I didn’t get up this morning with even hints of aspirations to replace a power supply, That honor was thrust upon me when I got to the office and my primary desktop could not be revived. The power supply had expired, peacefully, while it slept.
So, after brief moments of mourning, it was off to Intrex Computers @ Maynard Crossing, where they had a good replacement unit.
Along with that, they had great service, pleasant chit-​chat, and a bit of advice.
All at a very fair cost.
And, none of this was out of the ordinary. I get into the Maynard Crossing store, about a mile from my office, every few months, and always feel like they are glad to see me.

This place is a SCAM. They will NOT return your money. I had to go through my bank in order to get my money back from these people. AVOID

SCAM! AVOID INTREX COMPUTERS AT ALL COST. They will charge you multiple times for a single item. They don’t care about their customers.

I had a great experience with Intrex that I felt compelled to share. To preface my review, I want to state that I’ve worked around computers for years and used to build and service them for a living so have a lot of experience but these days don’t have time for it and just wanted to buy something already made. Needless to say this makes me an educated consumer when it comes to computer buying and really sensitive to any snow job a salesperson might try to pull. I came in wanting to have a media server built. It was to be a system that would mainly just store and serve music/​videos/​pictures to other devices in my house and wouldn’t be used directly for much (I have a Macbook for that). When I went into Intrex, the salesperson took the time to sit and talk to me about my needs and review each component of the build accordingly based on price, power, and upgradeability. Probably ended up taking an hour with me. They had my build finished within a few days and I was extremely happy with the finished product. It has been running solid for over a year. A few months ago I opened the case to add another hard drive and was quite impressed with how cleanly they had built the innards with attention being paid to cable management, etc. I highly recommend this Intrex location and will definitely return for any of my own computer needs.

My husband and I own a small business and Intrex meets ALL of our computer needs. My husband is notorious for not saving receipts. I recently had to call and request detailed receipts and the associate took the time to look them up and email them to me. Thanks INTREX Cary! and TY from our Accountant.

If you are looking for a part same day — this is your place. They have such a good selection. I’ve frequently needed hard drives and adapters same day and they ALWAY have them — even stupid adapters that NO ONE else has — grrrrr
It is conveniently located for people to just zip over. Always in and out quickly. Service is fast and friendly — don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Intrex is an awesome place to buy all of your computer components and electronic parts. I’ve been shopping here for over 5 years now. The best thing about Intrex is that they always seem to have a part that I would normally have to order online. They have parts and accessories that you can’t find anywhere else locally. Its also super convenient to find out if something is available. You can either check the inventory on the website or just call the store. I’ve always had nothing but positive experiences with all 3 of the local stores.

OK, there is nothing cooler than having your hard drive crash and being able to run down the street and talk to real-​live nerds who can and seem to enjoy solving problems like these. Yes, you can order random computer guts online and get them in a few days for a little less, but IN A FEW DAYS. When was the last time it was convenient for you to be without a computer for a few days?
Also you have the added stress of wondering whether you ordered the wrong thing/​size/​version. The guys at Intrex take the mystery out of minor and major computing disasters and have now made it entirely unnecessary for me to ever set foot in another Circuit City. There is a reason they have been reviewed overwhelmingly positively so many times in little ol’ Cary. Yet another reason to move here. Don’t tell a soul.

Ya Can’t Beat Free–
I brought in my PC that did not survive a move across the country. I thought there was a power problem and needed to determine if it was the switch or the power supply. I brought in the tower on a Sunday and they tested both, powered it up and sent me on my way and would not accept payment since the only thing wrong with the PC was ME!
