Doula (doulē) originated as an ancient Greek term meaning «woman who serves». In recent years the meaning has expanded to include a woman who provides continuous informational, emotional and physical support.

As your Doula, my purpose is to «mother the mother», to hold space during the most transformative moment in your life, which is during the process of childbirth. My wish for each mother is to become empowered by her birth and have a gratifying birth experience filled with bliss for her and her family.

My goal is to assist women in following their unique birth plan to achieve the birth of their baby, their way. I will be a constant support person throughout the entire labor, consoling, reassuring and assisting you through the birthing process. Also to continue to «mother the mother» following the birth, with postpartum care that is therapeutic and healing. Unlike health care professionals, such as nurses, midwives and doctors, I do not provide medical care.
