This is one of those instances where I wish you could give more stars. These guys may specialize in Volvos but they took care of our Toyota Camry … And will get all of our future business! Chris is amazing and really helps you understand pricing, options and long term care. I had every confidence I was getting good information and a great price. Personal, professional and a wonderful experience. It’s always a little painful to pay for a car repair, these guys eased the hurt. I have peace of mind now because I feel like I have a good «doctor» for my cars, which are rapidly turning into «senior citizens»! Highly recommend! They will tell you everything up front and let you decide what you can afford … No pressure!

The only place I go with my Volvo. Great service — Chris and the guys talk you through all the options and really help you take care of your car. It’s the kind of shop that values the relationship with customers and wants to help you get a long, productive life out of your car.

My family and I have been taking our Volvos (3 so far) and now my dad’s Honda here since 2000. The service is always great and well priced. They are flexible about drop-​off and pickup times and will provide a low-​cost rental car if necessary ($ 15 a day, usually). They are very good about explaining exactly what is wrong and they don’t fix things without permission. Often I have taken my car in for an issue and not been able to afford to repair *all* the things, and they’re ok with it. They’re usually pretty quick about the fixes too. The best part in my opinion is that they seem to really care about their customers. A couple times I could not get my car to start or some other issue and they were able to diagnose over the phone (or at least calm me down about it) which is invaluable as I was on the other side of town and couldn’t get to them. Wonderful people here.

These guys are great I have been going to them for nearly 20 years. I have taken my 2 Volvos there and a Honda civic and Honda odyssey. They are always top notch, reliable and trustworthy. I wouldn’t take my cars any place else.

After a bad run of luck with a mechanic in Durham, I took the recommendations of some message boards and dropped my Volvo off at P & A Smith in Cary.
These guys know Volvos. They heart Volvos.
A mechanic in Durham installed a non-​Volvo thermostat in my Volvo and my check engine light kept going off like fireworks on the Fourth of July.
Addie an eager beaver of a Volvo clerk set about the process of filling out all the paperwork with me.
We dropped the car off and a few days later, after a couple test drives, I was able to pick it up.
Problems solved.
These guys did a really good job taking care of the car and the bill wasn’t insanely expensive. Don’t take chances with your Volvo. Take it to P & A Smith, or take it to Volvo directly. You won’t save a few bucks if you spend a lot of time and money with unqualified mechanics.
