This is a beautiful store. Lots of colors and batik fabrics. Good selection of children’s fabric too. Examples of quilts through out the store. Staff is friendly. Will make this a favorite of mine

Elegant Stiches is an awesome store! Everyone who works in the store front is extremely kind, personable, and professional. They know far more about fabrics and stitching than I did and left the store feeling much more confident! Locating the store is not difficult for those who are specifically looking for it. No one should expect a huge flashing sign to direct them to the store. My reason for going to Elegant Stitches was to get my sewing machine repaired and they could not have done a better job! Best and really the only reputable sewing a fabric store in the area. Don’t pass it by!

Figuring out how to get to Elegant Stitches is a challenge with all the construction going on at waverly place. Once I figured it out, and made it into the store, I was both impressed and a disappointed at the same time. The store is just the right size for a fabric store. Everything is visible when you first walk in, there’s no tall shelves or displays blocking your line of sight. If you know what you need, you can find it without getting lost in the detritus of things you don’t need and don’t want. The fabrics are separated as near as possible, by colors and pattern sizes, which make pinpointing your destination much easier. On the other hand, there’s still enough here to justify browsing. The staff is helpful without being overbearing. One of my pet peeves in a craft or fabric store is having the employees barely give me time to get my bearings before they start the tag-team following me around asking what I need. It’s almost as bad as ignoring me completely — neither of which is the case here. I was looking for a specific type of fabric pattern for a project I’m working on, and the lady who offered help took me to the exact thing I needed. If that weren’t enough, she also found two other fabric bolts in different colors schemes, equally perfect. Customer service is a five-star experience. The disappointment is a more subtle thing. The store’s vibe, for me, tilts toward quilters rather than classic sewers. Although Elegant Stitches has clothing made from their fabrics hung around the store, the patterns of the fabrics themselves remind me of those in quilts. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it keeps Elegant Stitches from being in first place on my go-to list for routine sewing needs.
