DON’T BOTHER BUYING THE GROUPON…
I purchased the groupon that was for a full set of highlights and a womens cut. I called to speak with JoAnn the stylist because I wanted to ask what the additional price would be if I wanted 2 additional colors of highlights in addition to the one already included in the groupon.
I called several upscale salons and was told it would be $ 5-​$ 10 extra per color because while it is not extra product (still the same amount of highlights just different colors) It does take a little extra time to actual do the 3 different colors.
Well when I spoke to the stylist she said it would be AT LEAST $ 80 extra… she would not explain the pricing to me even though I mentioned that I had called around and gotten quotes from several different salons and when I asked her cancel my appointment because of that she just said «yeah okay» She did not try to address my concern or give me a better understanding of their pricing etc…
To put this in perspective the groupon’s original worth was for $ 150 dollars (what full highlights and a cut cost) add another $ 80 plus tip brings the grand total $ 240 if I leave only a $ 20 dollar tip… I called 5 different salons in the area and they were all way below this price
It was insane and I would recommend if you do go there for some reason and buy the groupon do not tell them you bought it until after you are quoted a price… they seem to jack it up when they know you have a groupon.

JoAnn is my hero! After a stressful week and a head of hair that did not want to cooperate, I made the rash and wrong decision to cut my ponytail… I don’t know what I was thinking but JoAnn was able to fix it and make me look like a person again. She also offered to take the scissors from my hand if I ever had that crazy thought pop in my head again. :) She is also great with naturally curly hair! Thanks JoAnn!

They let you schedule an appointment online, and the rates are clearly mentioned in their website, that’s always a good start.
I got my haircut from Crystal, who listened to me and figured out exactly what I wanted. She also let me know at most points what she was doing with my hair, kinda like a commentator describing intricate plays in sports, very exciting!
And I think I got my best haircut in the US, they have a new regular customer now!

New to Cary and needed to find a Stylist. Lana was great! I will definitely be back, there was a nice welcoming feel to this salon.

I have been seeing Rita at the Salt Box Village location since the first of the year. Rita has done an awesome job on my cut and style. She listens to what I want and the results have been great
according to my friends. Rita is not only a great stylist, she is a wonderful person. I look forward to each appointment because I feel like I am off to see a friend, who just happens to my hair. Oh, friends have also loved the color. And prices are very reasonable!!!

Shannon is the best!!! I have been going to hair designers for just over a year now and love it! I have only ever had Shannon as a stylist/​eyebrow waxer and have not been disappointed. I was actually recommended to this salon by a friend to see a different stylist, but they were out unexpectedly on my first visit, so Shannon fit me in and I never looked back! I have heard good things about many of the stylists here and they do accept walk-​ins. This is definitely the place if you are looking for somewhere convenient (right near Trader Joe’s in Cary), clean, and friendly.
