These guys know laptops!

My computer has physical damages — so I was looking to get a quote. I spoke with Michael and he was very helpful. He provided me estimates in the same day, broke down each pricing, and gave me his personal opinion as well. I did not end up fixing my laptop because the costs were too high and it was better for me to purchase a new computer instead. He also mentioned that I was better off spending that money purchasing a new laptop.
I sincerely value their opinion, because it shows that they are not just trying to make money — but also consider my interests.
I will definitely be coming here in the future for any laptop issues.

My Laptop totally Crashed… didn’t power up… I tried everything to at least get it turned on.
As soon as you walk in their location looks very professional and organized.
They looked at my computer, wrote up a ticket and said they’d check it out.
First thing the next morning I get a call and they told me my computer is fixed and to come in to pick it up… WOW!
I totally thought I needed a new computer and they saved the day.

I can’t say enough good things about The Notebook Shop. I’ve had various computers over the years and have always gone to them for repairs, but they no longer have a location near me.
Recently, my computer completely crashed– just as I was set to travel for a few weeks!
Honestly, the Cerritos location is no where near me. But, they told me to bring it in for them to look at it. When they saw it, they knew it would be a big task to get it working again. I was panicked, but they talked me OUT of buying a new laptop (I could not have gotten on my flight without one), and they worked a miracle to get it fixed for me– finishing just hours before my flight.
They’re honest & fair. And their work, as well as their prices, are exceptional.
Again, Cerritos is not close to me. I had to drive an hour and a half each way to drop off my laptop and pick it up. And after 6 hours in drive-​time traffic, all I can say is… it was worth it!
I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Brought my laptop in. I forgot my Admin pasaword. Bryan was able to get into my Admin account keep all my files! Not only was he able to get into my account, he went the extra mile and created another account and even transferred all my data over. I am extremely satisfied with Bryan and the Notebook Shop. I will definitely recommend this shop to anyone with computer issues.

I was looking for a place to get my 5 year old laptop fixed and I thought I’d give them a try because I live in Cerritos and their location was convenient. It turned out my battery was going bad. Since I always keep my laptop plugged in they told me just to leave it out which took care of my problem. It was also running slow so they recommended I bring it in sometime so they could run some diagnostics on it and delete whatever malware they found. So I dropped it off one day after work and was able to to pick it up the next day. For only $ 75 they got rid of over 150 malware, deleted a bunch of cookies, did a defrag and some other stuff (I’m not a techie so I don’t remember it all). They also recommended a couple of great ad ons (ad block and ghostery).
I saw Michael the first visit and Andy the 2nd. They were both really helpful. I will definitely recommend them to others and will go back if I need additional repairs or to buy my next laptop. So glad they are nearby!

My sibling also got a laptop here recently. We had to come in three times to get the same problem fixed. And it was a NEW laptop too. Does this place not sell any new laptops or what?
And although when I asked about if I can get a Windows 7 laptop I was not offered one, my sibling got one with that. So I am currently using mine with 8.1…it’s still kind of inconvenient and I just think it wasn’t fair that they did not offer the same options for me. They could’ve told me that they were planning to restock more on 7 laptops or something … I don’t know what kind of service I’ll get here anymore.

This place is great! My clumsy bf spilled water all over his laptop and there wasn’t any way for us to turn it on, so we decided to set it aside (Literally forgotten about it) until he needed documents from his laptop after about 6 months. We called the shop requesting for a quote to extract data from the laptop and it was a fair price. There wasn’t any additional fees/​hidden charges, just a flat rate. So we decided to check this place out and I’m glad we did. The process was quick and simple! Dropped off the laptop, the worker stated that it will be ready in 24hours (GREAT!). Filled out a quick little form with our information and we were all set!
Picked up our laptop with all of our data in less than 24 hours. PERFECTO!

The staff at the Notebookshop is always helpful as well. I dropped by to ask a question about a laptop I purchased from them five years ago. I expected to be pushed and prodded into buying a new one but the person who assisted me gave me very helpful advice on how to proceed to get a replacement part for my old laptop. The advice worked too. Nowadays, it is hard to believe a place would pass on a sale and recommend replacing a part instead and make no money off the deal as well. Commendable. When my laptop finally dies, I am going to the Notebookshop to buy another one.

I had a HP laptop and the screen cracked so I bought a new one. The person who initially installed it left the cable a little loose; so it would flicker on and off. Long story short, they gave it back to me after charging me over $ 100.00 and the laptop worked for 1 day or so, and after that completely crashed and didn’t work at all. I don’t know what to say but I’m definitely not satisfied.

I decided to go in to Notebookshop when my computer HAD to be upgraded. Andy at the LA store (Wilshire/​Western) gave me a patient tour of their laptops. He was friendly and so knowledgeable about transferring my favorite programs, I felt confident I get the right one for me. I got a fair deal on an amazing computer. Plus, when I accidentally downloaded malware a few days later, I rushed it in and it was scrubbed off.
This place has a small business feel, with employees that are invested in their product, which is amazing service as well as great computers.

My husband’s laptop wouldn’t turn on at all, so we brought it into the Notebook Shop. They called to say that it would cost $ 400 to repair the laptop due to a bad motherboard. We decided not to repair and just paid $ 50 to diagnose and transfer files to an external hard drive. We stopped by with an external hard drive and was told the «technician» wasn’t in on a Saturday afternoon, so we had to come back another day. Mm. not sure why you would need a technician to drag files to a hard drive, but ok. My husband came back with the external hard drive on another day, they transferred the files, and he brought the laptop home. My husband detached all the connections to the motherboard, reapplied them, and now the laptop works fine. We’re disappointed with the service and misdiagnosis we received at the Notebook Shop and will not be returning here.
