We used Scott’s to make 2 local moves. The first was great so we did it again. Not so good but OK on the second one. So when I got a new job with a long distance move I decided to hire them to load at the local end and then drive it out myself and pay local labor there to unload. It was terrible. I would not use them again if I had to make my own move by handling the furniture from a wheel chair because I was crippled. The did a lousy job estimating space needed and I had to rent an additional truck as well as leave some other stuff behind for later. They did not pad things well and I had much broken and VERY scarred furniture. They took two big chunks out of the top of a $ 1,500 desk getting it out of the house that it went into with no damage… They took furnature apart that did not need to be taken apart. I guess just so they could. I figure about $ 500 damage done to my furniture by them and as a result of their crummy loading of the truck. Then an additional $ 1,800 to my planned move cost because of their lack of space estimating ability — cost for additional truck and for transportation back to area to get car that could not be driven and trailer for additional furniture left behind. My fault — I was not watching close enough. Learned my lesson — only full service moves from bonded and insured movers from now on. Any damage claimed and fixed, etc.
