The Original NY Pizza

I think they must need help or staff? Did an online order to pick up at 5. Waited at the restaurant until 5:30. I would have liked a phone call if my pizza was going to be 30 minutes later then expected.

When we came in for lunch today at 12:45 and there was only 2 other customers in the store, that should have been my first sign this place was no good. Its dead at lunch time for a reason, but thats just me. Pizza was anything but good. Came out warm at best and very soggy. The young girl working the cash register had no problem using profanity with customers in the store. Very unprofessional and rude. There are way too many GOOD pizza joints in the area. this is not one of them. Bad pizza bad service bad review. quite simple.

If you’re looking for better than «fast food» pizza, look no farther. They have really great pizza here although my personal favorite is their Stromboli. Always cooked to perfection.
The service is also what makes this place pretty great. While the delivery drivers are all really terrible, the guys inside are always super friendly and attentive. One time they gave me a free fountain drink even though my order didn’t come with one.

Consistently good pizza and friendly staff. Hubby likes the crust here much better than any of the bigger chains. I like that they have a decent white pizza (tomatoes are a migraine trigger for me) that uses more than one type of cheese. The prices are very reasonable too. We always get takeout so I can’t comment on the eat in situation.

Went here for lunch and had the lunch special of 2 1 topping slices and a drink. Typical lunch special…
The pizza isn’t that bad, my knock is the toppings. I got the meatball topping as the meatball is good, I am pretty sure I could hold the meatball slice up and see through it, very very thin…
Biggest plus was that I only wanted a few breadsticks for my son, didn’t want 6 and they were extremely accommodating. The breadsticks are very Eh.
I would definitely give this place another shot…

Being from NY I’ve had better. Decided to dine in and see what they had so I ordered a sausage slice and waited 30mins. The pizza lacked a few things the pizza was soggy, not enough cheese, and the taste was not there. The staff is friendly the seating area was very nice.

This is the best pizza in town. My kids can’t get enough if it. It’s a family favorite for eat in or take out.

Overall this is one of my favorite pizza spots and I am lucky I live close enough for delivery. The only complaint would be that the pizzas from week to week can be inconsistent– that being said it can go from great to good and maybe great again. We get more of the great than good. I would highly recommend this place over and of the chain spots. I have heard that they also have good lunch specials. The garlic knots are also real tasty.

This is a small locally owned chain in Raleigh, Cary and Holly Springs. It is our favorite NY pizza for thin crust. Pepperoni is excellent, crust is perfect and hand tossed — you can watch them throw the dough. They go light on the sauce and that’s the way we like it. All locations are great. We only wish we lived closer to one!

I was a first time customer who lives a couple blocks away and buys pizza a couple of times a week. They would not accept their own coupon. I explained that they could accept their coupon or keep their already prepared food. The employee chose to lose the sale and told me that he did not agree with what the owner had told them to do either and encouraged me to give the guy a call and voice my displeasure. I left without the food, called, left a message with my number and received no response. In a metro area with a pizza place on every corner these kind of decisions wont help you stay in business.

The pizza is not so great and I found a hair under my cheese. Enough said.

Not bad pizza here except the slices are too big. Ergo, the pizza gets soggy and won’t hold a fold. Couldn’t eat this stuff on the run, or rushing to the subway, or texting, or driving. Just too damn big!
On the other hand they get the other things right. The pizza is pretty tasty with a good mix of sauce and cheese. Crust is a little slim around the edges. Not perfect, but not bad.

They get really busy, so call ahead. I ordered my last pizza on a Friday night and was told 45 minutes for pickup. I figured that was an exaggeration, so I showed up in 35 minutes. there were about 6 guys running around (working hard) in the tiny kitchen and they were just making my pizza. Normally, I would have been irritated… but it appeared that everyone else in Cary had the same idea for pizza as I did that night.
I haven’t had the opportunity to try anything else on the menu yet, but I will once I get my fill of their pizza.

My family eats here regularly and appreciate good service and good food.
Call ahead and order even if you are eating in. Nice to walk in, pay and have your slice (s) ready.

This review isn’t a reflection on the pizza itself, the pizza is very good. But I’ve been ordering in delivery from this place for months with no problem. My housing development is 30 feet beyond their delivery border but it’s not been an issue till today. Today the man who answered said they would not delivery to me any more. Said I needed to call the other stores, the problem is that the other stores are not as good. They just aren’t. It wouldn’t bother me so much if I hadn’t spent over $ 281 on pizza from them since July 1^st. Literally, I just checked. This isn’t how you treat regular, good customers. Ridiculous.
UPDATE: They told me yesterday that they’ll deliver to me again! Woohoo! Much happier now!

Being a former New Yorker myself, I used to come here a lot because even I’ll admit the pizza is delicious.
Then one day, I was hung over and craving delivery pizza. I called up the closest N.Y. pizza and asked if they would deliver to Avent Ferry. The guy said no, I said fine and hung up. Not one minute later I got a call on my cell, turned out it was the manager Joe, who started screaming about how he got my number off of his caller ID, and started threatening me for «prank calling» his business. What the hell? All I wanted was a pizza and since he couldn’t deliver it, I said forget it. I don’t understand how calling a pizza shop and asking if they could deliver a pizza is a prank phone call.
Well, the guy claims to be the manager. I presume he isn’t the owner of the company, but still the company employs jerks with obvious anger management issues. There is no way in hell I would give another dime to such a company. Whenever I’m in Raleigh or Cary and I’m craving an NY style pizza, I’ll go over to J&S in Apex, who does it bigger, better, and cheaper, anyway.

Isn’t it ironic that I would miss NY Pizza from North Carolina, but I do! This place (or it’s other 2 locations in Cary) was literally the first place my wife and I dined at when we moved here not knowing anything anywhere around town and honorarily it was the last place we ate at here before we had to move back to California. To us, the straight up pepperoni pizza was the perfect pie here. Just thin crust, big slices with the grease just dripping from your hands, mmm!!!

I’ve been to all the NY Pizza places. They are all EXCELLENT. This is the closest to the pizza I used to get back home (NY). I’ve been here 12 years now and have tried at least a dozen pizza places. NY Pizza is our «Friday night pizza night» place.

Don’t even bother trying the other «NY-​Style» pizzerias in the area, this is the place you want on speed dial. We just moved to town and the two other places we have tried have been miserable. These guys put out a quite decent slice. Not John’s on Bleecker, but will scratch the itch for real NY pizza.

I’m constantly on the prowl for great pizza and consider it to be a foundation food. After moving into the Raleigh area, I immediately went straight to NY Pizza on Tryon based upon the reviews I found on the web. And it pretty much delivers on its name. While I’ll always have a special place in my heart for New Haven style pizza, NY style is a close second.
At NY Pizza they sell by the slice or you can get a small or large pie. I stick with the basic cheese as a purist. Good pizza requires a good crust and NY Pizza does it right. Thin with a little bit of chewiness. Sauce and cheese coverage is good, balanced evenly between the two with good ingredients. The pie itself is quite large with big, foldable slices. At $ 13+, it’s not cheap but worth it if you need a quick fix. Outside of pizza, they’ve got calzones (which look pretty good) but that’s about it for the menu!
You can do pick-​up or sit inside the small seating area, service is decent but can be a bit slow at times. The kids working the joint are nice but not always on top of things. I’ve had to wait an additional 15 to 20 minutes for my pie due to slow service. Overall, I like the place and would recommend it to people looking for NY style pizza. Rock on!
