Do not go with UMA MADDI! Rip off! Was quoted elsewhere that I’d receive $ 800+ after taxes, but still chose to get my taxes done here because I felt safer. 2 hours later, after all charges, I was only subjected to receive $ 100. Rip off! And when I told her I wanted to file my taxes elsewhere, she refused and still continued to go forth with my taxes.

This place is a joke, their staff has no true knowledge on taxes, they know nothing about the current laws nor they had read the tax instructions, they don’t even know how to use their own software!, we have to help them to do it right! For a «tax agent» not to even know how to send the state taxes… terrible! Also I don’t know how they managed to be listed under the IRS «acceptance agents» for ITIN. They ARE NOT, they just send you to the IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center, which I could it done myself, but charge you still for the lousy job. Its a waste of time and most important a waste of money. H&R online is a very good and easy software to use, I’ve been using it for years now for free directly from the IRS government site. If your taxes are simple just do it online, if you need true assistance, don’t bother with this people. Look somewhere else.

If you want to get ripped off, then this is the right place for you. We got charged way too much for such crappy service. Absolutely no help at all. Compare to our current tax preparer now it’s night and day. H&R is a big JOKE! Take your business elsewhere…

Mr Patel gave me some great advice and filed my taxes in no time. Very knowledgeable staff and very patient. They even helped me file a 1099 I forgot a year ago and showed me how to save money for next year’s return. Walked in and out without any problems or doubt in my mind considering he’s got 30 years of experience.

Been using tax services from this H & R Block location for years, mainly because of the courteous and professional service I consistently receive from Doris. She is the best, always makes sure to capture all my tax break options. Won’t go anywhere else.

Spent 2 hours of my life with someone who didn’t know what they were doing and who tried to charge me $ 326 to file my taxes and an additional $ 35 for bank fees. Absolutely ridiculous, considering that my refund was less than what they were trying to charge. Do not go here if you just want tax advice, as they will pressure you to file with them. I will never do my taxes here again. Even though they gave me a discount, it was still way too pricey. Save your time, money, and dignity, and go elsewhere.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Carol on our taxes. She is amazing, a breath of fresh air. My husband and I had our taxes done with a different company last year, who was good, but she did not get in depth about what we needed to claim.
Carol asked questions my husband and I had never been asked by any tax pro before. Carol showed us what we needed to change or add to make our next tax year more profit able and advised if we had any additional questions she would be happy to help us.

Mrs. Doris McGee was very knowledgeable with income taxes. Her expertise made the process seemed simple and quick. I usually prepare my own tax return using Turbo tax software but this year I had an unusual circumstance and received a statement which made it a little complicated to do my own so I decided to go with Mrs. Doris McGee whom my son had been going to her for a few years now. I didn’t expect to receive a refund this year due to the unusual circumstance, but I was very surprised that Mrs. McGee was able to get a refund on my tax return. She was extremely helpful, friendly, and she worked very diligently to get the tax done and she managed to get it done in a short amount of time. in and out in no time. i had a Mr. Patel help me out. 30 yrs experience in taxes. this guy was great. very nice. answered all my questions. gave me some tips. and got me a good refund. will be coming here for now on during tax time.

This is my 3^rd year going to this H&R Block. I always use Jane Bryant and she does an amazing job! I highly recommend her! I drive from Long Beach just to go see her.

Go with Doris-​patient, honest & extremely helpful! Taxes are finally taken care of & I actually understand how all of it works. I prefer & HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location over Buena Park.

This is my second time going and once again it was a great experience. Uma is very friendly and remembered me from last time. Plan on going to her whenever I need anything. Go to her if you come here!

I’m new to the area but I’ve been getting my taxes done at H&R Block for a few years now. Most preparers are knowledgeable enough and I have had only one really bad year that required complex filing and follow up. Anyway, I use Unilocal reviews to get a good lead on how to get around and I am glad I did. Ed L. is one of the most honest H&R Block preparers I have ever had. Most preparers are very customer oriented and will definitely try their best to help you itemize and file what you WANT to accomplish (which is getting the most refund possible). BUT let me tell you what Mr. Ed L did to stand out:
1. First off, he not only had the years of experience in filing, he TOOK the time to actually explain what the numbers mean on my tax forms, which numbers cancel out and how I can better understand my income tax data. I mean in a nutshell I had a taxes for dummies lesson without even knowing it! Excellent!
2. Next, I brought in what chicken scratch calculations from «itemizing» stuff like mileage to school and back and expenses, and also my 1098 T’s from my tuition. He told me I would have to do the regular 1040 instead of a 1040EZ (which would’ve been free according to the promo if done before ²⁄₁₅); on top of that I would have to pay for the other two forms for itemizing, and for college tuition. He didn’t rush me or try to sell me into or out of it, Ed just worked the numbers with me and tried to get me above the standard itemization stuff. Typical so far for any H&R block person to do, since my costs were already at about $ 220+ for this visit. I mentioned that «wow, it’s getting up there, and I still wanna get my ‘Piece of Mind’ thing each preparer before sold me on,» (because I had a bad year when I really needed to get help). HERE’s where Integrity meets experience!
3. Ed L told me that my taxes were not complex enough this year and if I really needed help I can just come back in «We’re open year around,» and he would personally help me out. Now that’s guaranteeing your work! I saved $ 34 because the man had pride in his work! Awesome.
4. After about 20 minutes or so playing around with the numbers I brought in, I asked, «So how would this affect my taxes if I didn’t need to claim it?» Afraid as I was to create any IRS ripples, I was hesitant to NOT claim or file or ommit any little thing. BUT Ed then went back and we started over quickly calculating the numbers if I didn’t file the other tax forms and how much it would actually impact my Federal returns. That was like «HAZZAH! I get it now!» Not all things need to be itemized ESPECIALLY since I’m a single filer and NOT a homeowner! OMG nobody ever explained this in a simple way to me!
5. Final note, end result, Ed L. made $ 39 (for H&R Block) on my visit that day. And in the long run actually KEPT more for my Federal return! The man saw me out the door with a big smile, and reminded me he would be there next year and all year around if I had any questions or concerns! Quite honestly, I came out of there saying to myself, «All this time! and money!»
So yeah, approach the man nicely, AND take time to listen to what he’s saying and doing! Go see Ed L. I am really grateful experienced, honest people like that are still around.
