Hands In Harmony

What a great experience! We did the couples package which included hot tub, wine. Fruit, cheese, chocolates and massage. Very laid-​back and friendly. Our rooms were very clean. Our masseuses (Melinda and Courtney) were fantastic! Will go back again!

Atmosphere was professional and welcoming. We were first timers and chose to do a hot tub and couples massage… amazing! Our time in the tub was lovely, with cheese, wine, fruit and chocolates. Then our massages were customized to our particular stresses. We left feeling like buttah and still feel so good! The massage therapists were awesome and really good at walking us through everything. Planning our next visit soon.

As first timers, my boyfriend and I had no idea what to expect. The environment was completely warm and welcoming, and we were treated with a professional level of casualness. The whirlpool tub helped us get into the mindset of relaxing so we were ready for our massages afterwards. The massage itself was wonderful and relaxing (obviously, I was someone that wanted to relax and feel pampered), so it was a solid ¹⁰⁄₁₀ experience for me.

Hands in Harmony is the total package. An oasis of peace and beauty where clients are treated with the utmost care and the therapists are top notch.

I love coming to Hands and Harmony! When I’m in pain and next to relieve tension, Ellen gives amazing massages! The staff are all very friendly and helpful! The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing. It’s an amazing place to de-​stress!

I had an excellent experience. I had a huge knot in my back that I could not get rid of. I went to the chiropractor but it kept coming back. One 30 minute massage and it was gone. Haven’t had it come back yet. The next time this happens, I’ll be back!

I worked with Heather this past weekend and felt a marked improvement in my whole sense of well being both during and for several days after my full body massage. Heather was wonderful, checking in with my around my goals, preferences, and how she could be of greater assistance throughout the entire experience. Highly recommended.

I’ve never been to a more professional but yet relaxing place! The staff is super nice, and there is not enough room on here to tell you just how awesome the owner is. Wahneta Dimmer is anything but dim. She is brilliant and vibrant. Personally, I am a skeptic. I won’t believe anything till I’ve seen it or experienced it. Before meeting Wahneta and experienced just how in tune she is with the universe, I would have said I don’t think that’s even possible.
I’ve been to physical therapist, ENT, and my family practitioner, none of which helped me one bit. They just wanted to charge me a lot of money and push drugs down me. The majority of what was going on with me is either already corrected, almost healed or is in the process. Before seeking medical attention for pain pills or whatever, please take the time to visit Wahneta. She is exceptional!

Everyone was very friendly and welcoming! The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. Connie was wonderful and made me feel very comfortable. I’ll definitely be back!

This place is as great as words can express. With a large number of staff with different expertise, every ailment and muscular ache/​pain can get the treatment it needs. The facility is calming, clean, and unique. The noise level is minimal. There is a informational and educational aspect to this place that exceeds other spas in Cedar Rapids. I highly recommend the Ashiastu massage With Heather. She is such a knowledgable, attentive, and overall interesting person. Also, the infrared sauna is a great way to relax if one likes to sweat.

I booked two massages for a girls’ weekend because my good friend enjoys a massage. I requested some less hands-​on things for myself (time on a heated mat and a hand massage). I got talked into a foot massage as well, but should have held my ground. My fault.
I didn’t have a pleasant experience. Don’t let me book these services if your masseuse is going to treat it like it’s the oddest thing they’ve ever encountered. It made me supremely uncomfortable.
The hand massage was pretty weak and, oddly, my foot massage was so aggressive I came away with bruises, swelling, and lingering pain. My companion experienced some of this as well: a weak body massage and bruises on the tops of her feet!
Finally, after surviving the massage (as I came to imagine it), I was enjoying shopping in the little gift store (great selection of stones and crystals), when my masseuse, Tony, took it upon himself to massage my neck and shoulders when I had just expressly stated that I don’t find body touch by strangers to be relaxing, actually quite to the contrary, which is why I booked the hand and foot massage in the first place. This is absolutely unacceptable. I just told you that I didn’t want something and you lay hands on me in the gift shop? No.
We won’t return, and they have damaged any desire I may have had to explore massage further. This should have been a positive first experience.

I have visited Hands in Harmony on two occasions during which I taught energy healing classes.
I found the personnel to be very friendly and extremely helpful. In addition to teaching in their classroom space, my students used several of the healing rooms. Each was nicely furnished with a soothing color painted on the walls.
Lovely relaxing music wafts throughout the center, and the students found that during their practice sessions they were able to deeply relax in the very nurturing environment.
They also have a nice gift shop where customers can select from an array of healing crystals, aromatherapy oils, healing jewelry and more.
The entire center was very clean, and quiet.
I was on a very tight travel schedule and unfortunately I was unable to personally schedule a massage. However, I heard several very satisfied customers exclaim that their massage was «the Best ever!»
If I am in the area again, I will be sure to schedule time for a massage.

To begin, this was the most bipolar massage experience we’ve ever had.
Our quest began with a version of «In the Ghetto» playing in my head as we rolled in from Coralville to what appeared to be an old apartment building that now housed a number of businesses. To their credit, they booked us for a Sunday afternoon massage which we very much appreciated. We were greeted by a couple very nice folks… neither of which were wearing shoes. Entering the building we found ourselves on the lower level in a lovely smelling and trying really hard, but still borderline sketchy (if not only because of the physical location) locale. We were shown to our room, got into our robes and were led to the spa area, which turned out to be what we think was a bathroom with a spa/​shower installed. The spa-​ish experience was moderately weird because we felt like we were using a neighbors nice accommodations rather than being at a spa.
At this point we figured we’d either lose a kidney or the massage would be great and luckily the latter was true! Our masseuses were fantastic and we both agreed they were SOME OF THE BETTER MASSAGES WE’D EVER HAD! Truthishly, we were pretty surprised. The hour long massages were very relaxing and would have only been made better had they been somewhere other than a room that we’re pretty sure used to be someones bedroom. Somewhere between Tony (the masseur) lambasting my feet and lower back I was awoken by a dryer going off in the next room… not totally relaxing, but ultimately it added to the uniqueness of the experience.
This place would be incredible if they were able to transport the people and décor to a spot that was a little less sketchy, but overall we were pretty impressed. They were running a solid livingsocial special so we couldn’t pass it up. It’s a ways away so yet to be seen if we’ll return, but again, if Tony goes into business closer to Coralville, we’d definitely return.
