Specialties
All of our menu items are prepared from scratch daily. From cooking our own meats, to mixing our own sauces, to hand grinding our burgers from our special sirloin and chuck mixture. All of our appetizers are made from scratch, they don’t come in frozen in a box. We prepare our neapolitan pizza dough daily. Even the french fries are made from scratch. We have expanded from our sandwich lineup to include pizza, fried items, dinner entrees, and a full bar.
History
Established in 1964.
The first Emil’s opened its doors in Cedar Rapids in 1964. The Allick family has been serving great food in Cedar Rapids ever since, and has expanded here at the Hideaway to the Secor family and the Tegler-Kleve family as well. The Hideaway opened on April 15, 2013, and is the first full service restaurant concept Emil’s has done.
