History

Established in 1949.

Carson Tahoe Health evolved from Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare, which was originally known as Carson Tahoe Hospital, founded in 1949.

Carson Tahoe has been meeting the needs of our community for decades, and while a lot has changed since we first opened our doors in 1949, one thing hasn’t — our commitment to providing exceptional healthcare to our region in a state-of-the-art, healing environment that puts patients first.

Today, Carson Tahoe Health has evolved into a progressive, technologically advanced healthcare leader in northern Nevada. We’ve set new standards in services — including women and children’s, cardiac, rehabilitation, surgical, outpatient and cancer services — and we’ve made recruiting top doctors a priority. In fact, our hospital medical staff has grown to over 240 board-certified physicians representing more than 35 medical specialties.
