Willow Park Event Center

My Hawaii 5.0 Birthday Party was held in the ball room. We managed to bring Hawaii to Castro Valley. It was a memorable night and the best bday celebration thanks to Maggie and the fantastic staff at Willow Park. Maggie, provided us w excellent suggestions. One was displaying the pig w flamed fire and wood as it was still cooking. It was a HUGE hit w our guests. The Hawaiian Buffet Menu included coconut roasted chicken. We were unsure about the coconut crusted chicken flavor. Maggie arranged a night for us to try it at the restaurant. We ended up having the chicken. I must admit, been to a lot of buffet dinners for large parties; I was concerned that the food may be overcooked. Everything was cooked perfectly and fresh. The veggies werent soggy but cooked perfectly. Food was soooo UNO (good). We couldn’t have been happier. Our guests were impressed with the delicious food and the presentation was outstanding! The staff was amazing and very attentive. Humberto was fantastic! He was very attentive and made sure the party was running smoothly from bringing out the food, to having the hula dancers performed, to cake cutting, and taking the food away. I felt as if we had on very own event coordinator! The entire staff was very accommodating to our needs. We even met the chef. He csme out and introduced himself. So cool! They did not disappoint. Our guests had sooo much fun and ate sooo much bc they loved the food which included gingered sweet potatoes. Yum! Our guests sent us thank you cards for inviting them to a great party commenting on the food and decorations. It was truly a memorable night. Thank you, thank you!

We held our wedding reception at Paradise Grill on September 28, 2013 and we are so happy that Julie Ferrantino was there to provide all the guidance and suggestions that she did. She and her staff did an amazing job of making our reception a wonderful event to top off our Wedding! The food was fantastic and we heard many compliments on how well done the reception was catered. The Pan Roasted Halibut was an exceptionally great hit! The staff were very attentive and did not interfere in our program in any way. The room was laid out perfect for our small reception (about 90) and we easily could move around, visit and enjoy everyone who attended!
Again, Thank You Julie for a wonderful experience! Willow Park owes you big time for being the event planner extraordinaire! Great Job!

Julie… Julie. Julie makes this place an AMAZING place for your wedding and reception. Spacious ballroom, ceremony site and amazing grounds all make for beautiful photographs. Easy location for guests to find and plenty of parking. The entire staff is professional and courteous. I would recommend this location all day long!

I booked my wedding here for July 20, 2013 back in August 2012. We had been working with Julie. She was incredibly flexible and held my hand through the entire process. We chose to have the Mexican buffet as my husband and his family are Mexican. The food was great (what I tasted anyway, brides don’t get to eat much). They worked with my vendors to make sure everything went smoothly. Julie recommends someone to help decorate with lights. I provided the tulle and he did the lights and hung them and tore them down after for only $ 75.

Awesome! We hosted our parent’s 50^th wedding anniversary at Willow Park. From the moment we started working with Julie and Maggie, we knew we had chosen the right venue. They were so flexible and generous with their time. Every time we called or emailed, we received a very fast reply. The night of the party was perfect, from the servers to the bartender, and of course Julie’s oversight of the entire event. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were very generous. Everyone who attended was very complimentary of the evening and our parent’s were so happy with the evening. Their comment «we could not have asked for anything more!» said it all. Thank you to the whole staff for making this such a memorable event for my parents and our families.

The food and service was excellent. Servers and bartender were on top of it. Staff was always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Coffee was very good. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Definitely will be back for another event here.

The food and service is excellent. The filet mignon is the best I have ever had. The wine list is excellent and well priced. Highly recommend.

This place is a class act. On May 12, 2012, Willow Park Event Center generously donated their facilities for «Just Dance,» an evening of dancing for special education students in Castro Valley and Hayward. For 2 hours (7−9pm), special education students and the Castro Valley HS leadership class who hosted the event danced the night away; their joy and happiness was absolutely infectious!

Went to a retirement party here a few weeks ago, a nice size banquet style room. Obviously this place has seen many a wedding, party etc…
it’s a bit dated but if you live in the area I’m sure the price is probably right. Maybe they were expecting a bigger turnout and felt this large room was neccesary, but I think there were only about 50 people all together.
The food service could have been better for the event, a majority of people ordered the steak dinner. But I had ordered chicken because I don’t eat beef and to wait while everyone at my table was served, and then other tables were served and I sat there with no food. And my husband finally had to ask the staff to get my dinner, so I could eat with the rest of the table? My chicken was overcooked (the mashed potatoes were good). It reminded me of something out of 1976, frozen in time. I don’t know what our friend’s wife paid for the rental, but I overheard that there was also an issue with the alcohol that if the bar tab of $ 300 wasn’t met by the guests she’d owe that too? Hmmmm… Whatever. I think we could have had a better meal at a restaurant personally.

I was looking for a venue since the Pleasanton Hotel closed. I decided to come close to home and check out what I had known as Willow Park Golf Course. They have a great event center. I have been working with Maggie and she has answered all of my questions and assisted with all of my needs. They have a beautiful little wedding chapel near the driving range, and the rooms that are available for the reception are very roomy. I have priced different venues in the area for a similar sized event and hands down this was the best deal out there. It was half the price of a Vineyard wedding at a local winery. Some people don’t even know it is nestled in the hills of Castro Valley. If you want to keep your wedding local, this is the place to have it.
