It’s not the worst place I have had insurance but this business appears to be short staffed. I have noted that whenever there were transactions that needed to be done in person there appeared to be only 1 person who was doing all the work. Signing up is easy but any transaction after that can be a hassle. If your not on their side on matters then it’s the highway with these guys. If you want to cancel a policy or change a policy be prepared to repeat yourself multiple times. Also make sure you figure out everything yourself since there are «hidden fees» that may be attached to your bill. I felt like there was a disconnection because the agent was too busy and that often I would get ignored.
Sometimes the business feels a little bit too automated. Meaning that if there is a dispute it is often solved by the main agency rather than dealing it directly with the broker. I have seen an honest mistake made but sometimes it feels as if it can get unprofessional between an agent and Mercury insurance.
There is one positive and that is it’s cheaper compared to other agencies. If you just want insurance to satisfy the law’s requirements but have a name brand on it then it’s decent.
