The Hot Italiano is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The service is less than exuberant but not ineffective.

We had lunch here yesterday and everything seamed ok at first. Sandwiches were good. Food preparation was super slow. My boyfriend got a stomach bug that started last night and went into this morning. The only thing he ate different than his cousin and I was the chicken noodle soup. Thinking he got some bad food from here.

Went on a monday at 3:30. Place was empty. Service was friendly and Togo order took less than 10 min to get. Ordered the ‘Hippie Chick P’ sandwich. It’s nothing to write home about… Soggy bread, kraft single cheese slice, thick cuts of cucumber and lots and lots of onion. Couldn’t find the taste of cilantro or hummus thru the onion. I’d give the smiling moose another try but wouldnt order a sandwich.

For me, «deli» means piles of corned beef on rye bread and the strong, pungent smell of a well seasoned grill. But, I’m learning that Denver has a different definition. There’s a lot of competition in the«soup/salad/sandwich» market here. I’ve been to three of four in the last couple of weeks(many of them luring me in with the«deli» misnomer). Smiling Moose was the least satisfying of them all. My wife’s soup was bland, her salad was boring, and my sandwich was small, dry and highly unsatisfying. Now, will someone PLEASE tell me where I can get a REAL Reuben in this town?!

Service was slow and unfriendly, and my food was a sloppy mess! I had lunch for the last time today at Smiling Moose. I work in the area and have had a similar experience all three times that I’ve visited this establishment. There were a fair amount of people waiting on food and I don’t think they could have gone any slower. The people here need a sense of urgency when it comes to getting people on their lunch break back to work on time. I waited 20 min for a sandwich called the«hippie chickpea.» It’s a cold sandwich with hummus and veggies… Again 20 min. I also specifically requested no onions and the person who took my order even wrote it down on my ticket to make sure that they were not on the sandwich. I was extremely disappointed when I took my sandwich back to work and found it loaded with onions. It was also thrown together so messily that I could barely pick up the sandwich to eat it. This was not nearly worth the $ 8 that the sandwich costs. Today’s lunch would have been better if I brought cold leftover pizza to work instead of visiting Smiling Moose.

I recently went here with a group of co-workers for lunch. I am instantly a fan of most places that serve brekfast all day. I had the Mo Rito burrito and it did not dissapoint. Good size portion and the veggie cream cheese was a nice, creamy compliment. Service was quick and friendly and the dining area was clean.

Went on a Monday around 12:30 and it wasn’t too crowded. I didn’t feel like the person taking the order was super friendly, so that could have been better. They were also pretty slow at bringing out the food, especially slow with the wraps. The food was okay, a little too pricy for my taste though. Reminds me of a step down to the The Spicy Pickle” restaurant.

I got the Liz Rueben and it was packed and big! I really liked the flavor! The tea was running low, but it was mid-day and a lot of people were in for a quick work lunch. It was kind of loud, but it was worth getting that sandwich and having a good lunch for the day! I will be back!

Not that great. Also, went on Free Cookie Wednesday and didn’t get a cookie even though what I purchased was more expensive than a wrap or sandwich. Don’t bother. On top of all that, one of the sandwich guys behind the counter didn’t have any compunction against picking up his hat, reorganizing his hair with a bare hand, replacing his hat and going back to work without washing his hands or using sanitizer. Never going back

The meatball sub is Great! By great, I mean huge(as big as your forearm), delicious, piping hot, and unique in taste. They work hard and fast to get your sandwich out fast, especially during lunch time. The staff is friendly. The food is a bit expensive, but not for what you get. Expect to pay about $ 10 per sandwich, but also prepare for 2 meals. Half the sandwich for lunch and the other half for dinner!

It’s definitely a step above let’s say Subway sandwiches, but also really pricey as well. Their pastrami sammich was really good! Very flavorful I also enjoyed their baguette. Did I mention this place was a tad bit pricey?

The bread alone speaks for itself: hot, crispy and yummy! A coworker of mine suggested the Mighty Mo… check. The next time I got the Hot Italiano… check. I’m looking forward to see what the Reuban is all about cause another coworker of mine got that and it looked amazing! Chips and cookies are overpriced but the sandwiches and soups are on par with all the other fast casual places. I like this place a lot. Nice and laid back, always friendly.

Over priced for the amount of food you get. Good spicy enchilada soup though. Nothing sets it apart from any other sandwich place i. e Panera Bread or Woody Creek. Both better options in my opinion

After going to this place for so long I am not sure what happened but the staff just does not seem as friendly as it once was. I have always liked the sandwiches but now the prices are getting a little out of hand in comparison to other sandwich shops in the area. I will be going back but definitely not as often. I am a particular fan of the bayou chicken(i of course add bacon to it) and parking can be a little bit of a pain during lunch and dinner rush.

Smiling Moose is nice because there isn’t a lot of sandwich variety in this area. They remind me of a higher end Quiznos because I seem to end up with pretty saucy sandwiches when I eat there. I feel like they are maybe a little overpriced and their«cute» naming of sandwiches annoys me. Their large sandwiches are pretty large though.

We ordered Smiling Moose(1) because it was convenient(2) because it isn’t Subway or Pizza Hut(3) We wanted something quick. All in all, we got what we wanted, and actually, I got more than I expected! I ordered a 12″ wheat baguette and I think I got TWICE that! The amount of meat on the sandwich was good, the vegetables were fresh and crisp. I thought I was in sandwich heaven for a minute, but the bread got kind of soggy! This may not have been there problem, I may have let it sit too long. That being said, we have been there several times, and I would definitely go back. They have a variety of sandwich choices, but I commonly decide to build my own(it turns out to be a beast!) See you at lunch time!!!

Wam bam it aint spam. I had the pick 2 combo, ½ sandwich and a salad. Not bad, not great. Service was solid and pricing ok. Good spot for a quick lunch that was NOT deep fried. I’d go back for convenience, but I may not go out of my way… Don’t be shy. If you haven’t been, give ‘em a whirl.

I like their sandwiches and wraps a lot more than their salads. First off they only have like 3 salads on the menu, so it really is a place to get your deli on not your veggie fix. Second, the salads are medium sized, but priced high! A harvest salad(mixed greens, cranberries, pecans, chicken and an orange/cran vinaigrette) will set you back $ 8+ and it seemed to be a whole lot of mixed greens and not a whole lot of anything else. However the wrap version of this has a perfect mix of greens/chick/etc…So just know if you want a salad this might not be the place for you. The parking lot is crazy over here too because there is a Qdoba in the lot. So you will need to pack your patience if you are going during lunch! The plus side is they will get you in and out and the dining area is really light and bright with lots of tables and chairs. It is A-OK, but not my first choice.

Grabbed lunch here one day, and thought it was pretty good. I got a wrap and enjoyed it quite a bit. My coworker was not so happy though. The girl at the cash register messed up her order, and I don’t think she was thrilled with her sandwich either. I’d be willing to go back again though. And I love the order ahead app for iPhone, places that have that feature just make my life easier overall.

I was urged to try the«Mighty Moe», which I found to be truly repulsive. The ground beef had mealy undercooked feeling, sloshed on a hoagie with tomatoes, wax peppers and onions. To be fair, the three Barbarian guys I was with ate it with relish, but I couldn’t get near it. The place was crowded at lunch, but I am scratching this place off my list permanently.
