Absolutely great experience with Wegener, and I gotta say they’re really great people. I’m usually a bit leery of independent computer businesses, but these guys(and girls) go WAY above & beyond, in my opinion… I first found them on Amazon and bought some parts. They sold me a $ 3 part, delivered it WAY early, then took the time to do a follow up email just to make sure I was happy with it. I was so pleasantly surprised, that when I needed a computer for one of my kids, I ordered a used Macbook from them for Christmas. Again, it came early, and was in better shape than even I(a picky Mac guy) was expecting! Last week I needed an odd adaptor, and called to see if they had it. The guy who helped me was super nice, but told me straight up «We have it, but honestly, I know you can get it cheaper and faster if you call these folks», and he gave me the contact for a competitor, because he felt it would serve me better. Not only that, he helped me think thru a couple of connection & adaptor issues I was unclear on, spending another 5 minutes of time just HELPING me! That is customer service. They could’ve taken my money and made a few dollars, but they cared more about me and my needs than making a buck. WOW. I will definitely be back for my next purchase from them.

I just purchased a used Macbook Pro from their web site. The price was great for the computer I got. The«cosmetic rating» was an 8, which they define as «Good overall condition, with light blemishes». I have to say that, if there ARE any blemishes, I can’t see them. I’m very pleased with the computer. On another note, I originally ordered in the afternoon(from California) as 2-day shipping, but I didn’t receive a confirmation email for some reason. I called the next morning to confirm they had received my order. I was told they had received the order. I asked if I could upgrade the shipping to next-day shipping and they did it with no problem and for a very reasonable shipping upgrade fee($ 10). I received the laptop on Friday. Excellent customer service and shipping speed.

I purchased a trackpad for a Macbook Pro from amazon. The first one arrived in a few days but after working only one day it stopped completely. I called and they seemed to question how that was possible and they were sure there was something else involved or i did something wrong. I put my old one back in and it worked just as it did before. I took it into the Apple store and they confirmed that my trackpad was bad. They issued an RMA and I sent it back in. After getting it they waited another 3 – 4 days. When i called them they said it was in «Testing». They finally called and said they would send a replacement. The whole thing took about 3 weeks. I understand that defective things get by but their response was very slow. Not impressed.

STEERCLEAROFTHISCOMPANY!!! UNPROFESSIONALANDRUDE!!! Shipping was fast. Customer support(Katyln) was nice, but not knowledgable. She tries to assist your needs, but has no authority in management type questions. Always has to put you on hold to speak to a manger. But… She tries. I will give her a 3⁄5. I bought two Macs and returned both. First one, had a software issue immediately when I turned it on. They wanted me to return it for a warranty repair. I ordered and paid 55.00 for next day air, for what? For a non working computer which now they want to do A warrenty repair when it left their store defective??? Also, They would not refund my 55.00 next day air shipping fee for the defective useless computer they sent to me. Thanks to paypal backing me up, I will be getting my full credit. Second computer I ordered, I turned it on, did a upgrade on the software, it started to overheat. The base of the computer had gotten so hot, it was untouchable. Wegener Media stated«this is normal». I wasnt taking the chance burning my leg, or a hole through my cushions on my couch. They stated, «its only meant for a table top». Lol. I again returned it. They again, would not issue a shipping reimbursement, for the secong defective computer I received. Again, I asked my shipping charges to be reiumbursed. This time only spent 18.00 in shipping just incase I got another defective computer. Working with Paypal through this whole scandal. Paypal issued my full payment to both computers. Especially after WEGENERMEDIATHREATENED to keep all my financial info on the computers I returned because I would not pay them a 60.00 swipe fee for the hour I did use the computer to order my new one. Maybe this is how they make their money, since they do not have any knowledge in computers. They run a great scam operation if you ask me. I ended up ordering from Mechanical Roses off Ebay, and WOW. Excellent computer, and no charge for second day air shipping. Excellent customer service and product. Thank you Mechanical Roses.

First off, they’ve moved locations. They’re now on Taylor St., just past the Township Auditorium. In December of 2009, I brought my powerbook G4 to them to replace the logicboard. I had a great experience with them and the service was both friendly and fast. So, naturally, when something happened to my powerbook in early February of this year(2011), I returned with expectations of the same fast and friendly service. What I got was definitely friendly. But it was far from fast. I brought in my computer to them on February 2nd. I was told it’d take 5 – 7 days to diagnose the problem. After waiting 9 days without hearing anything, I called in. I was told over the phone what the problem was. But, once I started asking questions, they couldn’t be answered, because the tech who was assigned to my machine was gone for the day. So, my computer stayed on their shelf over the weekend. I was told that the tech would call me on Monday with the answers to my queries. He didn’t. I waited 3 more days and called back. At this time(the count is now at 14 days) I gave the go ahead to fix the issues. I was told it would be 2 – 3 days for the parts to come in and the computer would be fixed and ready to pick up. It being Wednesday, and President’s day being on Monday, I figured Tuesday the 22nd would be the magic day. It wasn’t. Instead, I called back on the 23rd(the count now being at 21 days) and was told no parts, no fix. It would be longer. Fast forward to 3÷7÷11(count now at 33 days), I picked up my computer. I brought it home, operated it for 20 minutes, and it broke again. I called, and brought it back the next morning. They had it for another three days.(36) After bringing the machine home for 2 days, I noticed the speakers were sounding differently than they did when I originally submitted the machine. Since the same issue had occurred in December of 2009(and they fixed it then), I resubmitted the machine on Monday, the 14th. I told Chris(who is great, by the way) exactly how to reproduce the malfunctioning sound. After waiting another two weeks, I finally picked up the machine without the speakers being repaired.(I was told they could not reproduce the issue. Even though, when I picked it up, I reproduced it right there.) During those two weeks, I called twice to ask for an update. Both times, I was told I’d be called back. Both times I wasn’t. So, I was without my machine(which I need for my job) for a total of 50 days. I have a new logicboard, but speakers that aren’t working properly. And I can’t imagine wanting to re-re-submit my machine to them, as I don’t want to be without it for another long period of time. I understand that sometimes repairs take time. But I became very frustrated at the extended time it took to repair plus the lack of communication from them to me. I’m tremendously dissatisfied with this last service that I was provided. If my computer needs further repair, I’m going to explore other options first.
