Very friendly staff and I love the Greek salad. I like to sit in the bar or the outside dining area better than the indoor restaurant. Very few places have nice outside seating like they have.

They have the best grill cheese sandwich in the area. It is better than the grille cheese factory. The hot wings and fries are awesome

I live right near Dimitri’s, so and it used to be a great easy and quick meal. Lately when we’ve ordered, our orders have been messed up and the fries were cold. There are definitely many better options just a little bit farther.

If you’re looking for a place with a good family environment, great service and amazing food Dimitri’s is the place to be! My family and I have been here many times. The waitresses are always so cheerful and wonderful and the food is always superb. The greek salad is the best around. The romaine is always so fresh and crisp, with the combination of fresh dill, feta, and their house dressing, it is out of this world. I love their warm and flaky spinach pies. The salmon souvlaki is my go to entrée(two skewers with big chunks of salmon onions and peppers) but i also love their ribs. The meat just falls right off the bones. Honestly I haven’t had anything that wasn’t amazing there!

Went to Dimitri’s for dessert with the family last week. We sampled one of nearly every dessert. Consensus was: Bread Pudding was off the charts good.

To start off I not sure why the people and staff was so rude, it’s not like if you Don’ have a full house you can afford to be irreverent and belittling. We waited 10 minutes till we had a waitstaff person became attentive. When I asked for water with 4 – 5 lemons the look the waiter gave me was one which you would expect if you got caught stealing. Seems like a lot of things on the menu, I ordered the calamari, a Greek salad and a gyro. I wanted for sagannaki but they said they were out. Well if there was a three strike rule they would be out. The calamari was greasy and that is the worst. The salad must have been from lunch and was what I would say not pretty lettuce, there were white veins and black spots and it was wilted. And finally the gyros could have been called the weightwatchers gyros, no meat and it was the thinnest least filled processed steakums meat I have ever seen. This was my second time I have eaten here and I will not be back and if you know Greek food you will not come once. Now if you want bland mediocre food that is not cheap well this may be for you. The Big Greek Café and fries blows this Gyros away.

After giving Dmitri’s another try, I was really glad to see that things had improved. The staff was extremely friendly, the hostess and waitress were great. The bathrooms were immaculate. The dining room was full of people. The food was still mediocre, though. Except for the amazing Greek Salad. The dish with vegetables«balsamica» just tastes like soy sauce on sautéed veggies. The chicken in the tacos was amazing, but the sauces and pico on them were put on too soon and let to sit warm under a lamp, rather than putting it on immediately before it left the kitchen, which made them not taste as good as they could have. The food for the kids was great and the portions were huge, so we brought home left overs of kids spaghetti. Overall, it was much better than when we went in the fall, but I just wish the food were tastier.

OK, this place is amazing I like a good Greek salad. They are pretty easy to make and it’s hard to screw one up. It’s also hard to make one excellent. Theirs is excellent. It has fresh dill in it that tastes great. Also, not sure why it’s not on the Unilocal menu, but they have a few other dressings. I can’t remember the name, but one is made with«wet hots» in a creamy base and it’s so damn good. Best Greek salad I have ever had. That includes Samos Sour beef n dumplings. 10⁄10. Super ginger snappy, rich, dense dumplings, tender beef. Amazing. Shrimp Oreganato. 10⁄10. Super butter rich with a great lemon taste slicing through the richness. Large tasty shrimp. I really only ever get these 2 entrees and always get the same salad. Every time I have been there with other I have tasted a bit of whatever. It’s always very good. The back deck is facing a nice wooded area that is killer in good weather. Don’t pass this up next time you are on Fredrick Rd

Finally made it here after hearing from many. The mezze platter was incredibly delicious. The death by chocolate was amazing– even for a non chocolate lover like myself. It was a nice change to have a simple side of fresh steamed broccoli. I’m so used to getting old, overly buttered and cooked veggies, it was great to have something crisp on the side. Elizabeth was the best waitress I’ve ever had. We were beyond impressed with her friendly demeanor and attention. They clearly care about their clientele here.

All of the locals seem to love this place. I don’t really understand. Everything tastes fine but nothing is special or outstanding. I went here once with a party of 12 people and all of the food was just mediocre.

We have been coming to Dimitris for many, many years and have always been very happy with the food and service. The stuffed grapes leaves are some of the best as is the tzatiki, hummus, Mykonos salad and so many other items on the menu. But be careful if ordering the Saganaki, it is not the Kasseri cheese it is suppose to be. It is a soft crumbly cheese like feta rather than the soft stringy cheese they have served in the past. Other than the Saganaki I think you will be happy with anything on the menu.

Ehhhhhhhhh. Tried this place a few weeks ago. Myself and BF started off with the hummus plate which was really pretty awesome. The presentation was pretty cool too! We had the gyros as our main course. The Dimitri’s menu offers gyros as a vegan option, which is really nice. We didn’t expect to see many vegan options when we moved out of Baltimore, so we were excited. Unfortunately, the vegan gyros are actually a wrap with a handful of spring mix and a few pieces of chopped onion and lettuce. Nothing else. No sauce, no hummus, completely dry. They mention«greek salad» goes in it, but the lettuce to tomato/onion ratio was probably about 47:1. It was gross. I had to put some ketchup on to give it flavor. I know that sounds like the grossest thing ever, and that’s because it is. Drinks were strong, décor was nice. The fries were also crazy good — light and crispy and just right. The high point of the meal was our waitress. She was on point and went out of her way to accommodate us. She couldn’t have been friendlier. Regardless, the meal was a little disappointing and I don’t think we’ll be back.

I’ve passed by this place a few times heading to and fro Ellicott City and always thought it looked a little cheesy from the outside, but we stopped in for a late night bite after hiking on Sunday and we were very pleased. Sausage, orzo and kale soup was absolutely delicious, greek salad was classicly perfect, with fresh feta. The grape leaves were a highlight for sure, I’d say hands down the best I’ve ever had, also served with hunks of fresh feta cheese and kalamata olives. The Tuscan Shrimp and Sausage dish was a little disappointing — although the sausage was excellent, the sauce didn’t seem to work well with the shrimp and gave them a strange taste that we couldn’t put our fingers on. The service was very kind and patient — we were the last table seated around 10pm on Fathers Day night… but they gave us no flack and poured a pretty stiff manhattan! It was a great experience, and I’d love to go back. It’s the kind of place where you take your whole family and make warm memories.

My go-to place for a greek salad. The portions are huge, the ingredients are fresh, and I personally like to top mine with shrimp. The martinis are well-made, and filled to the tip top! They usually have some creative specialty drinks as well. Try their spicy feta crap dip. It’s very, very good and the bread that it is served with is fresh and warm. The servers are hit or miss and the décor is a little cheesy, but it’s a solid choice for a local dinner out in the Catonsville/Ellicott City area.

I had completely written off Dimitri’s back in middle school after having a disappointing gyro. So I was unenthused when my friends suggested it for dinner a few nights ago. I was surprised at the number of vegetarian options they offer and decided on the eggplant rollantine. I’m glad I got the half portion because it was more than enough. It was kind of like eggplant parmesan meets lasagna. Baked eggplant with ricotta cheese and marinara. Very delicious, way better than I expected. It also comes with a side of broccoli so you can pretend you just had a healthy dinner. Overall I’d say it’s a nice place to go with family or a group of friends.

I admit: I saw the low Unilocal score and I kinda shuddered when a friend was making me eat there. We walked into the very old school, 80s-style Greek restaurant(complete with absolutely FABULOUS murals of the grecian coast line and fake stone balcony) and my concern grew, a bit… BUTBUTBUT! EXCELLENT service mixed with pretty solid Greek favorites makes me a straight up fan of Dimitri’s. When I was a bit standoffish from the Greek traditionals(assuming that a dual menu of pub food and Greek meant someone was in love with the deep fryer and not much else!), the super pleasant server invited me to sample some of the soups I was interested in. LEGIT. Completely won me over and I realized: there’s a reason this place has stuck around since the 60s. Dimitri’s, I will be back! And this is a gal who’s been all over Greece and loves her Greek food, family, & friends(in that order ;P) — thanks for bringing solid Greek favorites to Howard County!

I can’t say a bad thing about this place. The first thing that struck me was that the menu was a little strange. Yes, we were eating in the bar so there was lots of standard bar fare: wings, rings, calamari(ok, that last one is a stretch). The next thing I saw was all the greek food. It looked great, but was a strange match with the pub food. My buddy, who is a regular, said that everything was done right and the owners really work on getting things to be just so. Boy was he right. Our table had a bit of everything over a few hours. We ate, drank and had a good time. The service was outstanding – she kept the diet cokes coming long after I’d had my one beer – a dark something that was on tap. For dinner I ate the lamb sliders. Wow were they good. After all the appetizers we had I was unsure if I was going to be able to eat much more. But after a single bite I knew I was going to finish. The meat seemed to be ground up gyro, and there was a semi-spicy sauce(I think the menu said what it was, but we were ordering and eating slow and I have forgotten). The combination was perfect, and they came on these little, round rolls that were butter toasted on both sides. Forget what it is, just eat them. They were just right. I am sure desert would have been great but there was just no way that was going to happen. I can’t say enough good things. I loved the Baltimore murals inside. I don’t get near Catonsville/Old Ellicot City much, but I think I just found a reason to make the trip.

I ran across this place driving down the road, and looked at the Unilocal reviews, and decided to try it. First off, it is huge! They could probably seat a party of a 100! There was several rooms I saw out of the corner of my eye, that I didn’t even enter. Wow… talk about prime real estate! I had a simple Greek Salad and had some pita with the famous Greek dipping sauce. I also had a House Sangria. I thought everything was pretty good! I wouldn’t rate it in the category of Samos in Baltimore… but it was good. I look forward to trying a few more menu items.
