The café food is fantastic, very big portion. They gave me free iced coffee/tea drink. 好棒!

What a joke! Went on a Friday at about 4p with my family. Parking lot was empty. No hostess or personnel to be found inside. We were patient to look around the big place. To the left is the banquet style seating and to the right a small café style. We walked into the café section and found two employees sleeping on the booth opposite ends of the café. I said«excuse me» many times and louder each time but neither men woke up. My husband was at the door wanting to leave but I wanted to wake them up. Finally, the one closest to us finally woke up(was in and out of sleep). I think he thought he was dreaming. He took his sweet time getting and once up, he didn’t respond to me or anything but just started walking around looking for someone to help us. By the way, the other employee was still laid out on the long booth at the opposite end of the café snoring away. He was able to find a female hostess(English was not that good) and she then walked us to the banquet section to our seats. The décor was more that dated! Seat covers were filthy. We were the ONLY customers in there(4) in a huge, high ceiling room. Food was OMG horrible! Chicken was uncooked, other plates we ordered had no taste & bland. Can’t believe we paid $ 45 for them. My husband was outraged and said it was the worst place he’d ever went to.

I love dim sum. I don’t discriminate either– I love both high end and street dim sum. this place has decent dim sum at an average restaurant price(~10/pp) the service is what you’d expect from a Chinese dim sum restaurant. it’s pushy when they ask you if you want this or that or another thing that you don’t want off the carts and then pretty much nonexistent afterwards. a service style I’ve grown to love. but it gets 2 stars today because j found 2 flies in my soy sauce. which is gross. didn’t care to complain though because if you’ve ever been to an authentic Chinese restaurant you already know service is eh so they probably wouldn’t be too concerned about it. who knows though. I just switched my bottle out with another table, took a plate off the other table as well and hoped that there were no more dead flies in the soy sauce.

My family and I went here for Mother’s Day. It was very popular and we had to wait about 20 minutes. We were seated in the bar area where there was a few tables. The only good part about this was that it was quite;however, the service was lacking. We had to ask our waitress to have the dim sum carts pass by and we had to ask her multiple times for a certain item. The food was good and pricey. I would go here again for occasions only.

Came to Royal Garden after a recommendation from a friend who is local there and said its the best in the Cerritos area. The restaurant really high ceilings which I think is pretty awesome and something you don’t see at any other restaurants. We got there at 1:30pm on a Saturday and got seated right away. The dim sum overall is just okay. It wasn’t as hot as I would like but I think thats because the ladies are constantly opening the dishes to show people what they have. We had them make us a fresh shrimp Cheung Fun and egg tarts and those 2 things were def. the best. Spare ribs are decent. The turnip cake was a little too mushy and the rice rolls weren’t cooked well.

The dim sum here is a little worse than mediocre and I’ve had way better in Rowland Heights and Monterey Park. I just come here because my mom lives in Cerritos so it’s convenient when she wants to eat dim sum and she really likes the tripe and tendon. Plus there’s really no good dimsum restaurants in Cerritos. My problem is that all the food is premade and comes out on carts, so all the dishes we got except two weren’t even warm. And the shrimp is so dry from sitting and steaming in the baskets forever. we went on a weekend where it was actually busy and the food still wasn’t hot and fresh. Our service was actually pretty decent for a Chinese place. They were super fast bringing out anything that we asked for. Paid about $ 50 for 3 people. Not expensive but not cheap, pretty average price and average food.

First of all service was horrendous! This dinner was a scam! $ 600 for a few measly dishes of lobster, Peking duck and chicken… The Peking duck served was cut to pieces so as to shortchange us on the entire duck. It looked like half a duck than the whole duck we paid for. The seafood soup tasted like mouthfuls of cornstarch with seafood bouillon. I was sitting with the waiters coming up from behind me and I heard, «excuse me» coming from my right side. I moved left to give her some space to put down the dish and she came from my left resulting in my head colliding into her chest ! Ugh Just unprofessional and left a bad taste literally and figuratively in our mouths!

Came here on a Sunday around noon. There didn’t seem to be a lot of people but was told that there was a 15 – 20 minute wait. ShareTea was right next to it, so we walked over to get drinks. When we came back, the guy in the front was like«Where have you been?! We called you a long time ago.» in a tone that kind of seemed like yelling. No bueno. If you’re going to quote us 15 minutes to wait, please don’t say that. Correctly quote us a wait time. I know this isn’t Rowland Heights or Monterey Park, but I feel that the Dim Sum could have been much better. Everything that I tried was a little below average, except for the Shrimp Dumpling things, but how can you really mess that up. It was extremely to communicate with the ladies pushing the carts because they barely speak any English. Most Dim Sum places I have been to have better speaking English people than here. The service was definitely not there. When I asked for hot sauce or the check, they do not even really stop to acknowledge that they heard you and it seems really rude. I would definitely try another place for dim sum. Heck, I would even drive further to have it anywhere but here.

I’m not really a huge fan of dim sum so I don’t really know what to expect. I believe this was my 2nd time trying dim sum in my life. Food: Most of the tin can foods were cold which wasn’t ideally how I liked my meals and couldn’t really find a favorite out of the few dishes I have pictured. Service: According to my friend all dim sum places are notorious for having pretty bad service and I can’t say any different for this location. The waiters/waitresses almost seem like they are barking at you(maybe its the language barrier) when you ask for something or ask a question and most don’t know how to speak english. $ 30 for 3 for a «quick» bite is not bad but I would much rather spend my money at McDonalds. Passerino and would definitely like a dim sum place to enlighten my taste buds so any requests would be great! :D

This is my favorite din sum place in Cerritos. However, waiting for a to-go order took more than 30 minutes! The place wasn’t as packed as it’s almost 2pm but the wait time was just bad. Will probably dine in next time I have a craving for dim sum

We come here for dim sum average once a month and we are pretty happy with the dim sum selections and food quality. We are greeted by front desk every time. The ladies pushing the carts are generally nice and take the time to introduce what’s in each dish. The gentlemen who bring tea and silverware could be more courteous. I like the high ceiling and that it’s spacious. It’s got underground parking and an elevator that goes directly into the restaurant — it’s senior and handicap friendly. Price is considered reasonable(average $ 10/person for us).

So after missing out on having this place for our wedding banquet October 2014 we tried this place for the first time on December 27th for dinner after«Amber L.» said she got food poisoning. Her and/or her friend must have poor hygene because we didn’t get sick. Wash your hand Amber! Haha, just kidding. I heard that restaurants that«close for renovations or a fire» actually got shutdown for health inspections. Check it yo! It was half full when we got there and service was really slow. There was a party taking up 1⁄3rd of the downstairs. The server tried hard to get the food to us and he was doing his best. You should probably blame management for not having enough staff. There is only so much they could do. The staff are busting @ss and service is still slow? Blame management for not having enough staff. Towards the end of our meal waiting 20min. for dessert the restaurant was completely full with the same number of workers. Glad we went early. The food was mediocre to average. Most of our dishes were average. The taro paste dessert was the best part. Good thing we didn’t have our wedding banquet here. Food would have tasted the same as our backup, Sea Empress(Cerritos). It would have a nicer atmosphere but service would have been poor. Service at Sea Empress is impeccable.

Way too expensive. 3 persons $ 50 dimsum. They even charge tea and each time you refill it. Food was ok. I am not sure if it’s worth coming back. There are ither places for $ 30, you can feed a party of 3.

Very good Chinese family style and banquet place. The fresh fish of the day, Rock Cod, was outstanding. Wow, one of the best fishes I’ve ever eaten in my life! The French style beef was very good. The scallop fried rice looked nasty and could have used some color like more egg and peas. Dining room had an unusually 3 story high ceiling. Looked like Bellagio on an Ikea budget. Service was kinda goofy — asked for Heinken Light and brought out a Bud Light and brought out 2 tabs for us to pay? Also brought out another table’s doggie bags to our table. Nice big parking lot and garage structure for no sweat parking.

surprised me that dim sum and service here were both decent. I was one of the first people here at 10am for dim sum. They sat me without my full party. Seeing that I was alone, they did not ignore me until my party came, but asked if I wanted to start with anything. It was done nicely and not overly annoying or pushing for me to order things. When my full party came, the dim sum carts started rolling! They have some pretty good options, some of which I have not seen in a lot of dim sum places in forever! O shrimp balls rolled in glutinous rice… fried shrimp balls with sugar cane. overall dim sum here is decent and affordable. come here for the high ceilings, the wide dining space, and ladies rolling their dim sum carts with very poor english.

I have been to this location a few times and the experience has always been pleasant. Parking can be a bit tedious since the restaurant front shares a small lot with the bank across. However, they do have an underground parking extension to the left hand side after entering the plaza. The restaurant was recently re-modeled due a fire some time ago. The interior décor and presentation is fancy for a dim sum place. Their dim dum is piping hot and have ample of choices. I do not find myself having extreme thirst(after effects of MSG) after I eat here which is always a plus. I have also had many of their a la carte items which all are well flavored, decent portion size and reasonable pricing. I will continue to visit this place for my dim sum and Cantonese entrée needs.

I was going to give 3 stars or not review, but a few hours later, both my friend and I seem to be coming down with food poisoning. Turns out it’s not only the restaurant itself that’s dirty, but the food too.

It’s been so long I came to this place when my family used to come for Dim Sum on the weekends all the time then stop coming when the Dim Sum just wasn’t as good. Some of the items we got weren’t warm or hot enough when we ate it. The egg custard tart was fresh and hot when it got served to us so it tasted delicious when that’s the best way to eat it. The Dim Sum was ok if they warm up the food more it would have tasted way better. The ambiance is pretty with crystal chandeliers on the high ceilings and Chinese accents like the koi pond. Parking is limited on the upper level so you may have to do underground parking then take the elevator when that may be a lot safer than hiking up to the upper level.

Met some friends here for dimsum. I hadn’t been here in ages, but used to come regularly back when I lived in Cerritos. The décor here stands out with the wooden panels, high ceilings, and chandeliers. There was no wait for our party of four. Service wasn’t as bad as some other Unilocal reviews say, but it probably helps that we had Chinese-speaking patrons in our group(including myself). Pretty standard dimsum offerings, and not a bad spread for a weekday lunch. Food was hot, fresh, and tasty, and the price was very competitive(turned out to be about $ 10 per person for our group of four, which was much less than we were expecting). I thought everything was great! While I’ve had better dimsum in the San Gabriel Valley, this was far superior to what I’ve been having in Richmond, VA.

What can I say this place has been here forever the name just keeps changing… sometimes the owner changes but the place remains… Food is mediocre at best… Nothing to write home about… I don’t choose to come here but if others want to meet up here sure why not… Service is okay… I don’t expect much during Dim Sum hours and dinner time they seem to be pretty decent…

I went for dim sum on a Saturday 11:30am with no lines. The décor is nice and looks elegant. We were seated right away and all the carts swarmed to my table. The staff speak English which is nice to offer including the cart ladies. They have shu Mai, har gow, custard tarts, bean curd noodle, bbq pork wrapped rice noodle, shrimp wrapped rice noodle, steam bbq pork buns, baked bbq buns, pineapple buns w/custard, and other items. They are very good on refills of water. Parking is available on lot.

Came here twice: once for dim sum, and another for a wedding. Both times, service has been subpar, even more so than what I’ve experienced at similar places. Food has been good, but the lack of any smile or so much as a «hello» or a second glance leaves a sour taste in my mouth. But if you’re looking for a wedding venue and don’t really care about the service, this place is a decent size, and has decent acoustics. They have a huge projector and screen, but a tiny dance floor.

Pros: Decent(but not great) dim sum without driving to Chinatown. Elegant atmosphere. Cons: Food only OK, could do better. Dim sum servers don’t speak English that well. Came here with a guest from the Midwest. My guest doesn’t live in a big city, so I get to expose him to a lot of different experiences, and this time it was dim sum. Royal Garden is your typical dim sum dining experience. Men and women who don’t know English that well roll the carts up with traditional dim sum, including items like chicken feet. The food tastes OK, but driving to Chinatown is still a consideration because it doesn’t taste great. A few dishes had meat that tasted a bit fatty or cheap. Some of the doughs, though, were somewhat fluffy and nicely sweet. It was hit or miss. Not typical for all dim sum restaurants was the elegant décor. We ate in one large room with high ceilings and chandeliers. A good area for parties or corporate events. Overall I think I’ll look for someplace else if I want dim sum again. But I’m satisfied and feel my friend got a good idea of what dim sum dining is.

When this restaurant finally reopened after their renovation I was ecstatic because it was the best dimsum place in Cerritos. Much to my dismay I retract my statement because now even after their renovation and re-grand opening, it has become the worst place to eat. Terrible customer service and long waiting time for food. Food is incredibly salty and just wrong. They charge you for the stupidest things like rice when you ordered an entrée. How do we eat your salty entrée without rice?! And you charge for it? No more royal garden. Don’t even bother with this place and there’s no need for a second chance, not even a second glance. ZERO stars.

Me and my friends come here when we’ve got a dim sum itch that needs to be scratched(and we’re in the area) or we’re just trying to grab a quick lunch. Service is typical of a dim sum restaurant… you have ladies trying to sell you on everything down to the lint off their shirts. We almost rarely get refills on water when we need it. Food isn’t bad. It’s nothing mind-blowing…it’ll do. Their egg tarts are on another level though… YUM! Tons of parking, large space

This used to be Prince Seafood Restaurant, but after they recently renovated it’s now known as Royal Garden. We usually only come here for the dim sum. Pretty standard dim sum fare. Compared to other dim sum places though, they didn’t have many choices on the weekday that we visited. But they had all the ones that we wanted: har gao(steamed shrimp dumplings), shiu mai(pork and shrimp dumplings), char shiu bao(bbq pork buns), steamed rice with bits of assorted meats in large tea leaves, and shrimp rolls(shrimp in large noodles with a sweet soy sauce). All our food tasted good. The rice was especially tasty — nice and sticky with lots of meat throughout and nice tea leaf flavor imparted throughout. Service here has always been on the ok to poor side. On this particular visit our service was bad. One waiter who was helping us barked at me after I had to ask him a second time for ice water, and he basically threw things down whenever he brought anything to our table. Also, many of the cart ladies do not speak English, so unless you know the Chinese names, you can just point whenever they open a steam tray that you want. Prices are ok, not a bargain, and not excessive. Our 5 dim sum dishes and tea(can’t believe they charge for hot tea — minus a half star) with tax came out to $ 20 and change. Parking is good as there is an underground lot underneath. Overall, the food is decent so we’ll likely be back.

This is a review for the HK style café located on the opposite side of the main dining area. When we first walked into the café, it was completely empty. There wasn’t even any employees staffing the café. Looking back, we should have taken that as a sign and left. My mom had to walk to the other side of the restaurant to tell the workers we needed help. Minus points there for service. As part of their grand opening promotion, any entrée comes with a free drink(iced lemon tea or soft drink) and soup. The iced tea and soup were seriously the only decent tasting items we ate last night. For my meal, I ordered the sliced beef porridge. It was way too watery and had absolutely no taste. It’s as if they added water to the porridge to make it look like a larger amount of food. I asked the waitress for salt and pepper and doused my porridge with seasoning. But no amount of salt could have made this dish any better. I tried some of my boyfriend’s baked seafood with spaghetti which also tasted very bland. I don’t know if the chef that day had a cold that night or maybe lost all his taste buds but nothing tasted right. My mom ordered the pork chop dinner which was just okay. It definitely was not up to par with the quality you get from Garden Café in Rowland Heights. Overall it was a horrible dining experience and I don’t think I will ever go back.

EGGMF’INTARTS. THEYAREPIECESOFBUTTERYGOODNESS. Perfect to have for dessert or in between plates. Their dim sum hits the spot, but it’s nothing top notch. Service is usually poor but today they were on top of it. Our water glasses were never empty and our tea was refilled before we even had to ask. Our top faves here are the har gow, shumai, spare ribs, and the chicken feet.
