NextCare Urgent Care

Un-​ethical practices here!!! I was refused service and they refused to bill my insurance unless I paid up front. My insurance does not have a co-​pay, and insurance has even told my husband that it is not ethical for doctors to charge patients BEFORE submitting the charges to the insurance company, but it’s not illegal so Dr’s get away with it. The front desk girl assured me that my up front payment would be the only thing that I would pay for my visit, and that I would not receive a bill in the future. LIES! I later received an outrageous bill in the mail!!!
Their waiting room is extremely hot! The sun shines right in the front windows heating up the waiting area. I had to ask the girl at the front desk if I could close the blinds because it was so hot. They need to crank the ac or put up a different kind of curtain to minimize the amount of heat that comes in.
My husband visited them and was diagnosed with a flu, but just a week or two later had to go back because his symptoms got significantly worse. They then diagnosed him with pneumonia. I wouldn’t doubt that he really had pneumonia the first time he saw the doctor because of my experience a few months later. So, a few months later after having an ear ache for a couple months that slowly worsened, I went to get checked out. I assumed I had an ear infection, which I have never had before. The wait was VERY long, and I had my infant with me. I had called prior to coming in to see if they could check my baby for an ear infection also (not sure if it’s contagious because I’ve never had to deal with one before) and they told me that they could not because he was under six months old at the time. When the doctor FINALLY saw me that morning she seemed very rushed and barely even looked in my ear. She said that it looked a little red inside (which is hilarious because she hardly even glanced in my ear for half a second) and wrote me a prescription for an anti biotic diagnosing me with an ear infection. I asked if I should worry about my baby getting an ear infection and she said that she could actually check him out BUT WE WOULD HAVE TO GO BACK OUT AND WAIT IN LINE AGAIN!!! I flat out told her NO! We waited at least an hour for myself to be seen by the doctor and there was no way we were going to hang out in that sauna for another couple of hours!
So I took my antibiotic as prescribed, but a day or two after I finished it my ear started hurting again. I then scheduled an appointment with an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist. He took one look in my ear and saw that there was actually a foreign object IN my ear, and not an infection! He used a tiny gentle vacuum to extract the object (which turned out to be a build up of cotton from using q-​tips and wax).
Next Care misdiagnosed me, cost us a couple hundred dollars, and a lot of lost time. Horrible un-​ethical people working there.

I came to this urgent care because my friend was sick. When we checked in there were 3 people in the waiting area, when we asked how long the wait was the receptionist responded I don’t know. I understand not knowing the exact time however; I believe she could have communicated that the people prior have waited over an hour to get into a sub waiting room where the wait has been an additional half am hour to an hour. I feel that her answer, of I do not know is highly unacceptable. We should have been given an approximate time frame. If she was monitoring the patients arrival and departure she would have had this information or even an approximation. I am going on two hours waiting in the initial check in room. Where I have noticed her being rude to the other patience. One mother with a young child asked her if she could change the channel because she did not feel it was appropriate (MTV) was on and they have been talking about boners, three ways, and oral sex in my opinion this channel is not appropriate either especially with young children in the waiting area. Her response was no with no explanation.
I recently moved to the area and I will be looking for another urgent care for my medical needs other then this one and I suggest others do the same.

I was really impressed with this clinic.
I came in because I could not even keep water down. As I was wretching in the exam room, the doctor heard me and brought me some nausea medication to help me as I waited.
Even though I felt awful the staff was great.
They told me to comeback if the vomiting continued so they could start an IV, so I could avoid an ER visit.
Luckily, due to the medicine they gave me I was able to get rehydrated and did not need to return.
The next day the front desk called me to check up. My own doctors office wont even do that and this way an urgent care. That really impressed me!

I was lied to! When I walked in I was told it would be at an initial hundred fifty dollars plus any additional tests. After 20 minute visit I was charged $ 160 plus a $ 96 additional fee because it was a Saturday and $ 35 Additional with no explanation. I was never made aware of the weekend fee or random $ 35 fee. When it was brought to their attention they are only explanation was I would have to call corporate to dispute this. I asked them to call corporate and take care of it themselves and they wouldn’t, even though they admitted they never told me of the fees! This place needs to get their stuff together or they’re going to be out of business quick.

The doctors and nurses were very nice, but it took 4 hours for me to get 5 stitches. They had to give me Local shots twice because they took too long to get back in to me and it wore off. Those of you who have had stitches know those shots are the worst part. I would have been better off going to the hospital.

I went to this place since they took over the clinic after my doctor had retired and it is close to home. In all fairness the first time I went I had no problem. I signed up for their discount plan which saves money (in hindsight probably a mistake), the front office lady is great, friendly, helpful and nice. The first time I was a walk in and it took only about 20 minutes for the P. A to see me who is also wonderful. I did find out that in order to get prescriptions other than your basic cold/​flu stuff, you have to actually see the M.D.
Fine, I make a SCHEDULED appointment, waited, the kid took my vital signs and I was put in a room. ONE HOUR LATER I walked to the desk, said I was leaving and asked what the problem was. No one came in to tell me anything, no one came in to check on me, I was more like a dog locked in a kennel. The nice front desk lady apologized to me saying the doctor was running behind. Really? In between making the appointment and going to the non-​existent appointment, I tore up my knee, in a lot of pain and really needed to see the doctor so I thought how fortuitous in a macabre sort of way.
Now, I have owned my business for 38 years and if I am even running 10 minutes late I pick up the phone. It appears that whatever doctor I was going to see could care less. That apparently we have a God syndrome and to hell with how long people have to wait. Well doctor, the reality is doctors are a dime a dozen, on basically every street corner. My time is just as valuable as yours believe it or not. You wasted over one hour of my time not including driving time. To treat people in this fashion is unconscionable. I and people like myself are paying people who help pay your staff’s salary and keep your doors open.
Might I make a suggestion… If you are running that late have your office staff call people telling them appointments are running late and can you come at another time or reschedule. I had appointments of my own I had to not book because of this appointment which never transpired. God only knows how long I would have waited, 1.5 hours, 2 hours before you graced me by walking the room?
I cannot comment on the other reviews about having to go back in every month for monthly prescriptions since I have not experienced that.
On the up side the place is clean, the P.A. and staff are very nice. Whatever you do, do not waste your time scheduling an appointment. So 5 stars for the P.A. and 0 for the doctor. All I know is that when my old doctor owned his practice in that space from walking in the door to sitting in front of him was less than 20 minutes. This experience is past unconscionable and egregious and it shows a complete lack of ethical fiber and lack of respect. As an ex DVM, if I had treated my clients in this fashion I would have been out of business.
I might add there were no emergencies that were rushed in during that time.

I went to NextCare Urgent Care when I developed a very painful ear infection right around the time my usual doctor office was closing. They got me checked in very quickly, and it wasn’t long until I was seen by the PA.
While I waited to be seen, unfortunately another woman who had just arrived began to experience a medical emergency in the waiting room. The staff reacted so quickly, calmly and professionally as they tended to her. I was very impressed with everyone.
While my ear infection was hardly an emergency, they took great care if me as well. I saw Vicki and really liked her. After experiences with more than one urgent care that acted inconvenienced by actually having a patient, I can’t recommend this place enough. They are welcoming, friendly and efficient.
