Love the store itself and have made many purchases here. Gifted assorted cooking classes there last year to friends and family. They loved it. Last night, my mom and I had the pleasure of taking a class there. It was great! Loved the instructor and his helpers. Learned quite a bit and got to eat delicious food! Nice set up — the front bar was a little tight (we were literally elbow to elbow) but a very comfortable setting all in all.
I will def return for another class.

I love this store. A locally owned & operated business with a great location and great selection. They do a great job sharping knives and even offer cooking classes! I would love to see more videos on their YouTube channel though (and would love to help them produce these) :)
I spoke with Diana, one of the owners and she was very kind.
I will be returning shortly to buy some new cutting boards.

This was my first visit. The store is very cute with a nice variety of items. I like tea selection.
I was in one of the cooking classes this past week and I as not a big fan. For the price paid per person I would have expected it to be more interactive with the students actually doing the cooking and learning new tricks. My fiancé’ and I are both great cooks and did not learn anything new. However, if you are not skilled in the kitchen these classes are for you and you will probably find them very enjoyable. The staff was all very friendly and helpful.
I will be back again for shopping but not for the classes.

Nice store where you can find mostly everything that you might need for your kitchen. Bit overpriced but I think it depends on quality of what you are looking for. Staff is always willing to help you during your visit at their store. I still have to try one of the cooking classes!

Love, love, love to cook and consider myself very experienced. Was a bit jaded about a knife technique class but a friend who is also a great cook, advised me to go. LOVED it! What a good way to learn about the art of chopping safely and efficiently. Wish I’d of taken this class 40 years ago. Dan is engaging and works with each student. No only did I learn some new skills but it was fun. I’ve already signed up for a pasta class and this is a far drive for me as I live way over in North Raleigh. Regarding high prices-​for a good class in a lovely environment, it was right on the spot. Owners did offer a discount for a few days for those attending on merchandise.

Tremendous fun, lots of hard-​to-​find gadgets and some interesting looking cooking classes. Helpful staff and a very pleasant, mellow shopping experience. Recommended!

Where the heck have I been that I hadn’t been here before? This is easily the best foodie-​cooking-​loving store I’ve ever been in! Friendly (the LOCAL owners were in the back around the cooking demo area and were engaging and informative about their upcoming cool-​sounding classes. (although not cheap, as they were $ 59 to $ 69 each). Cannot attest to any of those yet, but looking forward to trying some out.
Others have mentioned prices being on the high side and I didn’t get that impression at all, especially for the quality level. Which is the other thing that I really liked about this store… it is all things cooking that are USEFUL. You know how a lot of cooking stores have junk, medium quality and also high-​end? Here it was like they had weeded through anything junky and were only offering good quality useful items.
Despite having a kitchen full already, I sure managed to find a few inexpensive items that have already proved useful (who knew they made small baking sheets for the toaster oven, for instance?).
Also appreciated the friendly gals at the front desk who took the time to help me find Duck Donuts (since I was in Cary and needed to make extra good use of my time there).

Being a small business owner myself… boy, I sure wish helpers would write good things about me when deserved rather than just complaining… so here goes! Whisk is awesome!!! I stumbled upon it while having lunch with my DIL. I will definitely return. I purchased many things that day and was pleasantly assisted by the sales associate and one of the owners. Their recommendations were spot on. Great merchandise and excellent customer service. Well done… now won’t you open another location in my building in Southern Pines? Downtown broad street!!!

Whisk is a terribly fun little kitchen store at the heart of a very lovely shopping center with several other very worthwhile culinary stops. Formerly Sur Le Table, this upscale boutique shop for home cooks and kitchenistas has all the latest nifty gadgets and goodies as well as the solid basics.
Expect the prices to be a wee bit on the high side, but the quality is mostly commensurate and there are some good sales. There were yummy samples to be had and very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Cooking classes are held in the back, and you can find their schedule online at their site
Home cooking boutique shops are a double edged chef’s knife for me. On the one hand, they are fun and have very pretty things to look at. On the other hand, you can find much more serious goods and equipment at better prices at a real restaurant supply store that is not the least bit cute, fun or upscale to shop at.
If you are a pampered home cook who wants to have fun in the kitchen and entertain your friends at occasional dinner parties, definitely hit this place up, along with Sur Le Table, Williams Sonoma and their ilk. If you’re a little more hardcore than that and prefer performance over pretty, you will probably want to avoid the silly gadgety stuff and get your gear at a much less fun to shop at professional restaurant supply store.
Some of the $ 25 plasticky gadgets on the shelves here will make serious cooks go WTF and would last for approximately fifteen minutes of full speed use in a professional kitchen before breaking. Don’t even buy those unless you are completely incapable of, for instance, rolling rice into a circular shape with your hands and a bamboo mat that costs $ 2.95 at the Asian market. I didn’t happen to see one of those at Whisk, but I’m guessing that if I had, there would be an extra digit added to the cost. The product here is probably prettier and more sustainable and hand made by Costa Rican orphans. It’s not necessarily going to roll rice better or last longer.
Though if you are a professional in a hurry and you just ran out of NO2 cartridges and/​or exploded your Isiwhip with six hours to go before service, it’s still places like this that will save your bacon. #totallyguilty #beentheredonethat
Also, did I mention fun to shop at? Definitely do recommend.

but I think the service could use some help…
I was interested in an apron among other things and I noticed that the same item in different colors were priced differently.
I asked the clerk who said she’d check the price tags to find out why. she came back a bit later and explained that the apron I chose was priced incorrectly therefore all of the aprons needed to be re priced at a higher price. then she took the apron I wanted and left!
I had told her earlier that I wanted the apron but she left me standing there. She never offered the item to at the price as marked she just walked away!
Thing is… I agree with HH (reviewer) in that they sure do size you up when you walk in the door.
I felt a slighted so ended my shopping at whisk right then and there.
I went to southern seasons and got all my Christmas gifts there with no issues.
and by the way… the same apron was $ 9.00 cheaper at southern seasons…
just sayin…

I love this place so much. Their knife sharpening service is great and reasonably priced. Their classes are a lot of fun; similar to classes you find at A Southern Season. Their kitchen gadgetry selection is much better than what you find at William-​Sonoma and better priced to boot. One of my favorite areas is the wall of cookie cutters. They have lots of shapes to choose from, from your standard Christmas designs to more unique cutters like airplanes and dinosaurs.

Prices of the actual products were not crazy. Yes, you can get the stuff cheaper online but for a couple of bucks more it is good to support a local business.
Owner, chef (Jeff?) and staff we really nice.
If you don’t know much about cooking I can see how this would be a fun way to spend an evening.
The chef handled all of the questions really well.
Neat selection of things to buy and they did not push the products on you. You knew you could get them there but I did not feel like I was attending an infomercial.
Bad:
I did not learn anything. The demo and what was discussed was so basic that I honestly didn’t pick any tips or tricks up. Some of the questions were so basic I wondered if they boiled water before.
I left hungry. Granted I don’t eat meat but the non vegetarian part had really small portions and I was not really a fan of it. The ricotta flatbread was so hard to eat and had too strong of a lemon taste and the dessert had a very off flavor.
The seats were so close together I felt like I was in the lap of the stranger beside me.

Needed to get our knives sharpened as it has been a few years and they were getting dull.
Decided to try Whisk and the place is very nice… It’s a local version of William Sonoma… Very high quality products
The staff is very nice and very helpful in getting the knives taken care of.
Dropped them off in the afternoon and picked them up the next morning.
They are sharper than before and in good shape.
Price is extremely reasonable for the sharpening service

My beloved bought me a cooking class at Whisk for Christmas, and it was one of the best date nights we’ve had in a long time! Whisk is a great, local store for cooking gear, treats and other fun wedding register-​worthy items.
We took part in an Asian cooking class and were amazed to find out that we wouldn’t need to go out for dinner afterward. The chef provided us with 3 amazing dishes, showed us some new techniques and provided us with recipes to take home. I’m happy to say that I’ve made the Thai Red Curry Pork over raw cabbage more than once and it’s become part of our regular meal rotation.
The classes are a little pricey, but worth it if you’re really into a particular food type or style. I’m very interested in attending another session!

I did not have a good experience in this store. Mind you I DO WANT this shopping center and its stores to suceed after so many years of waiting for Waverly Place Shopping Center to turn around.
When I walked through the door (dressed in my Saturday afternoon sweats and sneakers) I was greeted with a smile and a nod as was the lady who had just walked in before me. The next customer through the door was a well but casually dressed man and was stopped and greeted like royalty — the owner/​manager stopped him and gave him a quick overview of the store and its contents.
I wondered around the store for quite some time before a lady asked me if I need help (by then I was the only one in the store who had not been helped). I told her I was looking for a coffee press. She corrected me. .. «you mean a FRENCH press». Yes a COFFEE press I told her. She briefly looked at a shelf and said «no I don’t think so (she didn’t have the part I was looking for). . ». Her attitude was snide. Period.
If you have a bad location and uncompetitive pricing YOU MUST AT LEAST OFFER GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE TO EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF GENDER AND APPEARANCE. Or, quite simply you will go out of business. I will not ever return to this store after being treated the way I was.

Fast and friendly service. I went to get my knives sharpened. It was a day turn around. I dropped them on a Monday afternoon and got a phone call at 11am the next day that they were ready. The new edge is super sharp. I have been washing them with a sponge and it has been making slices in them.

Check out the whole selection of egg cups, egg spoons and silicon poaching cups, the fancy handles for pot lids, the Belgian waffle makers, the cappuccino makers, beautiful ceramic pots and several shelves of bar accouterments. Amazing!
In the back, there is a an actual kitchen for classes, private parties and demonstrations.
This is one cool place and the staff are super nice. When we visited, they were serving hot tea and whipping up espressos.
Lots of great stuff at Whisk — a truly fun place to browse on a weekend afternoon!

Welcome to Whisk, so maybe it’s not for everyone but for anyone who loves food and especially loves to cook like I do this place is a dream come true. I’m not going to lie I kind of want to work here just to be surrounded by all these amazing cooking tools.
A locally owned kitchen store that not only sells every gadget you’ve ever wanted, but small kitchen appliances, and they have a full kitchen in the back where they host cooking classes. Take a look on their website for all the classes that they offer — I’m super stoked to sign up soon (hint hint this would be an awesome gift).
The owners are super friendly and truly love their business they are very knowledgeable about what they sell and always happy to help. Ask for a coffee sample when you walk in, they normally have a pot on in the back freshly brewed by one of the coffee pots that they sell in the store.
I would compare Whisk to a locally owned William Sonoma but the prices are much better from what I could tell. In case you are looking for a place to sharpen your knives Whisk also offers this service.
The cooking classes are very affordable most of those that I’ve seen range from $ 29 to $ 49 with just a few as high as $ 69.
This store is a great addition to Waverly Place and I’m so excited we have them in town.

Whisk’s Grand Opening isn’t actually until Nov. 3^rd, but we got a hot tip from the folks at Savory Spice that they were open. Since i have a mild obsession with cooking, baking, and all things kitchen, and we were in the area we ventured on over on a Sunday afternoon to check it out.
Whisk is a great name for this shop, as it makes you think kitchen! Whisk is locally owned and operated, and i love local. It is also located in the (i think the name) Waverly Place Shopping Center. This use to be a abandoned run down mall with only a few shops. Over the last year this place has been getting a serious face lift and looks great! Nice to see it start to fill up with some fun shops and restaurants.
I stole my husband’s phone, as his takes better pictures than mine, and uploaded some of what you find there. If it involves food and baking or entertaining chances are you will find it here. I was especially excited to find baking emulsions, which are like flavor extracts on crack. They don’t contain alcohol and their flavor does not bake out like extracts. I typically have to order these from the net, so i was glad to find them here!
Prices are pretty comparable to other high end cooking stores, and their products look quality. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They have an area for future classes and demonstrations. Also offer emails with recipes and specials. If you are a serious, hobby, or just starting out cook/​baker this is a fun place for you to check out!
