John D.

Business Owner

John Durant C.I.D. began his career in the field of design and interior decorating at a young age. Enlisting in the United States Marine Corps Reserves straight out of high school, he was assigned to the engineer maintenance company in Wichita, Kansas, as a Fabric Repair Specialist. For six years, four of which he was a Section Head, John honed his skills in sewing and fabricating different textiles, such as tents, parachutes, etc. While attending college, John worked at Sherwin Williams Paints for three years, where he learned the ins and outs of chemical coatings, applications and color matching. Working for a merchandising vendor, John traveled the United States building and setting up new product lines in The Home Depot and Lowes. He also has seven years of experience at various home furnishing stores, such as Pottery Barn and Bed, Bath and Beyond, as a visual merchandiser and manager.

John studied art at the University of Central Oklahoma and Interior Design at ACC in Austin, TX.
