Eden Medical Center

Had the misfortune of having to take a family member to the ER today, thankfully all is well and nothing too serious but can I just say WOW!!! This facility is AMAZING! Lets start with the parking situation… they really have thought EVERY DETAIL OUT in this place. I could park in the bay for 30 minutes whilst I dropped off my relative. AWESOME! After we checked in, I moved my car to the underground parking and had no problems parking whatsoever, FREE too. Not your typical experience, well at least not mine when visiting hospitals which is very rare I have to say. The staff here were awesome! They are super busy in ER but even so, they make time for you. Even in the worst of times, I am a joker and these guys cracked a joke with me even in the worst times. LOVE IT! The facility is state of the art, they have really put a lot of thought into everything. LOVED the cafeteria area, food was fantastic, ATM, vending machines. They even have an outdoor patio area to sit out in. Although I really don’t want to be visiting the ER or Eden Medical Center anytime again soon, I have to say that this place is fantastic, the staff are awesome and we were very well looked after. Thanks to all the doctors, nurses, cleaners, house keeping staff, the canteen staff and the chefs, everyone! Keep up the amazing service and care! I don’t want to come back anytime soon of course but if I had to I know we would be in great hands!!!

I must say that the emergency room workers especially Ms. Philapil MD. Was extremely helpful and kind with regards to the reason I was at the ER. I must say all of the hospital staff was very professional, and Ms. Princess worked very hard to assist and help me as well, very compassionate worker. RN Amanda has great customer service skills :)

I was taken to Eden Medical Center by the paramedics on Saturday morning, and I’m now being released on Monday evening. I must say that I have been totally impressed with the service and care I have received, across the board! Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly and caring. The nursing staff, in the incredibly busy Emergency Room, and then on the 5^th floor, were professional, caring and very competent. I would be happy to come back here anytime!

Worst overnight hospital stay. Had a surgical procedure that was delayed 2 hours, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. The staff that prepared me was awesome: Debi, Holly, Erika, etc. However, once admitted, Arrielle ruined my entire experience. She routinely missed my pain management schedule so I was «chasing pain» all night. My catheter was problematic and Arrielle advised that she would correct the issue– but failed to do so. She wouldn’t help with hygiene issues or with my portable equipment. Thank God Holly happened by my room! She helped wash my face, brush my teeth, remove the catheter, administer meds and obtained equipment.
Aside from the extremely poor care I received from Arrielle, the food was not edible. I’ve enclosed pictures of the old bagel and cold cereal. I would not consider another procedure here!

The emergency staff and support staff is excellant… the billing or customer service questions might as well bend over and get molested. call sacto or call
Ireland. Its not going to get resolved… i wanted a copy of a record sign over your first born and your pet goat and maybee we can help then they ask is the goat a virgin… ugh yep my response. thank you customer support and billing department. hmmm do i send my thanks to sacramento or local?

I really like this hospital and medical facility. The rooms are clean, modernized and the staff is very friendly. I live just a few miles away from Eden and recently needed their services when I broke my ankle. The doctor who performed my surgery was extremely knowledgeable and fixed my ankle without any complications. My follow-​up has been great without any problems. I’ve since transferred both of my sons from their previous doctor over to Sutter Health, which is right next door, for primary care. I highly recommend this hospital.

I had to take a family member to the ER here. The wait was long but that’s expected. ER staff was caring and tentative. The nurse went out of her way to request pain meds to keep him comfortable until the doctor saw him. He got admitted later on. I can’t say enough good things about the staff. They took good care of him. Thanks Eden!

e-​room was ok, not great. WARNING: their billing procedures are quite medieval. I was told there’s a 30 day window –after you’ve paid– the bill they send you where they may still send your account to collections, but it’s ok because by the time you get the collection letter they will have resolved the paperwork & you’ll have a zero balance at the collection agency.
That is not «okay» by any stretch of the imagination.

This review is for the labor and delivery tour… I’ll make sure to update this after delivery =)
It was FANTASTIC! Got all of my questions answered and was soooo glad that we signed up for it. They have 2 in one day, one at 6:00 pm and one at 7:30 pm. You have to call to find out when they are having a tour. When I called to register for it, the lady was unclear as to what time it started but I think this was because they’re trying out the 6:00pm time slot. Also, they don’t ask you to sign in when you’re there so the only point of registering is so that you know the time and date of the tour.
Here are some useful facts that I wish they had all in one place on their website (I searched but couldn’t find anything). I found them useful and made me glad that I chose Eden Medical Center for the birth of our first baby!
Parking and Entrance
–Valet parking is FREE and open from 7:00am-6:00pm
–If you need to get your keys after valet is closed, go to ER entrance and ask someone there
–All other parking is free and there is a ton of it!
–Main doors are open til 8:00pm but after that you can get inside by using the side entrance near emergency (but don’t go through emergency… lots of sick people and you don’t want those germs)
Labor and Delivery
–Encouraged to labor at home as long as possible
–Come in if contractions are 2 – 3 minutes apart for an hour
–Don’t have to rush to the hospital if water breaks, it’s ok to labor at home as long as possible and as long as fluid is clear and you don’t have a fever, but don’t hesitate to call if you’re concerned
–If water breaks, not a big deal if you don’t deliver within 24 hours (unless there are other complications… fever etc)
–Go directly to Labor and Delivery on first floor
–Need to push intercom button to be let in
–All Private rooms
–4 regular rooms with all amenities, 1 large room with just a bed, 2 rooms for C-​sections, 2 triage rooms
–Regular rooms have showers, sink, tv, and 2 have Jacuzzis (first come first served)
–Large room is rarely used (mainly used for storage) but is used when out of room
–Triage is where you go if you’re not sure you’re in labor or for tests/​shots. You don’t necessarily need to go to triage when you come in. If completely out of room, they can use Triage for delivery
–Allowed 3 guests including partner (strict)
–Visitors can wait in the spacious waiting area
–Fun Fact: 75% of women end up getting an epidural
–Can labor in the Jacuzzi, shower, or by walking around but won’t be monitored and must be ok’ed by doctor
–You are welcomed to bring a birthing ball if that’s how you’d like to labor. The perk of this method is that you can still be hooked up to the monitors
–Immediate skin-​to-​skin contact after birth is highly encouraged
–They delay babies bath by 12 hours
–Highly recommend parent baby bonding during the «golden hour» which is the first hour after birth where baby is alert and will have first feeding (i.e. try to hold off on letting guests in)
–Also welcomed to bring a breast-​feeding pillow
–There will be 4 security bracelets handed out 2 to baby, 1 to mom, and 1 to partner
–Pediatrician comes in to do standard tests
–Recovery lasts for 2 hrs for vaginal birth
–They ask that you don’t shower after delivery until you get to Post Partum room
Post Partum
–All private rooms
–5 post partum rooms
–If all 5 are taken up, they leave you in the labor and delivery rooms, and if they end up needing a labor and delivery room, they’ll send mother and baby to the 5^th floor with a security guard
–Rooms have shower, sink, couch that turns into bed for partner, and rocking chair
–Allowed 3 guests including partner (flexible)
–For visitors there is a separate Post Partum entrance to the left of Labor and Delivery
–Baby hardly leaves your sight, if at all
–Recommended to stay 2 days for vaginal and 3 days for C-​section after delivery
–If you want to stay only one day, let them know so they can make arrangements for necessary procedures on the baby (testing and such)
–Discharge is at 11:00 am
–Offer eye ointment, Hep shot, vitamin K shot, and hearing test.
–For baby boys, circumcision is done by your OB and not the pediatrician.
–You need to call your insurance to see how circumcision is covered. (i.e. does it have to be done in the hospital, does he come back for a separate appointment, is it considered cosmetic and not covered at all)
–Ok to bring outside food as they do have microwaves but keep in mind they don’t have a fridge
–Recently changed their food options and is now really good. You get to pick from a menu from 7:00am-7:00pm (forgot the exact times but it’s somewhere between this)
–Partners get one complimentary meal
-$ 9 a meal
Nursery
–Level 1 nursery but nurses are level 2 trained
–If necessary, babies would be sent to the Alta Bates NICU in Berkeley
–If you are under 34 weeks and you go into labor, they prefer that you deliver at Alta Bates

I cannot say enough about Eden hospital. Each time my mom ended up there they treated her very well. The last time the nurses in icu were fantastic. The people who helped with her end stage issues were the best. I can’t remember their names and they dealt with end stage patients. I had been trying for months to have my mom transferred from a care facility in Hayward to one in Stockton.
The staff at Eden hospital had her transferred from their facility to one in Stockton in less than two days. Bless them.

Absolutely beautiful facility with huge rooms for all patients on every floor! Lots of parking, (even includes a valet!) but not much shade unless you’re in the garage across the way.
The whole building is beautiful but kind of awkwardly laid out — I feel the architect could have put the doors in better places, rooms in different shapes, etc. But regardless of this, each patients room is huge and well stocked. Every nurse I’ve come across is bubbly, smiling and full of energy. No complaints whatsoever from my grandma who came in last week; she loves the care she’s receiving. Definitely top notch medical facility!

This review is for the Emergency Room. This place does not triage their patients.
I was here on 2 different occasions with 2 different friends who were in excruciating pain. Literally screaming in pain.
Both were made to wait for hours. They were not even offered any pain medication while they waited.

I just recently transferred in to the Sutter network and was recently admitted to Eden for pneumonia complications.
I have never had an experience like this. Very attentive and timely care. From the moment I walked in the door I was blown away at the service. Doctors come and sit at my bed for an hour just talking about what is going on with me. Every nurse I had showed the same care.
Truly refreshing.

Excellent Staff and Process. I had a neck fusion done here by Dr.Mimran.This Hospital is as good as it gets. No price gouging, awesome follow up after the procedure. I highly recommend Eden it is new clean and very professional.

The people in critical care are so nice

I really was not looking forward to another hospital experience. The good thing was that it was not my family. My friend was brought here and the only reason I am doing a review is because this place is absolutely amazingly gorgeous. I drive bye here almost every day and hoped to god I didn’t have to visit but I am very glad I did to get that eager bug off of me.

Unfortunately we can’t control when emergencies happen, but fortunately, mine happened at 6 am on a holiday weekend. I am actually writing this review while in the ER because after only having been here for an hour, I have already been treated.
I came in with an asthma attack, which isn’t always priority believe it or not. I was checked in, triaged, and seen by the doctor within 30 minutes of arrival… not to mention it was shift change. Every single person from the RN Addie, RT Annalie, to the doc McWhorter have been extremely pleasant, efficient, and prompt.
I’m sure if it were 5 in the afternoon my wait would be longer and the staff would be tired and overwhelmed, but you have to understand… IT’S AN ER PEOPLE!
Oh and I’ll add that the facility is adequate and very clean.
Lastly, BE NICE TO HOSPITAL STAFF. They work long hours and their jobs can be very stressful at times.

Emergency at this hospital sucks, the security guy Mr. Roger M. don’t give a shit about patient. Please, if you have a chance don’t come to the Eden hospital Emergency.
Takes for ever to be seen by a doctor.
I had to bring my wife to Emergency and my wife was in a critical situation and had a lot of pain, I had to ask the security guy couple of time if he could update me of how long it is gonna take and he replied with a very rude attitude that all the doctor are seeing one patient which is very serious. Really??! My wife situation is nothing. After one hour the security guy (Mr. Roger M) got a call to introduce the patient to the RN then he introduced the other lady with a kid who came way later then us.
The lady was very nice and she said that they came first and she has a lot of pain please take care of her first.
Then Roger M was very upset I could see it in his eyes.
