Cosmic Comix and Toys has such a great atmosphere and wonderful comics and the service is so great. I really enjoy going here.

If I see a comic book store no matter when the lay time it was that I bought I have to stop in and check it out. And this place was a helluva surprise! Everything from it’s superhero ceiling tiles, to it’s vast and well-​kept back issue bins, to their all accommodating staff; I was wowed! And on top of it all I caught them on their «40% off Everything» Sale can’t beat that. You won’t believe all I got for just under $ 45!
If I had any gripe it’d be the lack of indy titles and I wasn’t all too wowed with the selection of action figures (just nothing that I couldn’t get elsewhere); no biggie tho. It’s not close to me but I’ll mos def stop by whenever I’m in the area.

Awesome store in my community! The have plenty of variety of comic books and novelty items. There are so many cartoons that have there own comic book. I was wowed. I fould them online looking for events that was free for kids for halloween. This store participates in Hallowfest for comics. This event happens in certian shops all over USA. The event includes for free comics books, candy, and a costume contest. They also have pumkin carving contest. Employees are very helpful here and very knowledgeable about most comics. they have plenty discounted comics and more. They have plenty events for the community children.
Will be back here asap!

Very clean and organized. I loved the series sales. During my visit I picked up 20 comics for just $ 8. No one else has that deal in the Maryland area. They do mailers for when they have blow out sales, sign up for them.

Clean and organized comic book store in Catonsville. I really liked my visit! A lot of great stuff to browse and talk about. The store is really neat with murals on the ceiling, I’ll definitely be back to check out the selection again. New stuff all the time.

This is my closest Comic Book Store, and I will be going on a regular basis. It has a big selection, with the new releases close by the door and then boxes and boxes of comics.
It’s toy selection is a little smaller than I am used to, but that didn’t stop me from buying some.
They were helpful when I was looking for some specific issues (even though they were out of Tomb Raider, bummer).
I don’t know if they do tabletop events, or any social things, but I sure intend to find out.

This is possibly the best you could hope for in a small shop. The walls are decked out with current releases, plenty of back issues in between, a good stock of graphic novels and a friendly staff.
There is always a sale of some kind going on, and email notifications will keep you tuned in to what those are. Locals with a pull list recieve additional discounts on nearly everything in store, with frequent additional bonuses just for picking up your books.
The only minor complaint I have is that most of the back issues are relatively recent, but it’s a small shop so I’m not docking it any points. I completely lucked out to have this shop nearby.

Came about this place when I moved out of Baltimore and into the county. One of the best shops I’ve ever visited. The selection is huge, the layout and organization is top notch and I’ve never had a problem when speaking with any of the employees. When I have a question they never point to an area, they walk me over to where the item may be. They also throw some dope Free Comic Book Day parties (early May each year). I always leave with a ton of great deals and free trades.
I probably drive by 2 shops on my way there, but this is the store I prefer.

A very nice store. A good selection of back issues, and its easy to get around. They even have a gift bag for first-​time customers. The only downside is that the actual address will appear as the back of the store on map sites. You have to know to pull around the building into a parking lot in order to get to the actual front door.

The selection at Cosmic is amazing. Tons upon tons of back issues and a good selection of current releases.
The reason for the poor rating is the customer service. I had went in once before with my GF looking for a hard to find issue of Batman #13 and sure enough they had plenty of copies when no other shop in the city had any left. One of the guys at the counter was pleasant and friendly. Impressed with their stock I decided to make the venture out again the following day and just look around.
Upon walking in I didn’t even receive so much as a hello, seeing as I never really looked around before I was still trying to figure out how their shelves are organized when a guy that I didn’t see the day before came from behind the counter looking slightly annoyed and appeared to be chewing seeds. He asked if I needed help. I said I was looking for a current issue of a Red Lanterns book and he sarcastically said «Welllll, that would be right over there in the new releases section, where it says new releases, it is the comic with all the Red writing that says Red Lanterns.»
I’m sorry, maybe this seems okay to some, but being talked to like a developmentally disabled child is not what I consider good business practice.
It was obvious from his tone that he was bothered to do his job which would be to sell customers comics which is unfortunate because I had went intending to buy myself a good present of a lot of back issues and some toys. Instead another shop in the city got my $ 150 that day.
Maybe he was having a bad day or just hates his job but either way this was more than enough to make me decide I will never give Cosmic Comix my business again!

THE. BEST. THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST. I can’t even tell you how incredibly awesome this place is. Everyone is super friendly, there are 10% off cards for frequent customers, they are nice and well-​informed, the sales are great, the layout of the store is great, everyone is super nice, especially to kids, it’s just the absolute best. Comic book stores are dying out, so if you like comics, heck, if you TOLERATE comics and you’re in the Catonsville area and you’re not buying from this store, you have no excuse. GO! HERE!

I’ve been back a few times now, and the «cool reception» was a one time thing. They are generally friendly, helpful, and willing to give helpful advice.

You know what, this is a great store. Plenty of room, a great selection of new and older comics, toys, and everything in between. The staff is friendly, and the store has that awesome comic book smell. Seriously, I can’t be the only one who likes that smell.

It says something to me that, even after I’ve moved to northern Virginia and technically exist about an hour away, I still keep a file at Cosmic and make sure I get the bulk of my comic collection (and therefore satisfy the reading habit) there.
The staff warms up to you, the discount is excellent, and the occasional back-​issue sales are right on target. I just wish I could get up there more than once every 7 or 8 weeks.
