Tapas Calpe is a unique blend of a neighborhood wine bar and tapas restaurant within our full service butcher shop Orchard Prime Meats. This old world combination of butcher shop by day, tapas restaurant by night creates a charming and intimate environment that is the perfect place to gather at the end of the day for an exceptional meal or linger over a bottle of wine. Guests are encouraged to explore the wine inventory and select a bottle of choice, bring it to your table and pay only retail price on wines that are $ 17.00 and above. Specializing in Prime Aged Steaks and Beef, Baked Saffron Paella, Slow Roasted Baby Back Ribs, and Spicy Shrimp, as well as our great selection of fine wines and imported cheeses.
History
Established in 2007.
Our butcher shop started in 1982 at Bell’s Apple Orchard of Lake Zurich. Priding itself on its strong heritage of selling only fresh, quality meats like Nick’s father and grandfather did when their store was located in Chicago, our store remains synonymous for its selection, quality, and expertise. The relocation of our store to downtown Cary allowed us to expand our offerings and provide a wine shoppe. in 2007, Tapas Calpe opened to provide the far northwest suburbs of Chicago with a dining option with a strong Spanish and Mediterranean Tapas cuisine. Inspired by the beautiful coastal city of Calpe, Spain, the culture at Tapas Calpe is an informal, communal yet elegant way of eating. Our identity is defined by this authentic and casual European approach to dining.
