My sister and I took a wild baby bunny that we had found while walking or dogs, that was barely alive, covered in maggots, and on the verge of dying… They refused to humanely euthanize because we didn’t have any means to pay (nobody takes their wallet walking) and because they didn’t treat wildlife…

come here for my iguana and my toy Pomeranian. They have very affordable prices comparing to other places. I have brought my iGGY for yearly check ups and broken bone X-​rays and meds. I have also had my pom chipped here and neutered. I love the care and prices. These doctors thoroughly explain procedures and side effects as well as give you options to take care of your loved pet. I understand they are not open after hours for emergencies. Very courteous staff

This animal hospital doesn’t deserve any star!!! Or doesn’t even deserve to exist! My dog got run over and needed immediate surgery or care. But the front desk told me it’s too late and that they were closing! They also asked for money first before we could start with the paper work!!! I watched my dog die.
This animal hospital needs to be out of business before it could hurt more animals! DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HeRE!!!

I have been bringing my pit bull here for years. The staff is always nice and I couldn’t be happier with the results from her cancer/​tumor removal surgery and treatment, as well as her knee ligament replacement surgery and recovery. I found that they could competently answer all my questions, and give me the right advice and instructions for a speed recovery.
I drive about 10 miles each way to continue to go there for shots and checkups every year because of the service and prices. Don’t let the older building fool you, this place has been here for a lot of years for a reason. They do great work!!! Thank you to Dr Sarantha and the entire staff.

Is there such thing as half a star? My puppy recently have been throwing up and having some diarrhea problem the last 2 days so I called in to make an appt today to see what was wrong. Met the physician, told them what happened, fill out some paper works and wait for the doctor to arrive. When the doctor arrived, I explained again the situation and he suddenly assumed my dog has this and that without even examing or even listen to his heart yet. He then told me which he assumed what the dog have, and have the clerk give me a run down what what they are going to exam and the costs of it. Of course I could careless at that moment because I want to find out. The clerk did 3 exams, two diff stick to check the poo and something else which came out to be $ 100. The doctor then came back and said my dog is positive for Parvo virus and explained the whole procedure and treatments that needed to lower the virus. The whole process came out to be $ 900, or $ 1500 if he need to stay more than 2 nights. I thought this was a joke and very rediculous! He didn’t even do shit to my dog and expect me to pay him up to $ 1500?! I could barely understand what he was trying to say! I then said no because im sure other Vets don’t even cost this much. He then had the clerk come back to me and offer me some lower procedure, meds to take for home care since i didn’t want my dog stay over night. Same shit the bill came out to be $ 300. I then said no and went to look for another Vet. I was in a rush to look for a near by Vet and only saw one Unilocal on this place, boy i need to do more research next time. I took my dog to the Harbor Vets in torrance, which was my first Vet for my dog deworm, and told them what happened. I came back to Harbor because they were very professional and care for your pets. Anyways, the cost came out to be $ 600 for the treatment and stay 1 day overnight (so far) down the street from that Vet, $ 150. Money can be an issued but at least i know my baby is in a good hand.

They really don’t desrve any star and I compleaty agree they tramtized my two dogs and only care about the money and not helping the pets. I took my male chihuahua to remove his stiches even though I was unhappy with them I really did not think that they would be extreamly unprofessional to my dog but they could not get him to show where he had his stich and so they took him to the back and they dug into him where the stich was and cut it off along with a layer of skin.

These people don’t deserve a single star. I’ve come here for years out of convenience. But thanks to their botched surgery on my chihuahua I will never come here again!
The vets are not friendly with your loved ones. I have never been told to muzzle my dog before he even began to growl. I learned that this is not an isolated occurrence.
The staff lied that my little boy had been eating after his surgery. Interestingly enough he was returned to me skin and bones. He then refused to eat the food he had supposedly been eating in the office.
The staff is also very rude. They feign ignorance to prevent you from buying medicines or special food from other options such as PetSmart or 1800PetMeds.
Honestly their office is so small, old, and ill equipped, I can’t imagine why I continued to bring my dogs here in the first place.
Please do yourself and your babies a favor, DON’T EVER COME TO THIS ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!!

I took my shelter rescue here for his first visit and it went smoothly. I feel like their physicals dont amount to much, just temp check, a little look and weighing. Well the first was free so I guess I cant complain too much about that. However after my pup took the meds he became anorexic. He refused to eat and drink and he was losing a lot of weight. I called their clinic so many times freaking out and they kept reassuring me its just a side effect, feed him yogurt. Well I guess they never felt the pain of seeing a little pup starve himself and reject even his favorite bacon treats for potty training. I then took my pup to another vet for second opinion days a week or so later. After fecal testing, we found out he had parvo and he has been suffering this entire time. I am extremely dissatisfied with their expertise and the way they just shrugged off my several concerned calls. If something is wrong with your pet, I dont suggest going here!

Absolutely atrocious place! I brought my dog in with a limp and all they did was give him a pain-​killer and charge me $ 300 for more painkillers that I never asked for.
I brought my dog back a week later for x-​rays and they claimed that he wouldn’t hold still for them; so they had to sedate him, but the sedation had no effect and they tried to charge me for that and extra x-​rays.
At the end of the day, no x-​rays, no solution, nothing. Just wasted my time and traumatized my dog (who later tried to bite a vet at Banfield, but they said he behaved very well when they took his x-​rays).
Stay away from Avalon Animal Hospital unless you want to be ripped off! They are worse than a bunch of thieving mechanics!
