Been open for 25 years and it hasn’t been added on Unilocal?!WTF?! Bartender friend of mine was having her birthday here, I said I might make it ‘n swing by and I’m kinda glad I did. First off, this place has Karaōke on Sundays. I’m ½ Filipino, upon birth we get a Birth Certificate and a Magic Sing karaōke machine, of course I’m gonna like this place. Parking at Shane’s is limited, there’s spots right in the front of the building and a few on the side. It’s not«bad» but, Lake Shore Dr. can get a little busy so backing out could be troublesome. They’ve got Pizzas, Pretzels, Hot Dogs and a good variety of bar junk food. The listing of food items can be found by looking up at the laminated papers above the bar. A 7″ cheese OR sausage pizza is about $ 5 — not a bad deal. I haven’t gotten a chance to try the food *Yet but, when I asked some of the people I met up with the general consensus was that«It ain’t bad». If you play pool there are two tables here as well as an electronic dart game. The cues seem in pretty decent shape, they even have those rubber butts on ‘em still — Bonus. The men’s room is pretty small — 2 toilets and a sink. Remember that old term«Water Closet»? Yup — that’s the size of it; a closet. No doors to the two stalls(no room) just a privacy curtain. Other than it being close quarters and all that, it’s clean and stocked with extra paper towels and soap. The patrons all seemed real friendly in that«down-southy» way. Quick with a joke and a «Hey how ya’s doin’?» I like this little place, it’s got that«home bar» feel. Great little place to grab a brew and play a few rounds of pool. Check it out if you’re in the area. SYOY
