History

Established in 2010.

We started life in the old creamery building on historic Main Street in Elizabeth. At our 10mth anniversary, we decided we were already out of space and after an extensive search moved to the historic area of downtown Castle Rock, approximately 18 miles west of Elizabeth and in the I-​25 corridor with easy access from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins.

After 25 yrs as an Information Technology Executive and while developing a career as a photograper and digital photo processor, Vickie became more frustrated than most with the «made in China» phenomenon. On July 10^th 2010 she decided to take matters into her own hands and open a store. Determined to find top quality, American-​made products that were more natural than chemical, she set about creating and developing The Smells Good Store. The store continues to grow as she finds more exciting American-​made products to delight customers. Body care must be a minimum of 95% natural but with zero parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, geraniol, sodium lauryl sulphate, sodium laureate sulphate and the list gets bigger each month, and there’s a big selection of gluten free and vegan friendly products to choose from.
