Waters Edge Winery

I love this local winery. We live in the neighborhood, and it’s become our Friday night routine to walk the dogs to the Water’s Edge patio and enjoy the wine and the BOSS food truck. Jen who owns the place is great, as are the staff. I enjoy their tastings, which get me to try the fruit wines that I normally don’t opt for. They’re surprisingly refreshing and a nice change of pace from normal reds and whites.

This is a wonderful spot to get together with friends. It’s charming and cozy. The wines are wonderful. And Jennifer the owner goes out of her way to accommodate. We recently held a graduation party here and it was spectacular. Jennifer accommodated us by letting us decorate and bring in food. Her staff took care of our friends during the party! Had my first experience at Water’s Edge today. My wife and I went for a bottling party, which cost $ 21, which included a bottle each, bread, cheese, grapes, etc. The organization of the event felt a little off, which I’ll come back to.
The service is great. Both ladies working there were very friendly, and clearly proud of their own product. The atmosphere was really nice, although the chairs were a bit uncomfortable it seems like a small thing, but I’d like comfortable seating if I’m going to sirens some time enjoying myself at a winery.
The wines are all made in Colorado from grapes imported from all over the world, which is cool. I only had one glass since I was driving, so I can’t judge too much, but they have a decent selection, including some low alcohol (6−7%) fruity wines, which can be fun for summer gatherings. I had a blueberry Pinot, which was reminiscent of a blueberry pie. My wife had a flight of samplers, all of which she liked. She was especially impressed with the Strawberry Lychee wine. This isn’t a place you go for top shelf wines, but it still seems to be a source of quality local wine.
As I said, we were there for a bottling party. My wife and I were among the first to arrive right at 1pm, and were informed things would be starting soon. More of the owners friends started showing up, and she let us know they’d be taking people back 6 at a time. It was clear she would be taking her friends back first. The first group was having a lot of fun, taking a lot of selfies, and clearly not hurryng through, which is fine, but they took just over an hour. The next group (also friends) took about 40 – 45 minutes. My wife and I were left wondering when it would be or turn. That’s my only complaint. We showed up for this bottling party at 1pm, but didn’t get to bottle our wine until just after 3 (when we arrived before most of those who went before us).
At any rate, the bottling process was fun, and it was overall a good experience. Since i was driving, and not drinking, it was a little boring to sit in uncomfortable chairs and wait for 2 hours, but they still get 5 stars for being so nice. And my wife enjoyed it, which is all that matters to me. :)

Just a really cute neighborhood spot. The owners Jennifer and Chad are almost always there, and are extremely welcoming and helpful. The dog friendly patio is the best place to enjoy a glass or two of wine on a nice day. Variety of events offered on the calendar. In general, I enjoy their white wines more than the reds, but the tasting is always an option. They’re doing a good job of adding to their little food menu (recently brought in jams and mustards). Hoping they stick around for a long time!

Great atmosphere and staff. Highly recommend coming in for a glass of wine with friends.

My second visit to the Winery across from Streets of Southglenn really left a sour taste in my mouth and I didn’t even have the chance to drink a glass of wine. Saturday night we went in to have a drink and saw they were having an anniversary evening and setting up entertainment. Crowded place we looked for a table and a couple that were leaving offered us theirs, after sitting we were rushed by a lady who rudely said we could not sit there it was saved. She then moved another couple over from a front table and sat what seemed to be her personal friends to the front from the bar. She thanked the moving couple for the inconvenience. That did leave an opening at the bar that we would have gladly took when we first arrived or had we been treated better but ya… no thanks! As I wrote earlier it was my second visit and the wine is not that good. I understand wanting to treat your friends well but not at the risk of losing your business and what kind of friends would want you to treat your customers like that??? Not only will I not come back but if anyone suggests going to this establishment I will share my experience.

A winery in Centennial? Yup. There’s no vineyard– but the wine is good! Jennifer the owner is very nice. We will be back

Such a wonderful winery, you can always trust that they will take good care for your wine selection. The boss food truck is delicious and reasonable prices!

First time here – took my wife on a date to this place. We loved it! They are a local company that brews all their wines in-​house. We are not wine connoisseurs but we also don’t drink boxed wine. The ambience was great. Not too formal, not too causal. They are not a restaurant and so allow/​encourage patrons to bring in their own food. They also sell cheeses and meats. The owner was our waitress – she was incredibly knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. We did the wine tasting which was worth it ($ 6 for five 1 oz. pours). And because we also bought a bottle of wine, one of the tasting fees was waived. We loved the ‘Avalanche.’ Definitely not a traditional cab but very flavorful. We’ll definitely be back!

I’m really enjoying this new winery by SouthGlenn. Does it have the most fabulous wines? No. But they are approachable and you can certainly find something that will please you for a relaxing glass. At our last visit, we tried the Don Vino Nebbiolo and also the Cabernet. Both were not quite as sweet as the other reds there so that made me happy.
On Fridays they generally have live music from 7 – 9 and a food truck beginning at 4. The food truck was B.O.S.S. (Bill’s Original Syracuse Sausages) and was quite tasty. We split one of his homemade sausages as well as the pulled pork.
I hope the winery becomes even more popular and they’re able to get other food trucks in on other nights of the week as well.
It is definitely a great addition to the area and a fun place for a night out or just to stop by if you want to stay local.
They do have a happy hour from 3 – 6 which I believe is 10% off glasses of wine. All of their bottles are $ 20-​$ 25. They have a small assortment of snacks available for purchase– meats, cheeses, etc. But you are always welcome to bring in outside food as long as it’s nothing that they sell there. (Perhaps pick up some Land of Sushi from across the way??)
The owner is lovely and the last time we were in, we saw Joe Sakic and his wife. So you might just have a celebrity sighting too!

This is a great place to get some really good wine and some snacks. This is not a restaurant it’s a winery. The service is great and the owners go out of their way to satisfy. Enjoy a tasting of 5 wines, a glass, a bottle or even their drinks. They have many special events magicians, musicians and food truck nights so you can make a full night of it right there.

Ummmm… all I can say is this: If you order cheese and meats be prepared to cut your own cheese and meats. They serve them to you individually wrapped straight from the store. It was a BIG disappointment.
The service was mediocer, no help with the wines at all… and the wines were not very good.
The live music was pretty bad too.
We will not be returning, we actually ended up going across the street to the wine shop, purchasing a good wine and sat in front of our fire pit… with our own good music.

Will never go back. 3 of us went for an evening. Nice wine. The brie wedge and proscuito panino both came looking like they were just purchased at Costco! Still in plastic wrap. If I’m going to pay $ 22 for snacks with my wine, I would like to at least pretend that someone went to some effort to make it nice.
After some loud and inappropriate comments from a guest who had sampled quite a bit of wine, the owner announced her religious and political affiliations, which was equally inappropriate. Too many good places to go for me to spend my money there again.

We came here with a few friends on a Friday evening.
One lady who arrived before us had ordered a tasting tray but had not received it yet. The rest of us ordered & received our drinks before she had hers and then we saw that waitress she ordered with leave work for the day!
Our waitress was very apologetic and got her drinks right away.
A few of us got the tasting tray and we all liked 1 out of the 5, the rest were ok but not great. There were a few other glasses ordered and no one was overly impressed. The service had also started to slow down.
It got pretty busy while we were there. A man came in to do live music, he was good and not too loud considering we were sitting pretty close to him.
It took a while to get the cheque, and then had to get them to split it. One of our party just went behind the bar and sorted it out for the waitress.

Absolutely a great place for a date night. My wife and I have been putting in some long hours at work recently and needed some grown up time. We saw they had been open for awhile so we tried it out.
We met both Chad and Jen, and they are very welcoming owners. Chad showed us how things work and Jen gave us a tour of the winemaking room. Did you know that oak barrels are expensive, so they add oak chips to the vats to give the same flavor and scent? As an added bonus, you can throw the chips in your smoker after your wine has aged. I never knew that and thought that was so cool.
You should try it out. It is a warm and welcoming establishment. The owners are very involved and my wife and I had some quiet time together.
Will definitely be back.

They were out of Tempranillo last time I came in and I was heartbroken… however they guided me toward a Pinot Noir with an oak finish that was even better!!! Highly recommend!

Great new hangout near Streets of Southglenn. Nice outside space, great cheese, meats selections for snacks with incredible wines. Try it!

Feels like home — but with really great wine. I visited Waters Edge Winery with several friends on a lazy Saturday afternoon. The winery itself is super pretty and inviting. The staff is super fun — explaining how the whole process works, and they’ll spend time discussing the wines (and politics, sports, music, whatever’s on you mind!). Loved the wine — lots of different things to choose from. Their almond champagne is different and so delish. Each of my friends found a different favorite they liked, and we all took home multiple bottles! We plan on making this one of our favorite hang outs!

The words «winery» and «franchise» do not work well together. Waters Edge is in a good location, and the staff and owners are friendly, but the wine is … well, supremely mediocre, formulaically avoiding any hint of character, nuance, or verve. Instead, it’s intentionally inoffensive, sweet, smooth, alcoholic grape juice, with odd blends and lots of fruit wines.
For $ 6 you can get a tasting of five wines — two white, two red, one fruit/​wine blend. The cost can be applied to buying a bottle of something. You can also buy over-​priced Boars Head meats and cheeses to give it all a sort of picnic feel.
There’s nothing particularly wrong about Waters Edge’s wines, but there’s also nothing particularly right or noteworthy about them. You can get something more interesting from the $ 8 bin at your local liquor store.
I fully support the owners wanting to have a winery/​tasting room. I’m simply afraid that this franchised product is not going to give them — or enough of the public — what they want.

I was at this bar this past Saturday late afternoon before we went to a movie in Southglenn. Chad and Jen (owners) came out and spoke us to see how we were doing. We had a couple of glasses of Bombastic and took a bottle home with us. You can join different clubs for wine list and hit the owners up for details. The food is things that you would snack on with wines (Different Cheeses and Meats). They don’t have a full menu, but you can order out and have it delivered there. What a great idea! I highly recommend this place and you can tie your dog up outside where they leave some water for them. Go see Jen and Chad as you won’t regret it!
