B&L Towing & Recovery

If only I could I’d give this place negative stars. My car recently got towed by this company, I call in to get it picked up and they tell me to call the next day. Call again the next morning and they told me I have to wait till Monday because their office is closed due to the storm and that they’re also charging me storage for the car. Talk about a fucking robbery. You would think they would atleast waive the daily storage fee due to the weather. Can’t wait till Monday to see how much money they’re going to try to steal from me.

This company is horrific. The staff is rude, inappropriate and scam artists. I was in an accident on the GSP and my car was towed to their shop by default. I called the next day for a release of my car to my auto shop and was told to call back hour after hour and put on hold for a minimum of 15 minutes each time and getting the run around every time. Very unprofessional and have no sense of customer service. Avoid them at all cost!

I am the idiot who ran out of gas. Called AAA who will come for free + cost of fuel. Only problem is my vehicle was a diesel and AAA for some reason will not deliver diesel fuel. AAA hooked me up with B&L. They had the audacity to tell me they would charge me $ 295. + cost of fuel to bring it to me. I called a cab, ran to autozone to buy a can, took me to gas station and back to my vehicle all for under $ 50 including cost of fuel. These guys are highway robbers!!! Thanks but no thanks AAA.

my car spontaneously decided to not to start at the rest stop after getting gas. After calling AAA, the tower arrived and towed me to their garage. From the tower to the owner, everyone was pleasant and professional. I apparently had a fickle sensor that needed to be jingled a little. For that, they didn’t charge me, only for the standard towing that AAA picks up. They had me taken care of with 45mins (call to driving off).

So my car broke down on the Turnpike and they were the ones that were called through AAA to get me. The guy in the truck was pretty nice, and he was pretty straight with me. Told me that i had 3 options, getting towed to the closest road, getting towed to the shop for free, or getting towed to another shop for a AAA discounted rate.
I opted for the free route since i pay for AAA and just had the truck get me at their shop. The lady there thought i needed to pay the 24 dollar fee, but the guy told her i didn’t. Due to the time of day. They were were nice, never had to deal with them for repairs though.

Stay away. These people are total shysters. They have a contract to tow from the Garden State Parkway and NJ Turnpike. If you are involved in an accident they will try to get you to sign releases and authorizations to repair your car. They will play games to stall your insurance company from taking possession of your car in the event of a total loss, the reason being to add on storage fees. I don’t understand how the state of NJ allows them to have a contract. Shady, lying lowlives.

If I could leave no stars I would… I’m responsible for my car… My car is totalled… I did not deem it that way the insurance company did… Can’t get my plates… where is the car going… the insurance company is going to pick it up… I’m the owner… I have no place to live… Where they going to mail plates to… Need to turn the plates into Motor Vehicle… In the meantime the FEE’s for the car is racking up… The young woman said to me «if i take the plates she going to sue me» how about this if that had not been said… I would not have used profanity… First I lost my job in May of last year… I don’t have two nickels to rubber together… But should something happen to those plates and whatever is in my car… You will be held accountable… How about that…
With all do respect… This is rape because the Fee’s on a car that has just been appraised as totolled is racking up… Just so you know I’m not receiving a huge lottery win on my totalled vehicle… Stop telling customers that the insurance company is going to mail them their plates… You the owner of the car must retrieve the plates… because you the owner of your car must turn them into motor vehicle… motor vehicle will give you a receipt… then you must fax a copy to the insurance company as proof the plates are turn in… If you could mail them… Why wouldn’t the insurance company do that step for you… especially for cars that are totallled…
With all do respect… Stop talking that Madness… I will being going to where the insurance company is towing my car to retrieve to my plates (I will physically be there). Eek! I KNOW SO… Your going to ask Mrs. Williams about my life… She doesn’t have permission to discuss my life… Thank you telling her that you had me on speaker and that you and your staff found my current situation funny and that I’m a psycho…
You and your staff have no class or customer service skill set.

These folks suck it. THey probably eat old bubbly hummus out of a goat’s mouth for lunch. No joke — THEY PROBABLY DO!
B&L is one of the select towing companies that can tow a vehicle from the turnpike.
Totally scam artists.
Wouldn’t give me a quote until my vehicle was on their truck.
Required immediate payment before towing which had to be faxed to them with copies of the card and card holders ID.
They threatened that if we couldn’t immediately get them payment through their bizarre system, they would town the truck to their lot and basically impound it and charge us for storage.
Who runs a business like that?
How much do they smell like dirty old tushy?
What business requires the immediate use of a fax machine?
Is this 1990? people still have fax machines out there?
Maybe they would like me to provide them a copy of my ID burnt to floppy disk?
When we get back to their house, I bet there a great collection of lazerdisks there and we can rock out!

Prices seem high. Let’s see how the work holds up. I’m sure the work is good. Hopefully they can work on the pricing. 1000.00 for an alternator tensioner arm and idler pulley and belt sounds a bit high to me… Could be wrong but don’t think so. Otherwise, very clean and professional shop.
