History

Established in 2000.

Ursula took over an 800 sf frame shop called Hang Ups, the smallest in the Austin area in 2000. Until 2008, the store grew every year 15−20%, to a 1700 sf framing shop plus a 1000 sf gallery. We won several picture framing award in the yearly competitions of the Professional Picture Framer Association. From stamp sized frames to incredibly fine carved elephant tusks, from huge mirrors to 134×78 inch large museum pieces from china, old posters new posters, you name it — customers allow picture framers to see the world. Thank you.

Unfortunately in 2009, as we all know, the world economy and the housing market collapsed, and Hang Ups could not hang in there longer. But now we are back, HAng Ups can Hang your artwork again in fine frames, shadow boxes or whatever new idea we can invent.

Born in Bonn, Germany, raised in Munich and Essen, studied at UT in Aachen, Masters education for art and biology, later BA in business and computer science, moved to Austin area 1996, after Y2K programming and other detours returned to the place where her soul belongs to — visual art/​design.
