Welcome to Cedar Key Island, one of the few remaining Northwest Nature Coast fishing villages. Cedar Key is located on the West Coast of Florida about two miles out into the Gulf of Mexico nestled among small uninhabited wildlife refuge islands. Daily boat tours provide ample opportunities for bird watching and photography of such abundant wildlife as herons, egrets, pelicans, ospreys, eagles, roseate spoonbills and ibis. Cedar Key is a fisherman’s delight with willing guides who can help you catch that trophy tarpon, grouper, or red-​fish, collect blue or stone crabs, scallops or oysters, observe turtles, manatees, playful dolphins, or hunt for sand dollars and horseshoe crabs.
