These vehicles require special knowledge beyond that of a standard two-​wheel drive vehicle. That said, we service all makes and models of cars also. Our customers appreciate that we offer free transportation for most repairs so that they don’t have to sit around and wait during service.

Advanced Four Wheel Drive & Auto Repair was founded by owner, Steve Dudden, in Castle Rock, Colorado in 2009. The shop was founded with the knowledge that all wheel and four wheel drive vehicles have particular mechanical issues and needs that depend on expertise that goes beyond your traditional repair shop. Steve’s experience with these vehicles is what sets Advanced apart from the competition.

We were here visiting from Michigan and the transmission in our car started troubling us, took it to a couple of other places who couldn’t get us in, found this place on Unilocal,called and they said to come right over. Drove there and they came out immediately, diagnosed the problem and told us it would be fine until we got back to Michigan, which was a great relief! They are awesome!

They are helpful, but shady and OVER priced.
I’ve come here a couple times now, and will never come back. I’ve had quotes for work that has been so expensive. I took it in for a muffler elsewhere and was told by another mechanic that what these guys charge is insane. I just left today from getting a simple check engine light read. They charged me $ 100.00 and took an hour just to give me the code. Not happy.

My son took his Dodge Durango in this shop to see why his check engine light was on. Derrick who was talking to my son through the process gave him a quote of $ 250 for a diagnostic just to see what was wrong with the vehicle. They were very sneeky with trying to trick my son in to paying way more than the actual price because this is his first car. Finally my son started catching on and called several different auto shops seeing what they charged for a diagnostic and got estimates of no more than $ 90. Derrick also listed off several issues that was wrong with the car that did not need to be fixed at the moment. They gave my son a quote of $ 1100 to repair the issue that was keeping the check engine light on. Again my son called the several different auto shops and got an estimate of 3 times less than price he got at advanced fourwheeler.

I’ve had some horrible experiences at auto shops and some wonderful experiences, but at Advanced Auto it’s only been the latter. These guys get your vehicle fix right the first time and get it done quickly. I’ve used Advanced about 3 – 4 times for various issues and they have always been a pleasure to work with. The best part is they actually listen to you. I’ve been to so many shops that call back after diagnosing the issue where it was obvious that they didn’t listen to me when I took the car to them in the first place. *See review I did on auto shop in Colorado Springs. I am so glad to have found a shop I can trust as it seems very difficult these days. Many shops try to up sell you or recommend having things fixed that simply aren’t necessary. I am to the point now where I really listen to their recommendations since I trust I won’t be sold parts or services I don’t need. Thanks Advanced Auto!!!

Hubby and I were headed on a mini vacation, to NM and heard a noise at a stoplight in Castle Rock… pulled into this shop without checking reviews first. Not surprised that this establishment has a higher rating… the staff here rocks!
The issue was a very minor one, thank goodnes– but had to be fixed before getting on the highway. The tech refused to charge us for the part (which apparently was fairly cheap) but further refused to even collect anything for his time! (And we were there around 45min).This never happens! If I could… I would rate them 10 stars for having what other shops don’t …and that’s a heart. Bravo! Lifelong customer here for future needs on our 4 wheel drive– that’s for sure.

I work from home and it’s easy for me to overlook basic maintenance on my vehicle. I recently found myself in need of new tires, a tune-​up (or really just spark plugs, I don’t know or care), an oil change and my 4wd had stopped working. I had a plan to shop the different repairs but I got talked into an overtime shift and realized I needed one place to do it all. The day of my appointment, the 4wd mysteriously started working again, (thank you, God, for my Christmas miracle), so I ended up just doing everything else. Maybe I paid more than I would have had I gone from place to place and negotiated deals, but they had may car fixed same day even though I get the sense they stayed late to do it. When I finally DO fix my 4wd (which does still need repairs), I’ll likely take it there. Same with the brakes. They dropped me off, picked me up and made getting repairs done without taking a day off to do it worth any extra I may have paid.

Great find for auto repair needs! I first moved to Denver about a year ago, just in time for winter. I took my Subaru in for new tires since mine were very warn and not suitable for the snow. Advanced gave me a great deal on the tires — I shopped around — and later when my tire air pressure gauge was malfunctioning, they repaired for free. Recently, I had a nail in my tire. When I brought the car in to be patched (without an appointment), they did the repair in less than an hour. This was very helpful for me because I needed my car for work that day. I have really appreciated the fast and attentive service from Advanced, and will definitely use them moving forward for my auto needs.

A fantastic business. Our 2004 Tahoe has almost 100K miles, needed new tires, and was making a couple of «strange» sounds. We think it’s important to note that we had previously taken it to the dealership and been told that there were a variety of issures wrong with it. Two of them being a power steering leak and bad brakes (the dealership’s cost was about $ 900 for these two items). Interestingly, the dealership’s service advisor couldn’t point out the leak, so we were skeptical that there was a leak or that the brakes needed attention.
So, we decided to give Advanced 4-​Wheel Drive a try because we’d heard a couple of very good things about them. Well, we are so pleased with their honesty and customer-​service (we did not tell them about our «dealership» experience because we didn’t want to influence their assessment). Well, no brake issue and no power steering leak. Plus, the couple of other repairs were less expensive than the dealership’s price. Now our Tahoe drives so smoothly and comfortably. Plus, it doesn’t make any «unusual» noises.
The last thing worth noting is that Steve suggested some tires for us and they are fantastic. We could climb a snowy mountain with these bad boys and the price we paid was slightly less than a couple of tire stores I checked. We’ve already recommended Advanced to friends and family because we’re so confident that they’ll be as happy as we are. Leslie.

This place is great. we were in the process of moving to California from the east coast with trailer (5X8 towed by my 2003 Jeep Wrangler) when we started to smell a very scary/​ominous burnt fluid smell after getting off the road that night. Was becoming clear that something was up, and were pretty sure it was a transmission smell. As luck would have it, this place was right down the road from the Days Inn we were staying at. stopped in and explained our situation/​predicament to Tony, and he was able to get his technicians to take a look by 9am that morning! Luckily the diagnosis was nothing severe, had to flush and refill severely burned/​used fluids that were long overdue for refilling anyway. Really appreciated their straightforward/​genuine/​honest approach when they knew we were in between the perverbial «rock and a hard place».We were able to continue on our journey by 12pm that day and made it to CA with no more problems, and really can’t say enough good things about Tony and everyone there!
