Specialties
Come and relax in an old dairy barn built in 1925, while enjoying delicious homemade pastries, desserts, and a soup, sandwich and quiche lunch. We also feature a full coffee bar, complete with a bottomless cup of self serve coffee. You will be surrounded by unique Iowa made crafts, lotions, candles, gifts and gourmet food items. The hay loft is filled with antiques and primitives so there is something for everyone to enjoy in this classic Iowa farm setting. Groups are welcome, however if you have more than 4 in your party, and desire to eat lunch, we recommend calling ahead for better service.
History
Established in 2003.
Our family bought the acreage in 1997, and after our children started school I was looking for something more to do. After much prayer, we took a leap of faith and did something most people called crazy! My husband and many other family members and friends helped us convert the dairy barn built in 1925, into the store and eatery it is today. It was quite a task as we had 250 hogs to move out of the lower level and 500 bales of straw to remove from the loft. After a year of scraping, shoveling, power washing, bleaching and remodelling we opened for business the Spring of 2003. From the beginning, we have placed a high priority on offering genuine hospitality and made from scratch food to fit with the authentic nature of the old barn.
