Our family and I were looking for a place to eat on Father’s Day and we knew that most restaurants would be packed, so we decided to go to Subway next to our church. As my husband and I parked grandpa had changed his mind and decided to go to Tony’s barbecue place instead, which is walking distance from Subway. I wasn’t super happy because I was looking forward to eating something fresh and healthy because I’m 9 months prego. The place from outside didn’t seem to be what I was looking for; However, I was proven wrong and pleasantly surprised ! Although it was small in size, it accommodated our family of 10 comfortably and the service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious! They make all their meat on the grill at the time is ordered and their philosophy, as stated on a sign, is to always provide fresh meals with no frying involved. They also substitute regular rice for brown rice for no extra charge ! The highlight of our lunch for me was eating their freshly made bibingkan. I’m so glad I found this gem! I highly recommend the place if you into budget friendly, fresh, delicious food.

I love the jumbo squid and the liempo meal in this place, the only –1 star is sometimes they overcooked the liempo which is not really nice. But overall i like this place.

Service is so bad. The girl with the short hair who took my order was so rude. She gave me an attitude because I asked how many more mins for my togo order to come out??? It took 30 mins for the food to come out. I only ordered one dish and some people came after us ordered 4 different things. There’s came out first before my order. It didn’t make sense at all. Bad service.

I LOVEFILIPINOFOOD! This was my first try of BBQ and it was amazing. I had the pork belly plate. LOTS of food for an amazingly reasonable price. Java rice with sauces poured on top was delicious. Meat was cooked until caramelized and crisp. Soup was hot and fresh PLUS bibingka warm from the oven. I’m in heaven! My friend’s squid was bomb as well. Wish I lived closer!

Went here and ordered salmon belly lunch special. I paid $ 9+. I was really really hungry. Waited for 30 mins. I kept asking where is my order? Orders keep coming up except mine. Their response was«go H it really takes a long time to cook it». If it will take more than 30 minutes they should have asked me if I’ m willing to wait. They just took my payment and later on told me it rakes more than 30 minutes. I just threw the receipt and left. I was so upset. I give this restaurant below 1 star for bad service.

A must when in the mood for grilled fish, pork and beef! And they cook to order, so I would recommend calling in first to pick up the food when in a hurry.

I really like their java rice. The sauce is also delicious. However I think it is a bit too stingy for minimum $ 10 credit card. Be prepared to wait for your food but I guess it’s a good sign that they cook it for order.

I really enjoy Tony’s. The people are awesome, and everything is cooked fresh to order. Their salmon and tuna are always tasty, and their BBQ sticks are excellent. One of my favorite places to eat in Carson.

Its Mediocre Monday again!!! I had a Flip food craving, and I happened to be in the area so I stopped by. Tony’s is on Carson & Bonita in Carson, in the same strip mall as sitdown restaurant, DJ’s Bibingkahan. Tony’s offers Filipino BBQ plates, with liempo(grilled pork belly) being the signature dish, and bibingkinitan(mini bibingka) being the namesake dessert. The plates comes with egg drop soup, java rice & atcharang papaya, and range from $ 7 to $ 9. In addition, they offer small portions in the form of bowls for about $ 5. Lastly, they also offer ube and macapuno bibingkinitan, but it takes a while to prepare. So order in advance if you don’t want to wait. I ordered the liempo($ 7.39) and one bibingkinitan($ 1.95). The liempo platter was pretty good. There was a lot of pork belly for the price. In addition, the portion of rice was large. However, the pork belly was not that tender, and the rice was a bit greasy: 3 Stars. Secondarily, the bibingkinitan was OK too. I really didn’t taste much coconut, but everyone has a personal preference on these should taste based upon what they grew up with. I prefer the bibingka at Valerios or Red Ribbon: 3 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, Tony’s is a very small place with no restroom: 3 Stars. Nonetheless, be aware of inconsiderate people in this mall. For example, this manong(Flip FOB) was supah rude. I went outside to get something in my car, but I left my full cup of water, napkin & utensils on one of the tables. The place was empty, but the manong sits at the same table as my cup. When I said something to him, he acted like he didn’t understand. So in my limited tagalog, I said putanginamo(which translates to something about your mother, or in slang it means f you). However, he still didn’t move. How fukn rude! In addition, the parking lot is a free for all. Can you imagine FOBs driving amok in a parking lot? I had to honk at two people for rude or reckless driving. On the other hand, the service was OK. The cashier was nice and thanked me as I left. But the food took a while to come out despite me being the only person besides the manong in the place: 3 Stars. I’d come back if I was in the area for an inexpensive meal. However, I would not come here during peak hours because I might get in a fight! LOL

Ordered the liempo. Crispy and the peanut sauce really gave it a good flavor. Went to Philippines recently though, just doesn’t match up but a good alternative. Get a bingka to wash it down.

Never really had Filipino BBQ before coming to Tony’s but damn I have been missing out this whole time. My favorite dish is the grilled Liempo which is Pork belly that is grilled to perfection. The BBQ sauce is very bold and tastes really good with the Liempo. The liempo meal always comes with java rice and pickled papaya which is also a good add on for the meat. The most note worthy item on the menu is the bibingka’s. Babingkas are a Filipino type of rice cake desert that is made from coconut milk sugar and butter. They can either come with purple yam or coconut. They are sold individually or by the dozen. If you plan on actually eating a babingka’s you better call 45 minutes ahead of your arrival because they are made to order and come out of the oven scorching hot.

The food is definitely good. The leche flan is so creamy. The only con about this place is the dinning area is so small and cramped.

Freshly made BBQ. Not under any heated lamp. Made when you order Ample parking spaces but crowded during lunch and dinner times Friendly counter staff Small but clean environment Limited dining tables Freshly made bibingka(sweet rice bread) If you do not like long waits, best to call your order in. Even if you plan to dine there.

BOMB. Okay, so I’ve actually never been here before… But my mom is seriously their #1 fan though! Every time she texts me saying she has food for me, I already know. It’s Tony’s BBQ. She always brings home at LEAST3 boxes of their BBQ chicken with rice. It comes with this amazing sauce to dip it in and some concoction I’m not really sure what it is. Ginger? Papaya? Has this nice vinegar-y taste to it. Aw man, a spoonful of all of the above creates this sort of explosion in your mouth. SO. GOOD. Maybe one of these days I should actually pay a visit to this restaurant myself to see what else it has to offer!

I’ve eaten here a few times in the past week. I was working at a location down the street. I wanted to find some neighborhood food that was pretty good for my staff. I found it! I’m a foodie, and into new places, and I’m glad I chose Tony’s BBQ vs DJ Bibikan. This is not the BBQ you expect. It’s basically the Asian rice bowl, with vegetables and or meat. This is delicious stuff though. I got a bowl and took it back to work one day when everyone else went safe with Subway. The smells and tastes convinced everyone that this would be our place to eat the remainder of the week. We ate inside(there are about 5 to 7 tables) and we took it to go. Everything was delicious! Between my staff and I, I think we tried everything and everything except that dessert was delicious. Staff was nice as well.

The best bibingka I’ve had in my life even compared to the ones I’ve tried IN the the Philippines! The bibingka is smaller than usual. After eating one piece, I had to have another. I felt like such a pig — but hey, they are small! One of my all time favorite baked goods to eat. It’s sticky texture made with rice instead of a cake which is the kind of bibingka I prefer. I also ordered the pork belly with java rice to go which I devoured on my drive home. The only negative is that they don’t have a restroom. I now have an excuse to stop by Carson more often every time I pass by on the 405. If you’re a fan of bibingka, this is worth the drive even if you live all the way in the Valley because there’s nothing like this!

I’ve passed by Tony’s Barbecue and Bibingkinitan many times when visiting my regular restaurants like DJ Bibinkahan, Poke Etc and Subway which are all in the same plaza, but had not tried it out yet so decided to change that a couple of days ago. Upon entering I was prompt greeted and saw that it was a pretty small place with about 6 or 7 tables out of which 3 were occupied making the place feel very full. After perusing the menu on the wall behind the counter, I went with the grilled bangus meal($ 7.89) which comes with java rice and soup and also got a couple of Bibingka’s($ 1.65 each). I could pay with a debit card without any charges, but I’m not sure if there are any minimums or if credit cards have some usage charge as the chirpy girly behind the counter did not explain it to me in detail but cut it short saying you will not be charged, so check before running your card. All food is prepared to order so I was expecting a long wait but surprisingly I had my order to-go in just about 10 minutes. Taste wise it was excellent. The bangus was grilled perfectly. Java rice did not have overwhelming flavors and tasted right. Soup with the meal was average egg drop soup that you get in chinese restaurants. The staple Philipino desert bibingka which is a spongy rice flour cake baked in a banana leaf was the best that I’ve ever had. I’ve tried this in many different Philipino restaurants around Carson and Cerritos and feel that the one I ate here was the best. The sweet flour has a filling of cream cheese along with a sprinkling of salt on top making the desert a wonderful sweet and salty treat. The hot creamy cheese in the middle gave the desert multiple textures within the same bite. Absolutely exceptional. I’ve had better grilled fish but the killer bibingka will draw me like a magnet to Tony’s Barbecue and Bibingkinitan whenever I’m in this plaza.

Fellow Unilocaler Antho and I decided to grab a quick bite to eat Tony’s. This humble little take out place located in the heart of the Filipino community in So Bay is the perfect place if you want to eat and run and at the same time satisfy your craving for some great Bibingkintan(thank Antho for treating me to one). No, I didn’t come here just for dessert; I also had their BBQ Chicken plate — great roasty flavor with a nice Filipino taste. Service was with a smile but otherwise average. My only gripe is they charge for using credit cards regardless of how much your bill was. Next time? Pork Belly for sure
