself as a sophisticated drinker who has an acquired taste for something a bit more fancy than Coors Lights and cheap boxed wine. At this point, I know what you’re saying, «but Joel, I like some SUPER fancy stuff and nobody around here carries it.» My response: Quit whining. Aloha has it you little booze snob. Now go give them your money.

My husband and I have always tried to support local businesses. We have also always loved the selection and customer service at Aloha.
But… The reason for one star, which would be zero if that were an option:
On New Years’ Eve, my husband went in looking for an «inexpensive» bottle of champagne. He said «inexpensive», not «cheap». An employee pointed him in the right direction. However, the female owner said (loud enough for my husband to hear) that my husband should «take his business elsewhere»!
Rather than attempting to up-​sell my husband, as any effective salesperson should, the owner was completely inappropriate! My husband is very laid-​back and I’m glad I wasn’t there because I would have definitely made a scene. This RUDE owner has lost our business and we will never recommend Aloha again.
It was good advice — believe me, we will be taking our business somewhere else.

Although I would have preferred to visit his store in person, he helped with a perfect birthday gift for my brother who lives in Incline village. This New Yorker is so impressed with the service she received from Aloha that those of you who live in the Carson City area are lucky to have such a great place to shop with expert help and a really nice guy. I totally loved this liquor shop! They have a great variety of drinks and all the beers are already cold. It’s by far the best one I’ve been, service is good, place is charming, you find all you want and more!

These guys are awesome! If you’re looking for something obscure they probably have it. They carry some really hard to find stuff! The staff is helpful and the prices are reasonable. Love it!

Holy crap! Awesome selection of beer and wine. Tons of local beers: High Sierra Brewing, Mammoth Brewing, Great Basin Brewing, 6 Rivers Brewing, etc. Lots of Belgian beers, Dogfish, Eel River Brewing, Lost Coast, and even New Zealand beers. Talk about a diamond in the rough. We were traveling back from Virginia City and stopped by this place on the way home. Man, I wish I had a flatbed truck to take home all the stuff I wanted to try. It’s only about a mile away from the famous bunny ranch. So next time you’re traveling through Nevada for a rub and a tug, you gotta stop by this beer store to pick up some hard-​to-​find ales.

Came in the other day to buy some port for a friend of mine who said he liked it. I had no idea what port was, other than some kind of alcoholic beverage which I never drink. The proprietor was kind enough to share his extensive knowledge of the drink, explain the difference between ruby and tawny, and guide me towards a successful purchase. What impressed me was that he not only knew about his beverages, but he knew how to explain it, and knew when to stop when my eyes glazed over. I like this place.

After looking for years, Aloha (Greg) found elusive spirits in a day. Aloha knows and understands the alcohol industries and can make them work for you.

Big fan. You can get some kegs there and special order different keg types. The selection of what you can order is good but not everything you can order is going to be in stock. You can get your growlers filled at a special tap with about 5 special beers on tap.
The policy on kegs is that if you want to take a keg, you fill out a deposit form and pay $ 50 for the keg in your possession. Anytime you bring a keg back, you are basically even steven. You don’t get your $ 50 until you are done using the kegs and don’t want another one. So the deposit is ongoing as long as you are using the keg. I’ve seen it done other ways where you pay for the keg plus beer, then you take back the keg and take your deposit cash. This way is actually better if you are a frequent keg user.
Now the liquor, wine and beer is interesting there too and you can spend all day looking at the types, also you can buy gifts and wine accessories, so I think anyone coming in will probably leave happy.
For those with simple tastes, you can get your Millers and your PBR here too. I’ve noticed that Aloha is within walking distance to different apartments and I’m sure have much foot traffic just wanting a 6 pack of beer for the evening.
I should say that the staff are really cool and knowledgable and just let you shop and leave you be if that’s what you want, or if you want to ask questions, you’re going to be amazed at what they know about their business. I’ve asked for special stuff a few times and a few times I felt like I got special treatment just because, well they’re just cool like that!

This place has a great selection. Its so clean and organized inside and has great prices!
They carry a sherry that I can only find at one liquor store between San Jose and San Francisco. Unexpected.
From the outside I expected some nasty, ghetto liquor store.
Definitely a great surprise. A hidden gem in a random location.

These place rocks! Great beer section and ever better wine selection. Greg (the owner) really knows his stuff when it comes to wine. If you have questions about wine just ask Greg, he’s the has the answers.

L-​O-​V-​E this place. Every time I go in here I end up spending a lot of time in front of the cooler trying to make a decision on which beer to buy. They have an amazing selection of beer (and wines for that matter) which you will not find anywhere else in Carson. Awesome place to go if you are feeling like trying something new.

This place doesn’t look like it from the outside, but it has an amazing selection of bourbons, and some of them are a lot cheaper than you’d pay for them in the Bay Area. I was very surprised and impressed by this store. Nice wine selection, too. Definitely the best place in Carson, Carson Valley, or Tahoe that I have found.

What can you say when you find the perfect combination in a liquor store? Aloha Liquors has got it all; great selection, reasonable prices, friendly knowledgeable staff, and a desire to please ALL their customers. This place is a veritable candy store for adults.
My husband dabbles in adult mixology and more often than not we’re lacking some «key» ingredient. Aloha has always got (or will get, if available) that missing ingredient.
I could go on and on, but there’s really not much else to say about this gem in Carson City that hasn’t already been covered by Kara V, Scuba Steve or Tom M.
If there was a rating higher than five stars, Aloha Liquors would have it. This place rocks.

So your in Carson City Nevada and need to find that unique bottle of «adult beverage» for a party you are heading to or… well, because you want to get all liquored up for whatever reason you choose.
Aloha is located in South Carson, near highway 50 and U.S. 395, which is also dangerously close to a bowling alley… Go figure booze and a bowling alley close to each other, who would have thunk that one up… The staff greets you at the door with a big «aloha» making you wish you were in Hawaii getting aloha’d and lei’s there, rather than in the high desert of Northern Nevada.
The selection at Aloha for wine and spirits is great and it is also fairly reasonably priced. They do carry some unique wines from California that you can’t find on every shelf in town, as well as some nice spirits.
They also have tastings of wine and spirits on Fridays in the afternoon /​evening which is pretty cool. Give em a try if you are in South Carson and in need of some adult libations…
