I am going to be an odd duck among the reviewers. It appears that Dr Blatter has made many changes with getting more business experience, which is understandable. Have been with the practice for over a year now (since early 2013). He must have changed offices, since the one I’ve been going to is not large, decorated, but not ostentatiously, with complementary coffee and tea. I have not thus far experienced a problem either with the office staff or with the dentists (I’ve seen both dentists in this practice). Scheduling, reminding, billing, disclosing additional charges not covered by insurance, getting 0% financing. Definitely making my own decisions regarding what’s best for my situation — taking care of health, forgoing the cosmetics out of my budget. My care so far has been limited to cleanings, and a couple fillings — a front tooth and a molar. I did not have to have the fillings adjusted. After a molar filling, had sensitivity for 2 – 3 days afterwards on biting down, which went away. Compared to my own and families’ past dental experiences (15 or so dentists and orthodontists), I did not find this practice unqualified, objectionable or unfair. Will update if this happens.

I’ve been going to Dr. Blatter for a few years now, starting after I got out of college. I have fine teeth and gums, but previously I had a few major dental surgeries done and regularly saw several dentists prior to seeing Dr. Blatter, so I think I know good and bad service.
For clarity’s sake, a few bullet points to summarize
— Dr. Blatter and those in his office provide great service
— It is not cheap
— I know nothing about any of his marketing or free whitening campaigns
I’ve gone for cleanings, fillings, maintenance on my implant and it’s only ever been great service. It is not cheap, but I don’t want to pay for cheap — I want to pay for good service and good consultation, which I’ve regularly received.
As far as dental assistants cleaning teeth, taking x-​rays and the like — that has been the case at every dentist I’ve ever visited. I don’t expect the dentist to handle the rudimentary tasks, just as I don’t expect a doctor to check my height, weight, blood pressure at the doctor’s office — that’s why nurses and PAs are present. When it comes to critical analysis, consultation and working on my implant or anything else that is more important, Dr. Blatter handles it as he should.
Office staff has only ever been good for me. To a commenter’s assertion that the staff is useless due to a botched payment with insurance: if I stopped visiting every office had problems with insurance coverage, I could never visit a doctor, dentist or pharmacy ever again. Simply comes with the territory as far as I can tell. Recently at Dr. Blatter’s office, there was a question of whether or not something would be covered by my insurance — rather than billing me and potentially refunding me, the office staff said they would consult the insurance company before my next visit and let me know then. That was more flexibility than I expected and more than Walgreens provided me on a prescription fulfillment the day before.
As far as misleading marketing campaigns, I have no input here. Maybe he deserves the 1 star for that, but I think you probably shouldn’t pick a dentist based on freebies.
I am signed up to replace an implant whose color I am not happy with (installed years ago before I started seeing Dr. Blatter), get a night guard for teeth grinding and whitening. I will revise this rating and review once those procedures are finished. Until then, he deserves 4 out of 5 stars for the great service I’ve received.
If you want great service and you are willing to pay for great service, Dr. Blatter is a fantastic dentist.

Aspen Springs – the entire staff– is fabulous! Dr. Blatter is so good at what he does– very professional, thorough and so nice and personal – and he made the entire experience a great one. My sons and their families have gone to Aspen Springs for several years and highly recommended Dr. Blatter, so we decided to make an appointment as well. I have had exams and recently a crown, and each visit couldn’t have been better. I was anticipating some pain and sensitivity with the crown, but I had not a moment of discomfort. And it was done in one visit! I would refer Dr. Blatter to anyone. Our grandchildren love him, too!

I am truly baffled by the negative reviews here… I was recommended dr. Blatter by a coworker, and gave his office a shot. I have to move around quite a bit, so I’ve had 5 different dentists in the last 5 years in Denver, Chicago, and LA. I have to say this office has impressed me the most.
1. My hygienist was friendly, efficient and knew her stuff.
2. They promptly met my appointment time, and were flexible when it was discovered that I had 2 cavities, and fit me in to get fillings immediately even though they were booked tight.
3. Dr. Blatter hooked me up painlessly with 2 filiings in like 25 minutes?! Very quick and efficient… While I watched pti on espn with noise canceling headphones.
4. Concerned about my grinding, he asked if I had a night guard. I said I did, from a different dentist but it was uncomfortable… Instead of trying to sell me a new one, he had me bring mine in, and he personally adjusted it free of charge– just as a nice thing to do.
I felt compelled to give him a good review. These guys rock, and are not all about the profits, or whatever those other folks said. Highly recommended,

Similar to the review listed below, I wanted to write because I’ve read the 3 bad reviews of Dr. Blatter’s office and couldn’t disagree more. I’ve been going there for over 4 years now and have never had issues. The staff has always been extremely courteous, helpful with planning appointments around cost, and pro-​active in seeking pre-​procedure estimates for me. The one time (recently) when my new insurance didn’t cover what they said they would, Dr. Blatter’s office made up the difference, knowing that I had plenty of work scheduled with them in the future. The last procedure I went in for, which was a deep cleaning, was supposed to cost $ 256 and ended up only costing $ 106.
Dr. Blatter’s office is clean, and the technology used is obviously top of the line. I have had zero issues with them and recommend him to friends and family.
For some reason Unilocal removed my comment. This was a completely genuine review that was in no way encouraged or compensated for by Dr. Blatter. I just had the second deep cleaning appointment on 2÷26÷2013 and once again had a great experience. Not sure why Unilocal would remove a positive review, they’re more than happy to post plenty of bad reviews.

So I wasn’t going to give my opinion of this office, but after reading the reviews already here, I thought I would confirm them with my own. It has been about two years since my wife and I left. I will say that Landon is a super nice guy, and I believe his dental skill and knowledge to be top notch. Where we had the problem (similar to the previous review) was with the office staff. Horrible. Bad communication, they billed us for something that we had been told was going to be covered by insurance, and then was not. In trying to deal with it, the office staff was rude, and confrontational. The issue was finally resolved and we were not charged. I have been to several dental practices, and this experience was the worst.

I wrote the first review on 11/​16/​2010. This is an update.
I received an email from Dr. Blatter on 06/​01/​2011 because he found my review. I found it to be negative in tone. I stand by my review from 11/​16/​2010.
It is clear to me that he would like for me to remove or modify my original message.
I was warned that if I did not respond to his email within a couple of days, then he will be taking action and plans to make a public response regarding my review of my medical visit and treatment.
If he decides to do that, and violates HIPAA or my right to privacy regarding confidential medical information, I fully intend to file a complaint with the state licensing board and the BBB. I will then also contact a lawyer.
I will say, after the first review, they did mail the «free» whitening gel that was promised with the promotion. (No whitening tray, although I was unwillng to let them anywhere near my teeth again to make one.)
And I agree that I did not return his phone calls last Fall. Calls in which he seemed irritated and a little condescending. I did not think further contact would be productive.
My review stands. This seems like a dentist who wants to get every cent he can from patients without a care for their actual needs.
A high tech office means nothing if a dentist will try to drill into healthy teeth or push services you do not need.
Lastly, I should note that I noticed he was in 5280’s list of Top Dentists. I should point out that dentists are selected by peers and can also vote for themselves. Take that rating/​recommendation with a grain of salt.

RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!
This dentist is a scam artist. I was lured in by a promotion that offered «Free Teeth Whitening» with purchase of an exam/​x-​ray and cleaning.
I went for my cleaning and was told by the hygienist that I had 3 or 4 cavities. She spent a lengthy amount of time inspecting and x-​raying my teeth. The dentist came in, and after a very brief look, declared I had 7 cavities.
This is suspicious, but not totally impossible. Perhaps he wanted to fill suspicious spots on the enamel.
HOWEVER:
I went to the counter to make my follow-​up appointment, and they said that I actually had 8. How did I go from 3 to 8? I called back to see if it was a mistake. Nope.
I decided to get a second opinion within 1 week. My current dentist came by referral, and after his exam he determined that I only had TWO SMALL cavities.
Dr. Blatter would not give me my «FREE» teeth whitening until after I paid for 8 cavities. (6 of which I did not have) The coupon says nothing about requiring me to have work done before they would honor it. It says if you pay for the exam and cleaning, then you receive the whitening.
Save your time and teeth, do not go to this dentist. Dr. Blatter’s office has high tech equipment, and I guess they need to pay for it one way or the other.
Dr. Blatter, having just met me, also pushed invisalign, implants and other products without even knowing if I am a candidate. He touts himself to be a «preventative dentist» but doesn’t know where to draw the line from prevention to scam artist.

Wow. I honestly wish I would have read the previous review before I went to this dentist. I haven’t gone to seek a second opinion yet but when I do I’ll post the update here.
This dentist has been rated Top Doc by 5280 and seemed to be so modern and high-​tech that I thought «awesome!» The staff was very friendly and nice and the offices are very nice. I DID wonder how one single dentist could have such a large office with so many chairs and staff. I think I know why now. He doesn’t even do your fillings or other dental work… he pawns you off to someone else «who is an expert and has done his own teeth» which I guess is supposed to make you feel comfortable with it (hey, it worked on me).
I also went here for the «free teeth whitening» which of course is never happening. I was told I needed severe deep cleaning which would cost me a lot of money, then I was told I had new cavaties, that one of my back teeth was cracked and I’d need a crown (which he could do same day with his fancy high tech machine — i thought… how awesome), and that I had to replace all the metal fillings in my mouth with the new white fillings because the metal ones were corroding!!! Stupid me… I believed all of it and was in complete shock! Mostly because I actually hadn’t been to the dentist in a few years (but had been religiously every 6 months prior to that and have very good teeth, no issues).
SO…we are scheduling my «deep cleaning» and my «replacement of metal fillings» for one side of my mouth and they want to do it on Valentine’s day. I say, «hold up… I have a very nice dinner planned for that night, I don’t think that’s a good idea» to which more than one person says to me, «Oh, you’ll be fine by dinner time.» And I believed them. WRONG. Sure… I wasn’t numb anymore but my teeth were SO SENSITIVE and sore that I could only eat on one side of my mouth. Not exactly the romantic evening I had in mind.
Then…when I could actually start biting down on my left side a couple days later, it felt completely WRONG. It was not biting down the same as before and certainly not the same as the right side of my mouth like it used to. I explained this to them and they said, «this happens, it’s very common, we’ll do an adjustment.» So I scheduled one and felt happy. During my adjustment… it STILL wasn’t the doc. Some 21 year old scraping away at my teeth. She just couldn’t get it right and I was starting to feel bad on the chair but refused to tell her it was right if it wasn’t. She finally got the spot but then it felt like she had scraped away my actual tooth! I did not leave feeling comfortable but they told me to call back in a few days and see how it felt.
They called me two days later, and good thing because I was FREAKING OUT. It was sooooooooo wrong, worse than before. The doc called me a few minutes later explaining that this only happens 1% of the times in his career!!! Great… so I’m the lucky 1%. I’m still believing everything they are telling me. I go back in and tell them that I want HIM PERSONALLY to look at my teeth.
He added some additional filling but said over and over that he doesn’t see anything wrong with it… that he doesn’t like to «overfill» whatever that means. He seemed a bit irritated.
I told him that it STILL didn’t feel right at all after his played around with it and… major IRRITATION!!! I asked if he scraped away my actual teeth and he said «yes, and that this was a very common practice to do!!» I’m seriously freaking at this point and just want to get out of there.
I haven’t gone back. I’ve gotten referrals from other friends and am going to schedule 2 – 3 appointments when I have time to see what they say. For now… I’ve cancelled my Three Month follow up (which insurance doesn’t cover) for another DEEP CLEANING.
Whatever.
Like I said… nice place, nice staff, but the Dr. just wants your money. Don’t go here.
