Flex Fit Gym 24/7

we tried to cancel our membership here because we got a new free gym.
the young girl at the desk didn’t have anything to give us for the cancelation, she just said that we’d see a charge for $ 30ish dollars on our account and that meant the cancelation was processed correctly. the cancelation fee was charged to our account within a day.
fast forward three months, and they’re still charging us $ 20 per month.
when we called them, they were closed, but they called us back promptly and they were initially very helpful. they said they’d get it processed and call us back within the week. they never called. when we called them back, it sounded like they’d changed their mind — they wanted to know what proof we had that we’d canceled (none, which is their fault and not ours), they told us they had to escalate the request.
they said it would be done by thursday. we decided to give them until over the weekend just in case it might come through friday. no dice.
so they’re really great at taking your money but not good at giving money that isnt theirs back. i’m really hoping to get this resolved so i can change my review — it wasn’t a terrible gym, they just have a lot to learn about running a business, and they need to stick to their word to differentiate themselves from the other gyms.

Horrible place cancellation fees beware they say no fees no hassle no contract. So not just $ 9.95. Month but 29.95 for a «gym facility maintenance «29.95 cancellation fee to stop going. They say it’s something explained but I know I did not hear that or I would’ve not signed up– so read the fine print if it’s even there? Save yourself the problems and go to cedar park rec were they’re honest people and no fees to cancel for real.

I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. This gym is super unprofessional. I signed up with the owner of the Cedar Park location and was never told about a cancellation fee that needs to be paid after you cancel a month to month membership. This was not a contract just a month to month which is why I did it to begin with. I stopped by the Round Rock location and was told I had to pay $ 50 to get out of month to month. I called the Cedar Park location and threw a fit. The owner then said ti was $ 29. It is just a shady deal. I am waiting to see if the keep charging my card. If so it is going to be a HUGE problem for them.

I am not sure why there are so many terrible reviews on here because I have been part of this gym for a while now and I think the owners have been great and very helpful. I left Gold’s Gym here in Cedar Park because it was always a three ring circus of meat heads and there was never any bench available. For 10 dollars a month, you really can’t beat Flex Fit. The people that come here are much more down to earth and seem to be courteous in general with the equipment and making sure they aren’t taking your area if you’re using it. It’s not going to the Ritz for the price, but their equipment is in great shape and they have all the free weights you could ask for. I am glad I found this gym and I am excited to continue with them.

Sent me to collections and kept charging me after i had canceled my membership when I didn’t owe anything when I canceled. Super unprofessional and shady.

Best gym I have ever been apart of. Jason and his staff do an amazing job of making sure you have a great experience every time.

I had a membership with Fitness 19, which closed its doors to members without notice. There were 2000 of us whose memberships were transferred to Flex Fit without authorization. This company demanded we show up in person to sign a cancellation form to stop their monthly billing on our accounts. I have not attended this gym and have been billed monthly. After having double foot surgeries and released to drive, I signed their cancellation form in person. They told me they required 30 days notice to cancel and I owed an annual fee. I never signed a contract with them, nor did I receive 30 days notice from Fitness 19 when they cancelled OUR memberships. Flex Fit did NOT have my new credit card number, either, so this is concerning that they were able to find my new account number and charge an additional $ 69.00!
If I had considering joining, this company’s unethical practices would steer me clear away from them. Beware before you try this one!

Fees to join and fees to leave. stay clear of this company. We left the Whitestone store because of the poor conditions of the equipment and the place was getting smelly.

Flex Fit is a great community; Jason and the staff is amazing at coming alongside members; they offer incredible free services with membership… very grateful for this gym!!!

I go to Carolina’s work out classes 5/​week and love it. I look forward to go. Most of the staff are friendly. The price is great. I live in Lago Vista and the drive is worth it. I don’t have children so I don’t know how the childcare is. Sometimes I’ll use the equipment and have no complaints. I think the price for how many classes I take is worth it by itself. The equipment is a bonus.

Had a membership with this gym that used exclusive for the group classes. They were great, but times didn’t fit my schedule and stopped going. When I finally went in to terminate my membership, I had a balance on my acct. I got a hard sell to keep my membership (which I didn’t appreciate), but filled out the form and paid my balance. When I rec’d a bill the next month, called to ask why and was told I cancelled after the due date and still had another month left to pay.
This would have been nice to know at the time I cancelled. I would’ve paid it right then to avoid the hassle. The guy I worked with never mentioned it. The guy on the phone essentially called me a liar saying their staff always tells people about the extra month when they cancel.
This gym has some great group classes and leaders, but they’re business practices suck. I know better now — I’ll never go back.

You know. I wanted to try and give them a shot. I mean, come on, as a new mom with a 9month old child I’ve been on the hunt for something affordable with childcare. Although this place fits the bill on paper, when touring the facility my husband and I were not pleased.
While on our tour, we had our sleeping son in his stroller and were told to bring him into the childcare room so we could finish our tour. The childcare looked grimey and dingy. and although I was reluctant from the looks of the place, I left him sleeping in his stroller thinking the 2 minutes on our tour wouldn’t be an issue. Well I thought wrong. When we returned from our tour the two childcare girls were still sitting together talking where they had been when we left and proceeded to tell me, «he started crying when you left.», they hadn’t even bothered to pull back his canopy to try and talk to or soothe him!!! REALLY?! I didn’t expect them to pick him up, but at least to acknowledge him.
They have your basic cardio, wieght & squat rack but it didn’t look like it was kept in the best shape or cleanliness.
As if the condition of the dingy facility wasn’t enough to deter us from joining, the brief experience with their child care was horrible & I would not trust leaving my child there.
The man who gave us a tour and overview of the gym was great but overall the quality (or lack there of) drove us away. At a low rate of $ 10, you get what you pay for– we opted to spend more and went elsewhere.

Ok place but these people don’t understand how to manage money, a critical issue for business.
If your account was transferred, without your permission, by the moribund Fitness 19, I advise you to close that transferred account first as soon as possible (get this in writing, unless you like being in he-​said-​she-​said Hades). This will ensure that you get the best prices that Flex Fit offers (10/​month or 20/​month) compared to the nonsense rates Fitness 19 was charging you. Further, any billing snafus due to bad record transfers will not be corrected by Flex Fit’s non-​existent billing office, causing you a recurring headache.
As for the gym, it is sparse, not staffed often, and kind of smelly. I have moved on.

Love this gym! Definitely not fancy, not the best equipment, but great people! All the members are very friendly and some of the staff is very personable. If you’re looking for a simple gym for cheap, I highly recommend this one.

I was enticed into Flex Fit with the ‘great’ price they offer and all of ‘amenities’ included with the membership. Unfortunately, their advertising is all a farce to get you in the door and obtain your credit card information.
I had issues from the get go, which are nothing compared to the billing nightmare I recently experienced. (Although, I WOULD NOT recommend leaving your children with the girl attached to her cell phone… And, I would definitely make sure you sanitize every machine before you use it!, tanning bed included.)

From the start I have had billing issues. I was charged 2 months of membership fees after being told it would be waived since I am a Costco member. I was promised a credit (Although a refund should have been given…) and told my Feb. dues would be waived + an additional credit.
However, at the beginning of February, I got an email saying my account was past due. The previous week I had noticed a charge on my bank account for Feb, but had not had the opportunity to call about it yet. I immediately called after receiving the email and the girl who answered the phone attempted to accuse me of having insufficient funds, which I promptly informed her was 100% incorrect. Not only had I already been incorrectly charged at sign up, I was also charged for a month that was suppose to be covered by my ‘credit’. After a few minutes on hold, she was able to ‘find’ my payment and said my account was up-​to-​date, but she completely failed to address the credit issue before hanging up.
The whole thing seemed fishy, so I contacted my bank to make sure there had been no issues on their end. Funny thing was, they said the gym tried to charge me MULTIPLE TIMES and their fraud system prevented the additional charges from going thru. As a precaution, I cancelled my debit card and ordered a new one. I figured if the rest of the month went by with no other issues I would give them another opportunity and hope my first two months had just been a fluke thing.
BUT, then I got yet another email saying my account was past due. This time, I wasn’t too happy and their WORTHLESS manager Jason decided to call me in response to a complaint email I sent. He again tried to tell me that my payment for Feb had been declined and additionally that my yearly dues had been rejected (because I cancelled my card…) I informed him of the entire situation and then he saw ‘notes on my account’ about it all. He said he would ‘do me a favor’ and credit my account for the original membership fees and ‘just to be nice’ he would cover my dues for March. I told him that was fine and all, but why on earth was I being charged yearly dues when I was told that fee was charged in the Fall? His response: I must have misunderstood. And, then he preceded to tell me that my membership (which was current) would not be valid until I had updated my debit card.

No, I’m sorry, I did not misunderstand. I was told that my original membership fees would be waived — They weren’t. I was told I would be given a credit — I wasn’t. I paid for a membership that included daycare & tanning — but their office ‘staff’ prevented me from using it. I provided my credit card for them to charge me $ 20 monthly — they TRIED to double and triple that amount. And, then they wanted the number for my new debit card? I don’t think so poncho.
As far as I’m concerned, they can take their broken gym equipment, horrible customer service, unsanitized tanning beds, and poor management staff and SHOVE IT! There are better gyms in the area, that actually cater to families and care to keep their customers. It’s worth it for me to pay $ 20 to my new gym and an additional $ 30 for tanning just to avoid this dump.

My co-​worker and I joined last month. I have been coming here 2 – 3 times per week (usually between 5:30−7pm) and have been pleased so far. I started out at the $ 9.95/mo rate. That gives you use of weights and machines only. I just upgraded to the VIP membership (All-​Access) since I like the group classes. There are plenty of treadmills and elliptical machines, a couple of stair-​steppers and recumbent bikes. I have not encountered a time when all the machines have been in use. They have added more weight machines and space is a little tight in the weight-​area, but it’s workable. The locker room is nice but the lockers are a bit of a problem – some are locked (I guess bc people don’t understand how to work them), so I just use the lockers that are open (hoping that no one wants to steal my work clothes). It would be nice if someone would go and unlock all the locked ones. I have been doing the BodyPump classes. The instructor (Jessica) is awesome! She knows her stuff, is in incredible shape and encourages you at all the right times. There is only one group class room, so you are running into people when classes change from one to another, but that’s not a huge problem. I haven’t used the child care, hair cut, trainers, or tanning beds, so I don’t have an opinion on those (yet). The front desk (Alan) has been very nice and helpful. He upgraded my membership with no problems or issues. I have not encountered any «snotty front desk girls», so maybe she/​they left to work elsewhere.
Overall, for the price, I am very happy with Flex Fit. Especially since I found out that I can bring a guest every time that I come to workout (they can only use the weights and machines). It’s included with the VIP ($ 24.95/mo) membership! Now my husband and I can work out for the same price. Much cheaper than some other gyms in the area.

I want to start out by saying Flex Fit is a simple gym, but it is a straight to point and I personally prefer that over a glitz and glam gym. I dont need a 5,000 dollar waterfall out front or state of the art mega screens project «crap». Flex Fit gets 5 stars because it is a straight forward gym. My first impression when walking in was there will be sales rep or «personal trainer» who has never lifted a weight in his life and wanted to sell me everything. That WAS NOT THE CASE.
My first contact at this gym in Cedar Park was Allen. Allen by far shot everything to me straight, offered me a tour though I told him one was’nt necessary. He has the kinda spark you want in a front facing staff! He is very reputable at the gym I later learned becuase he is truely a people person. His goal in my eyes, which I believe is just a natural born talent, is to offer the best overall experience while expressing his character to those he comes in contact with.
Other staff members there have been great and see them working with clients to create good experience.
I train primarily in the evenings and am familiar with the «access to members only locked doors». I believe this by building design is only way to create security or the gym rat sneaking in. At the same token it hinders new people from being able to «come in» persay and get the experience. I noticed in other comments this created more problems than what is was in place for. As a member it works just fine but I can see the issue. Possible solutions should be thought of but due to Logistics I cannot think of any for the way the structure is set up.
Overall I appreciate the straight forward gym, but that’s me… Some people prefer to pay higher memberships and then not SHOW UP. I am not in the business of wasting money… I am in the business of developing my body both nutrionally and through fitness.

I’ve enjoyed FlexFit. It’s 9.95 with 24 hour access and it’s a few minutes from my house. They have all the cardio and weight training equipment I need. Everything is new, and a couple of days ago, I saw some new machines brought in. I have this membership along with another one that has really good boxing classes, but to stay conditioned I need to run. and sometimes that is at 1 or 2am in the morning. This has met my needs, and again for 9.95 it’s a great deal.

My husband and I stopped by here, around 3pm during «staffed» hours for a tour, with the mindset that we definitely wanted to join.
We get to the gym and the door is locked, as we expected. However, there is no one at the desk. We knock repeatedly. No answer. We double check the times on the door. we are well within the staffed hours. There is a number on the door, so we call. No answer, and we leave a message along with our phone number, expressing our interest in the gym, and stating that no one is answering the door. We wait about more 10 minutes and a member shows up. We politely ask her how she likes the gym, and if she wouldn’t mind finding a staff member to help us. She agreed. We continue to wait outside.
Another person shows up, wanting a tour just like us. We tell him we’d been there about 20 minutes, trying to find someone to answer the door. He couldn’t believe it, since the gym was supposed to be staffed. The member comes out and apologizes. She couldn’t find a staff member to help us. She said there was no one there at all.
We spent about a half an hour waiting outside the gym, in the 100º temps. during staffed hours, trying to get in so we could become a member. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking that someone must be there. possibly on another tour, or with another member. We left, disgusted. as did the other gentleman who was waiting.
We never got in. We never got a call back. Needless to say, we will look elsewhere. Loss of 3 potential new members? Not good. At the very least, I thought we’d get a call back. I wonder how many other potential members walked away that day?
