Our goal is to significantly increase your child’s math skills, understanding of math concepts, and overall school performance, while building confidence and forging a positive attitude. And we have fun with math!

History

Established in 2014.

Jeanne Giles opened the first Mathnasium in Iowa in September of 2010 after working 25 years as an actuary. She wanted to bring her love of math to the students in the Cedar Rapids area. She opened Mathnasium at the Fountains in November of 2014 to expand their program options to more students in the Cedar Rapids area.

Meet the Business Owner

Jeanne G.

Business Owner

Jeanne holds a degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Iowa and is also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA.) She spent the first 25 years of her career applying her business and math skills while performing actuarial work and management responsibilities for a top insurance company.

She is excited to bring Mathnasium Learning Center to Cedar Rapids and to be sharing her love of math with local students. Jeanne loves changing families’ lives by removing the math tension of math homework and replacing it with a smile when math is mentioned.

Jeanne is married to Kevin and has three sons. Jacob, eternally 15 and in heavenly peace since 2007, Josh, 21, and K.J., 17. The Giles family are die-​hard Green Bay Packer fans. Jeanne actively participates in fitness kickboxing and enjoys anything in or by water and has participated in local triathlons and Warrior Dashes. She also enjoys travel and reading.
