I despise this place. My kid plays travel softball. Big League Dreams are the only fields you need to watch AND to play! It’s $ 5.00 to watch and $ 1.00 for the player. you are not allowed to bring in outside food or drinks which insures that you have to wait TOO long to pay too much TOO much for average food.
If I could post with negative stars I would!

I went to this park to enjoy a nice weekend of baseball with my 11 year old son. It almost ended with me getting assaulted by a douchebag at the batting cages because of misinformation given by the front desk to both me and the other douchebag… There are 14 teams at the tournament, and the front desk allows (1) team to rent all of the youth cages out (this is stupid each team should have (1) cage maximum). I asked the men if My son could work in with them and they got in my face and said only if I paid them, then he threatened me and said he would put his 6′-5″ friend guarding the cage door. I proceeded to allow my son into the cage and this tall skinny putz literally puts his hands on me and tries to shove me, mind you I didn’t move 1 inch so his 6’5 stature was useless for him. So I then choose to not fight this man and go to the front desk to get clarification and they say yes I can work in with these men, I then went to the manager and he said No they rented out the cages and I cant work in with them. I said «Guys give me some accurate information because you almost started a fight with this man assaulting me». I chose to be the bigger man and walk away because I was not going to fight some dumb *ss at an 11 year old tournament and go to jail, I would rather just stay and watch my son play his games. I asked the staff to remove this man from the park because he physically shoved me and they did NOTHING. Divine justice is that our team went on to win the 11u championship and this douchebag and his team got beaten down badly the very next game. I guess his boys needed the hitting practice more than us!!! The management almost caused a fiasco just from being uneducated on procedures along with an ignorant father who thought he was god… This place is a joke I will never be back to Cathedral City. West Covina and Chino are wayyyyyyyyyy better run!

This is a pretty nice facility. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but they seemed pretty busy and decently priced. My only complaint was the completely uninterested, mindless kid working in the front. First, I was calling all morning on a Sunday to find out the hours– no answer. When we arrived and found that the facility was open– we were advised that the front did not accept credit/​debit cards and instructed to go into the restaurant to use the ATM… The ATM was broken. We were given our total ($ 24 for two cages for 30 mins each) and directions to a nearby gas station where we could use the ATM. We arrived back to the facility with $ 40 in hand to use the batting cages and were told that the front only accepted exact change… would have been nice to know when you sent us off to use the ATM! He was all around unhelpful and kind of put a damper on our Sunday Fun-​Day.
But no complaints about the facility, they seem well kept and it’s a fun place to spend the day.

This place is the Mecca of CollegeSoftball once a year and this is the reason of my yearly trip as well. This monstrosity of a place boasts 7 different softball fields all within a couple steps of one another and a bar smack dap in the middle! Now who doesn’t love that?
It is located in a very nice area of Cathedral City with plenty of food right down the street, but you really never need to leave the park. (They also don’t let you bring any outside food or beverage, including Starbucks :(
For a weekend in February this place turns into the spot to be seen in college softball. Every team fights for a spot at the Mary Nutter Classic and is basically the pre-​season College World Series. If you are there for more than 1 min, you will see a ton of familiar faces in and around the bar and everyone seems to know each other (it’s a small community).
The «Big League Fields» are all touching each other and the smaller ones are all touching themselves.
This is a fun place to come grab a beer and watch the best talent in college softball… just beware of foul balls!

I am giving only 2 stars to this place… 1 star for the umpires and 1 star for the bartenders! This place is run very poorly… There is more inconsistancy with this place than any other! If you play by the rules that are set forth you are labled a whiner and a troublemaker… At least that is what we were told by the head office. The people who run this place are rude and have ZERO customer service skills. The last time I checked, we as a team pay $ 1045.00 per season to play and that doesnt include what we spend in the clubhouse. And by per season I mean every 10 weeks. That is $ 5,225.00 per year and per team and between myself and my husband we play on 4 teams. You do the math! The only person in the office that cared about the teams and the players has moved on and is no longer there. Good for you Jeremy! You will be missed! The current staff waited about 1 hour before placing all of the blame for the problems at the park on him… Shame on you! Now we are left with 2 very disrespectful head office people who treat sponsors, coach’s, and players like trash. Unless of course you are one of their teammates! There is no wonder why this park is so corrupt. The umpires and managers in the office are allowed to play on teams! WOW! Whoever owns these parks should take a good look at how they are being run!!! Is it really that hard to post schedules for the season and standings on a regular basis? My sunday team never had a schedule posted on line and its weeks before you can see the the standings on line… Perhaps the people in the office should spend less time standing around the bar and talking on their cell phones and DO SOMETHING!!!

Where should I start we have played here now for almost 2 years and have had 3 teams play each season. $ 3 to get in +$ 25 to play+ team fees+ food and drinks, do the math we fork out allot of money to play here and for what. The rules ALWAYS change. God for bid you ask them a question or make a complaint, were treated as a burden not paying costumes asking for a service. The way they make calls sometimes is really going to cause injures. Rookie league is ment for players out to have fun but for some reason they allow ball players on teams that are far to powerful. Every season we make Playoff’s and everytime we lose on a BS call made by management. Someone should really look into how this place is handling issues. Are fees went up for «improvements» ha really what improvements, no water fountains work they have exposed wires everywhere, fields have dangerous holes, plates arnt even cute in the right shapes, misters don’t work, and most dug outs are exposed for balls flying in to hit players??? Once again we made Playoff’s an the other team was allowed to add TWO players that weren’t on there team all season hmmmmm how does that happen but I can get an extra runner when we have 3 injured players??? We love most of our umpires, their as fare as they can be running a game alone, but without a base umpire calls are a mess and fights break out every game. Management blows you off left and right. No changes are ever made. It’s their way or noway. You wonder why they went from 20 teams to 7, really maybe it’s because teams are sick of the $$$ with no regard for safety or rules. We will take a season off and maybe move our teams else where like everyone else has done.

My daughter Played in a 12 and under girls softball tournament. 107 degrees!!! Girls were overheating. could not get ice and water for girls that were overheating. they said it was for the restaurant only!!! David fritts the manager is the most unprofessional man I have ever met. Did not even care about our concerns.

The joint could use a coat of paint and quicker service in the restaurant. I absolutely love this place and have been coming here for years. While everthing is functional, it could use a little sprucing up. The Big Geen Monster on Fenway is hammered. The people in the crowds are all faded. C’mon man…
The restaurant is not that bad. Unless you are looking for efficient service. There is so much potential, yet so much wasted effort.
These things wont stop me from coming as I play here as well as my daughter… but I could see organizations start looking elsewhere unless things shape up.

Burgers better and cheaper than you might expect

I play softball out here 3 – 5 times a year. Never have had a really bad experience. Being an avid Big League Dreams visitor I know the procedures. $ 3 to get in and a $ 1 off black token good at the bar/​snack bar. The bad thing about this one is they will NOT serve pitchers of beer during tournaments but they will during league… I find that highly ironic because… Tournament players are usually more experienced than rec league players (for the most part) and Tourney players know their limits and can handle their alcohol while playing (the reason I was given, was because of injury liability)…but they will serve pitchers of beer to rec league players who have been playing for 6 months and don’t have anywhere near the experience that most tourney players do, which makes them a greater liability if they are drinking… so I would suggest flipping this rule. Also if you serve beer at tournaments you will make more $$$$. The other BLD’s serve pitchers… this is the only one that doesn’t.
The grounds crew is very good out here and friendly, dragged and watered the fields in between games. There are fans in the dugouts because it does get super super hot out there.
I had one of the crappiest chicken sandwiches ever! I didn’t expect much but that just sucked… and the food is really expensive for what you get. If you have time between games, leave and get good food for the money. There are all sorts of fast food right around the fields and restaurants.

I was here visiting palm springs to watch my friend play in the softball tournament, so I did not play but enjoyed the facility very much, the fields looked great, nice bar and food area, and there was always a game to watch and get into
I’ve never seen so many people taking co Ed softball so seriously and play with such intensity which made it really fun to watch
I was watching this midnight madness type tournament that lasted several nights so the games were very late at night and went till early into the next morning so the crowds were rowdy and intoxicated so I would not recommend bringing children
I had a really great time…, and that could be from all the drinking i did but i can’t wait to come back and do it all over again

Very disappointed in our return visit out here. Perhaps part of it is in part on how the way we played as a team however the sensible part of me, albeit that is very small, knows that there is some justification to the lower rating.
First of all it costs $ 3 for a spectator to get in the gate… no worries there. Most places such as this will charge you a fee to enter and give you a token at equal value good for use at their concession stand. Well this place charges $ 3, gives a token for $ 1 to use for terrible food that is way overpriced. Ok, I’m still on board with this and I get it. What I don’t get is the fact that they charge the players the same amount to get in. Didn’t we pay tournament entrance fees to use their facility? Yes we did.
The concession food is waaaaaayyyyyy overpriced and they didn’t have nearly enough help over Memorial weekend. Lines were long and somewhat unorganized.
They check the players bags upon entering to make sure they are not bringing anything in that they would sell at their concession stand so the kids could not bring in any sports drink to hydrate, only water. Fortunately it wasn’t extremely hot this weekend so it is kind of a mute point.
The fields themselves were in decent shape however one of the dugouts we were in, the water fountain was broken so there is definitely some upkeep that needs to be met.
Parking can be atrocious and it is adjacent to the CC Library however you’re not allowed to park in that lot. Sometimes you just need to bite the bullet and park on the street.

Wow i wish we had a place like this back in Iowa! They even have slow pitch batting cages here! Not much for compatition teams in Iowa are way better! Really cool consept! They have a bar and resturant there too! Staff is great!

I think it’s called Big League Field of Dreams, and couldn’t be more aptly named. The illusion is charming though easily shattered by the desert heat. Social Gourmand’s company softball team from NYC came for a tournament, and were kindly assigned to Yankee Stadium a couple of times. There was even a kind of «The Natural» feel to the plain «Des Moines» field.
We were thrilled to watch in such a nice facility, but the people who use it regularly are the lucky ones taking full advantage of the batting cages and kids’ playground.
Minus one star for collecting an entry fee from the registered tournament players.
