We are always looking to purchase quality used books, both individual books and whole collections.

History

Established in 2012.

Morley’s Books was originally an online-only store opened in 2006 as Carson Valley Books.

In January 2012 Carson Valley Books became an open book shop located in the Sweeney building at 201 West King Street (corner of Curry and King) in the Carson City Historic District. The shop was renamed Morley’s Book’s at this time after it was helpfully pointed out to me that Carson City was actually in Eagle Valley, and not Carson Valley.

The Sweeney building, built in 1864, has a colorful history, and the shop displays many photographs of the building at various points in time. Some features of the original construction have been preserved or restored, including a tin ceiling.
