Real estate brokerages make the claim all the time that they specialize in buyers, sellers, foreclosure, short sales, etc… when really all they have had is the same basic training that all agents have going into this business.

I think if we had to make the claim that we specialize in one thing, it’s the details of the transaction whether it be with buyer or seller. There are literally hundreds of details that have to take place in concert with lenders, title companies, lawyers, escrow departments, etc. and handling every single one of those details is what we take pride in and if you will specialize.

Being a former elementary school teacher, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that I love to educate my clients on the best ways to sell their home and education is a big part of that. Take the average client who hasn’t sold in 7 or 8 years and there’s a steep learning curve there that needs to be tackled before moving onto the next home.

History

Established in 2009.

In October of 2009, a fellow friend of mine and former real estate agent decided that there was a better way to sell real estate and educate buyers in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The results of this were the formation of our own brokerage, Trego Realty was formed. We utilize high technology to sell and market all of our real estate properties whether it be residential of commercial. The NAR states that 90% of all buyers initiate their search for real estate online, and that’s where we have positioned our agents to be. Because of our online presence, we can expose a property to an additional 400 – 600 potential buyers each week over any broker or agent in the Cedar Rapids area.

Derrick Ogert comes from a family of real estate agents, builders, lenders, and so his experience comes straight from family ties. His morals and ethics have helped shape this company and we are slowly, but steadily adding qualified, like-​minded agents who desire to practice real estate a different way, with a focus on education, high technology, and high touch.
