History

Established in 2005.

Agilon’s fundraising software technologies originated over twenty years ago from the innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of Iowa State University and The University of Iowa.

The company was created in October 2005 as a spin-​off of the RuffaloCODY software division dedicated to providing a new generation of fundraising and relationship management products. Under the stewardship of RuffaloCODY, our products have been built on proven processes using leading edge technologies that will provide customers with powerful information automation tools for many years to come.

Meet the Business Owner

David B.

Business Owner

David Best has over 30 years of experience with the development, commercialization and marketing of advanced technology products and services.

As President and CEO of Agilon, LLC, Mr. Best is responsible for establishing the company’s vision and strategic direction, and growing Agilon’s presence in the fundraising sector. Prior to forming Agilon, Mr. Best served as Vice President of Software Development at RuffaloCODY, a leading fundraising services provider.

Mr. Best and his wife Helen are active supporters of the United Way, the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, and the National Trust for Preservation of Historic Places, the Iowa Public Television Network and the Eastern Iowa Science Fair. Mr. Best holds a BSCS from Colorado State University, an MSEE from Iowa State University, and an MBA from The University of Iowa.
