Outback Steakhouse

So… we went there kind of late so service was not an issue. I’ve been spoiled by having a few really good steaks in my life so this steak didn’t even come close. It was particularly «bad» but wasn’t really special either. My husband and I both got the filet mignon and lobster. The lobster was teeny tiny and tasted ok. There would have been a $ 9 upcharge to add a lobster to any meal and this teeny tiny lobster was not much bigger than two jumbo shrimp. The filet was cooked to order… BUT…for the price (~$ 30) I would have expected a more flavorful steak. I even wondered if it was actually a filet mignon cut. The taste was not much better than I steak I could buy at the market and cook at home. So, $ 100 later (with tip) for a meal for two, no dessert and one (big) glass of wine between us — meh. I’d opt to spend a bit more to get a «real» steakhouse steak. That is — a really flavorful steak. My advice — spend a little more and go elsewhere.

This review is for yesterday. Extremely disappointing!!! I had asked for a MEDIUM RARE Burger. It was cooked more MEDIUM WELL TO WELL DONE! No lettuce tomato or onion and condiments on my burger as well. Not to mention the veggies lacked flavor very bland. The only thing I enjoyed was the house salad and a tad bit of blooming onion. Come on Outback! I hope you guys can do better than this.

B-​A-​D bad. We eat out all the time and after wasting another trip here again for the fourth time in two years, the food is just bad and the service is not much better. Poor quality cuts of meat. Tasteless soup. Below average salads. Ok seafood. Really? The beast a steakhouse can do is seafood with below average steaks? Why bother. We like to go to places where there is real value for the dollar. We don’t mind spending money on good food and service. We hate spending good money on below average food and service. Huge missed opportunity.

What a wonderful meal my husband and I had here this weekend! Hannah was a delightful server, very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.
We started with the Ahi tuna appetizer. It was delicious! Served with a ginger/​sesame/​wasabi sauce and a crisp salad underneath. Everyone orders the blooming onion — which is also tasty– but we like to venture out a little bit.
Next we both had prime rib and it was absolute perfection! One reviewer said they have a hard time getting the prime rib as rare as they like, but we had no issues. I simply asked for the rarest piece and that’s what I received! I had the garlic mashed potatoes with my meal. They were piping hot and tasted very fresh. My husband had the loaded baked potato and enjoyed it very much. We each had the blue cheese/​candied pecan chopped salad before the prime rib. It was well worth the $ 1 upgrade!
After that incredible meal we were too full for dessert, though the options looked enticing. Hannah absolutely made the experience remarkable — a good server will lead to repeat customers.
Way to go Outback Steakhouse in Castle Rock!

Decided to stop here for my girlfriends Birthday Oh boy worst mistake ever, first of we got to be seated next to the bathroom we all know how lovely that is having dinner with fresh smell of shit everytime the bathroom door was opened, Our table was dirty and sticky my girlfriend ordered the salmon nothing special bland and not very good, I ordered the double burger worst burger ever it was dry and cooked to a crisp so was the fries cant even get the fries right burger was cold and sloppy what a shame burger had a full head of lettuce hey if I wanted to eat lettuce I would have ordered a salad instead the service was poor and slow and not even a Happy Birthday to my girlfriend we would not be coming back to this place anytime soon.

This particular Outback is open for lunch so that’s a nice option for a big, late lunch if you know you won’t be eating dinner any time soon. Other than that, this is the ubiquitous Outback Steakhouse. Meats and shrimp are good, as is the Caesar salad. Nothing fancy. Predictably good and reasonably good value. Service comes with smiles.

We love Outback. The service can tend to be slow, but the last time we were in – they were on it! Our food has been unfailingly delicious. We love the flavors. The steak, the salad, the dessert! YUM. Can’t go wrong here.

Came in late for dinner and and told the hostess that we decided to eat at the bar. No bar stools so we grabbed a booth in the bar. Five minutes went by and no service. Hostess came by and asked if we needed menus. Of course we did! Another 3 minutes went by until a server asked us if we needed any drinks. I got a draft beer and Jeni asked for a hot toddy. My beer sat at the service bar a good 2 minutes before getting to me and the hot toddy was no where in sight! We ordered the avocado crab stack as an appetizer. If you call a 1 inch a stack then you’ll love this! It wasn’t worth the price tag. Finally the hot toddy arrived. I can’t tell you how long it took, I stopped asking for it. My 9 oz filet was cooked medium rare and was had spicy taste. The steamed broccoli was hot but tasteless. Half way through dinner the bill was placed on the table. No offer of dessert! Oh we never got bread that is always offered! Most of the staff were sitting at the bar or in the tables across talking about their night. The manager did walk by asked how are you but kept walking not waiting for our response. He ended up sitting with his staff joking and talking. Our server was running around and was busy but when I found a crusted blotch of goo on the vinegar dressing spout I was done. We paid and left dissatisfied.

Nice friendly Outback restaurant. They have good, fast, quite pleasant service, a consistent menu, and a happy hour with a small drink discount. It’s not going to set you on fire with dining excitement, but it’s comfortable with decent quality and value. And again, their wait staff is welcoming and attentive.
Also — see my photo of tonight’s burger and broccoli. $ 8.99. Their steamed broccoli is super as a side dish. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, every time. You won’t miss the fries if you’re trying to be a little healthier!

Wife and I ate at this location last night and within a few hours were violently ill. We shared salad and shrimp so pretty sure it was one of those. Called manager today and he couldn’t have cared less. We’ve been to this location numerous time, first time that we got sick but we have noticed the food and service are declining. There are better choices in the area.

I’m glad to see some positive changes with the brand. I think they are doing a lot with their menu these days, in a good way. I love their gluten free options and the drinks. The skinny marg is so good. Service isn’t what it used to be, but I’ve just come to expect that here.

Had some family in town two evenings ago and thought we’d just go to Outback as it’s always our go to place for a nice dinner.
We got seated right away, had a nice server but my complaint is on the food. Lately, it’s gotten pricier and the quality is not what it used to be. I had chicken on the Barbie with unlimited shrimp and my chicken was so dry I could barely cut it with my steak knife. I would of sent it back if it was just myself and my husband but because we had company in town I refrained from doing that as I didn’t want to embarrass them. The shrimp was so breaded and overdone you couldn’t even taste the shrimp inside. My husbands steak was thin and small and not what it used to be. And, I’d like to say that every restaurant has an off night but this has been more the «norm» there lately.
You are definitely losing us Outback which is sad as we always have loved going to dinner there!

Lunch prices are to high but the food is good. I think they’d do more business if they kept their sandwiches around 10.00 instead of 12 and up.

This restaurant had so much potential. We have gone there several times and at first the food was good but the service was slow. Thinking it was because they were new, we waited and went back last night. The service was terrible. The waitress had no idea what Prosecco was or if they had it. We were there for two hours, we had to ask at least twice for everything, appetizers took 45 minutes, and after two hours we did not have our food and we left. We really had high hopes, and gave them more than one opportunity to change our minds; failed. We will never return.

Two stars– mainly because of our server.
Wanting to eat something healthy– my girlfriend and I considered a few options in the Castle Rock area and thought steak and veggies would be our best option.

I’m not quite sure if both our meals were insanely over seasoned or if that is just the way Outback Steakhouse presents their food in hopes of either selling more from the bar or helping their patrons to a life of high blood pressure and water retention.
I ordered the lunch portion of Steak/​Shrimp with steamed veggies.
The steak came cooked to a perfect dark ink rare– just as ordered.
The Steak and Shrimp were so salty I had to ask for 5 water refills. The Veggies sadly were served cooked tender but cold upon arrival.
My girlfriend’s steak was also cooked to her ordering– but her veggies were also room temperature and steak painfully over seasoned as well.
We ate as much as we could tolerate– and had other plans so neither one of us wanted to wait for food to be sent back for re-​order.
Our server was prompt and friendly– and kept up with our five requests for water.
Would I ever go back to the Outback?
yes– but I will make sure to communicate to cook my food with NO SEASONING — maybe that would be the best choice.
Anyone else notice a rediculous amount of salt in their food?

We enjoyed a birthday dinner early evening on a Sunday and while the company was super, the service excellent, the food was only OK. The dining room was quiet but filled in while we ate so by the time we finished the volume had increased quite a bit.
The drinks (Mojitos, Margarita’s and a muddled strawberry concoction) were all tasty but the steaks (the main reason people eat here I am told) was over-​seasoned and a bit over-​cooked. I had asked for a medium rare steak and received a center that was fully cooked: no pink left and while tender it was still a little over-​done. My biggest complaint though is the seasoning. While I enjoy pepper a great deal, the steak was a bit too thick with it. The seasoning on the lobster tail was a bit much as well. While both were «OK» neither lived up to expectations as both were over seasoned.
Not the worst meal, but frankly for the price I was disappointed.

If you like salt, you’ll love Outback. I can forgive one overly salted item but when the steak, chops, and all other items on our plates was brine time, we’ll certainly avoid this place in the future.

We have been here several times and go to Outback Steakhouse locations across the country frequently when we travel. This location in Castle Rock has by far the worst service of any other Outback locations that we’ve visited. The food is generally good, but getting a good server is nearly impossible at this location. Also, having your food cooked correctly and even receiving your order correctly are often a challenge. We reluctantly tried this location again last week; needless to say, this was the very last visit to the Castle Rock location. We spent 2 hours in the restaurant getting a simple lunch and the food was sub-​par.

Lunch fri, sat and sun. They have a great happy hour. I do like their new bloomin onion petals because we never finish a whole one and it makes it so all parts of it are cooked instead of when you pull out the petals in the whole one and it is not breaded on the bottom of them. I already really like their house salad too because it has cheese and cucumbers as well. They have great lunch specials as well.

Excellent menu: steak, assortment of quality fish, specials, fresh sides. The halibut was flavorful and not overcooked. Green beans were steamed to perfection. Yet, the fish only came with one side. Hardly enough for a hungry man. I ordered a couple of more at (ouch!) $ 3 per item. That’s where they gouge you. The sides weren’t generous in amount either.
