I called the sheriffs station to request an overnight parking permit. Not my first time requesting one seeing that I’ve been a Cerritos resident for the past 16 years. I have never had an issue no matter what time of the night I’ve called and every person I’ve talked to has been pleasant. Tonight I called at around 2am to request a parking permit. I spoke to a person named Leo(?) and he was so rude. He didn’t understand every other word or letter that I said, which is totally not an issue. But he shouted«HUH???» Or «WHAT??» — it was super unprofessional! Our call ended before I could respond; but frankly I was taken aback. I mean, I get it. A sheriffs station isn’t a store but as a public servant you shouldn’t be such a grouch. Leo, if you’re reading this and you’re hard of hearing I apologize. If not, then I’d work on those people skills and swing by Starbucks before your shift.

Crazy times for police lately with Ferguson and Baltimore. Today my son was waiting for me to pick him up from work at 5:30 in the evening. Sitting on the curb near South St and Gridley. A cop rolled up and hassled him for no reason. Asked him if he had an arrest record and if he was panhandling. He was smoking a cigarette minding his own business. This is where people get the idea that cops are the problem. I know cops get accussed of profiling and I have experienced it as true. My son is a white male in his 20’s. Cops don’t limit their profiling to any one race. They go after anyone they feel like. Especially young males. It’s time for them to be regularly counseled and monitored for psychological issues. The power granted to the badge merits it.

Ive had multiple encounters with the LASD in Cerritos. I have to say, they are wonderful. They are courteous and respectful while upholding their duties. I love being in Cerritos because I always feel safe knowing theres a sheriff somewhere nearby. Most of them are handsome, too. *swoon*
