Cinemark Movies 10

I love the cheap prices of the movies but The Popcorn and two drinks 18.00 really. I guess they have to make money somehow. Also please sometime shampoo the carpets and clean the seats. I saw Furious 7 and the movie looked really old like it was printed in the seventies with all the scratches

I used to like this place too, but not any more.
The place is a little tired looking, but I will forgive that for the very low price of admission. I would even forgive that one of their old screens needed replacing it was so bad. But when you factor in most of the movies showing here are old and can be rented on disc or streamed from Netflix/​Amazon, this isn’t a bargain after all.
On a previous visit someone seemed to think it was ok to shout at the movie screen with occasional swear words. That’s one good reason to rent the movie and not have to endure selfish people that don’t give a damn about anyone else.
Today I went to see Furious 7. As soon as the movie started there were black lines running down most of the right side of the screen. I went to talk to someone and they told me the film was scratched and did I want to see Hot Pursuit as it was digital?
I was given a readmission ticket but to be honest I don’t see myself ever using it.
For me the best value movie ticket around is the Mary Pickford in Cathedral City. If you go to the first show of the day you can get a ticket for around $ 6.50. The experience more than makes up for the extra cost, the movies are new and everything — sound, picture, seating and customers — are far better!

I usually love this ratty old place… but imagine my dismay when the lights came up and there was a sleazy couple making out WITH THEIR THREE SMALL CHILDREN next to them who just watched from start to finish 50 Shades Of Gray! REALLY? Where is staff or management? I feel so sad and disgusted. No one around who would give a crap or even understand why this would be disturbing to any sane adult. An extremely graphic BDSM film and they aren’t checking every fifteen minutes for kids sneaking in?
Appalled.

I understand you get what you pay for, but this place is so dingy and beat up. The place is exactly the same as it was when my mom took me here to see Free Willy when I was 4 (22 years ago)… the seats are nasty and look as if you could get lice from them. Everytime I’ve gotten popcorn from here, it’s old and chewy… ick! I’ve been to two other «dollar theaters» and neither of those were nearly as bad as this one!
The only 2 good things about this place:
1) the price … can’t beat it
2) parking isn’t a hassle
If you like watching movies in a run-​down, crusty theater, then this could be the place for you!

The popcorn was so so. The «butter» tasted odd, and gave me craps. The employees were hanging out talking instead of doing their job. The place is FILTHY!!! The entry door was so grimy that I pushed the door open with one finger and my foot. The floors were sticky and dirty. I didn’t dare use the restroom. Cinimark, make you employees clean rather then bull$&;€.

Old movies, old building, trash and food all over the parking lot. Staff okay. Movie tickets were cheap. However food was pricey. Seats were old and small. But you can’t beat paying $ 2.00 to see a movie. You get what you pay for. Ill be back.

$ 2 admission. Slow nite. Popcorn was quite good. Theater is a bit dated, but for $ 2 who cares. Movie looked good and sounded fine. Staff was cordial enough.

Love being able to see a movie with my family without breaking the bank. The movies are ones that have been out for a while, but for price its worth the wait sometimes. The movie theater is a bit on the older side and the popcorn isn’t the greatest.

I checked out this movie theater when researching my weekend stay in the area; had no idea that it was a discounted theater so when I got 2 tickets for 5.00, I was excited. I went to see a late showing of Fast and Furious 6 and I don’t know if it was because it was late, but the entire theater was filthy. We were told by a staff worker that we had to wait so the theater we were to see the movie in could be cleaned but when they started letting us in, it did not look clean at all. sticky soda on the floor, popcorn on seats, just nasty.

I grew up going to this theater, and it used to be awesome. :)
Now…well, like they said before, often no one is there to take the tickets, kids go crazy, bathrooms are not maintained, But… there is literally nothing else to do in cathedral city! its cheap, conditioned, and relatively safe if you go in the day time.

Oh, come on, now, guys. The Dollar Theater is my DH’s favorite, and he is a film buff and an NYU film school graduate. He goes once a week; I go when there is an especially good movie or a chick’s flick.
On Mondays, Senior Tuesdays, and any matinée, it’s $ 1.25, so what’s your problem? A refillable tub of popcorn and a large drink (like Coke Zero) are $ 11.50 on special. Parking is free.
When I was in high school, my mother told me, «You are an inexpensive date, not a cheap one. Remember the difference.»
So, this is an inexpensive theater ticket. If you complain so much, brother, are you being cheap.
If a movie is not as good as you thought, at least you don’t feel ripped off. Most movies today are not that good anyway, at least not worth what the usual theater charges. This is a good deal if you’re not so fussy about a facility that may be about what your room was like in high school or so.
So here are some suggestions. Don’t go at night. Go on a school day. Don’t go on weekends; go on a weekday. If you go to a kids movie on weekends, school vacations or night, be prepared for kids. Use your noggin’ and you will do fine.

Was it just me? Or did my popcorn have butter all the way to the bottom?

I don’t know why I even bothered paying since there was nobody taking tickets or tell you where to go (good thing it’s not big, [that’s what she said] lol). We went for 75¢ Family Mondays where it is 75¢/per person for groups of three people or more; killer deal but you get what you pay for.
I didn’t check the bathrooms but after reading the reviews when I got home I’m glad I didn’t. Not to mention my cousin had the opportunity to check the men’s and I’m seriously laughing so hard right now. «dude, it was gross! There was pee on the floor and they just put a ‘wet floor’ sign on top of it.»
I can’t say I won’t go again but definitely want to check it out during the day time next time. Also never skipping review check before going somewhere. ;)

The recent review reminded me of the few times we went to «The Dollar Movies.»
If there is a Hell, this is the air conditioned one. You will find big families conversing with each other as though they were in their own living room; babies screaming and the mothers not removing themselves; children endlessly running up and down the aisles playing tag and the movies are not the pick of the crop.
Actually, I never felt unsafe in the area, but we haven’t been there for many moons and don’t intend to return.
If you want to atone and suffer for your sins, you should attend. I can think of no experience more painful and similar to self-​flagellating than spending two hours at the Cinemark Movies 10.

Considering that this is in the desert & extremely cheap, i’m giving this 4 stars.

Why? well, what else is there to do in the dirty desert except go to the mall, thursday night palm springs fair (Lameeee) & go to the movies. This is a movie, duh & its way cheap. $ 1.50 on tuesdays. $ 2 on all other days, even weekends. Yeah, of course the movies aren’t the ones that came out two days ago, but they are the movies that are only a couple weeks old.
Yes, the seats are old and looks stained but what do you expect for such cheap ticket prices. They obviously arent making much money. Just bring a blanket to put over the seat to make sure you don’t catch lice or any other gross things.
Did i mentions they have dollar hotdogs on some evenings? The rest of the drinks and popcorn and maybe candy can run you up to 10 dollars, but still its a fantastic deal that you cant miss.
OH AND ALSO.
theres nice cold air conditioning… woohooo :) That seals the deal yo.

It is very cheap (by comparison) for a movie theater, if you can wait a month or two from the initial release. I just saw a 3-​D feature (Rio) for $ 3.25.
Of course a Coke and popcorn will set you back $ 10, but the air conditioning is included! A good way to spend a hot summer afternoon.

Went to Cinemark last nite to watch «Tangled in 3D». The seating in auditorium 8 is comfortable, unlike the other auditoriums which have horrible seating. The bathrooms are gross, don’t go in there, wait and use the toilet elsewhere!
People nowadays are rude in the theatres. I hate seeing you texting, or your kids running around, or loud talking during the movie, but stuff happens.
Cinemark theaters is in a bad area of Cathedral City, so do not leave any valuables in your car. Also, park in front of the cinema, not on the side where its easier for criminals to break into your car.
For the price, Cinemark 10 is a no frills movie experience. You get what you pay for!

This theater is only «A-​OK» because of the price. Never really been there at night, so I do not know how ghetto it can get. I usually go during day light hours a watch a film or two.
Tuesdays are now $ 1.50…I mean really… what can one complain about at these prices.
FYI — my home theater is the Grove in LA…$ 12.50

$ 2 movies. It is dirty, the bathroom stalls are missing locks and it seems to be accepted that folks will go for one movie, and spend the afternoon at the theater. No skin off my back, but expect that your movie will be interrupted.

No one calls this place Cinemark. It’s the Dollar Theaters — or just Dollaz if you’re really down. Hands down, the sweetest movie theater on the planet.
Note I didn’t say the best. There’s a big difference.
More often than not, The Dollaz is actually a very poor place to try to concentrate on a movie. The seats aren’t very comfortable and it’s usually pretty noisy. But it is an awesome place to kill time when you’re inevitably bored in the desert.
Things I’ve seen/​experienced here:
— A friend talking to me while walking backwards and crashing into a stack of booster seats.
— Finding urine in the bathroom sinks (not enough stalls?)
— Parents bringing toddlers into R-​rated movies like Eyes Wide Shut, Apocalypse Now Redux and The Excorcist. Movies that will definitely scar those kids for life. And these movies are starting at 9 – 10 PM. I didn’t get to stay up that late until junior high!
— Again at Apocalypse Now, a person translating the entire film out loud for a Spanish-​speaking friend.
— 40-​ounce beers rolled down the floor.
— Constant heckling of movies like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and anything with Al Pacino in it. (If only I had gone when Scent of a Woman was playing! Non-​stop hoo-​has!)
— Beer thrown at the screen (they don’t actually sell beer here, btw)
— When the remade (and horrible) version of Planet of the Apes came out, they had the sound up so loud that my crew and I went to the bathroom to get TP to shove in our ears.
— Someone knocked over a ladder standing up in the bathroom. The crash echoed throughout the theaters and an employee chased the people across the street, yelling «Come back here you mothaf***as!»
— Movie hopping almost every time I came

— A crew of about 10 guys trying to sneak in, everyone dressed in sweat suits and carrying 40s. Real incognito, fellas.
— An employee busting someone with beer. The person claimed it was apple juice. The employee put a flashlight on the bottle to see if it was beer, but the person covered up the label with his hands. The employee asked him to move his hands, and the person responded «I’d prefer not to.» This went on for several minutes before the employee just gave up.
How can you not give this place five stars?
