Live Adventure

My girlfriend was coming in town for 1 of the 4 times I get to see her this summer so I booked a 2 hour kayak rental with these guys. We drove an hour to get there and paid the $ 14 to get in the park only to sit around waiting for 4 hours as nobody showed up. I left multiple voicemails and emails with them, but nobody ever showed up that day. What a huge disappointment.

I got a kayak rental for Live Adventure through Groupon for Joe Pool Lake and confirmed a reservation. When I got there, there was no clear sign of Live Adventure, just a trailer with prices for kayak rental. The owner didn’t even show up despite my reservation and failed to return any of my phone calls and messages. I ended up going swimming and was there for 3 hours. Still no show.
WHAT A HORRIBLE BUSINESS!
There were other people hanging around the trailer waiting to rent kayaks too.
A couple of friends went kayaking the week before and apparently there were a lot of reservations that day or something as they got to go. They said that the guy was all over the place and it took forever to get their rental too.
Thankfully, Groupon addressed this right away gave me a refund.

We purchased a mountain biking-​kayak rental combo on living social over a month in advance. We received our confirmation emails and all looked well until we showed up to find no representative from Live Adventures there to meet us. We waited there for an hour and made numerous phone calls to the number listed but got a voicemail each time. I do not recommend anyone to use a company that does not take their business seriously. I bought this as a birthday gift for my boyfriend and so you can imagine both of our disappointment to have paid $ 14 just to get into the park only to sit in our car for an hour waiting around with no one even bothering to show up. Very disappointed!

These guys screwed me over. I tried booking a month before a coupon expired, but they had no trips available. The latest email said, «Sorry. We book out months in advance». I requested that they refund my money or allow me to come after the expiration because there was no mention of needing to book months in advance. They told me to take it up with Living Social and they have a notoriously bad reputation for never, ever refunding money. So I’m out $ 200 and there in no recourse… Oh, they offerred to let the four of us come take a trip for an extra $ 160. No thanks.
Steer clear of these guys.
