Seafood Bucket

My rating would be a 3.5, but it’s definitely more on the 4 than 3 side.
I recommend the Cajun boiling set! $ 11.99 for ½ lb shrimp, ½ lb mussels, corn, potatoes, and rice! The sauce is really flavorful but has chunks of garlic, so it may not necessarily be a first date kind of place. They have other cool sauce options too, like Thai flavored. Also order a side of Cajun fries and a green milk tea. They seasonally have fried soft shell crab (which comes with fries) that’s really yummy, but definitely serves as a side more than a main course because of its lack of «pizazz». Only drawback is that service can be pretty slow, even when there’s barely anyone eating there. It’s definitely a suitable alternative to boiling crab, without the awful wait.

I’m not sure why there are such bad reviews. I am going to assume it was because the restaurant was very new at the time they were written. I always say let a place get into the groove — learn from their mistakes, and THEN –go again.
A co-​worker told me about this place, and my family came last week on my birthday and had a terrific experience. We drove over from Huntington Beach, and had no regrets at all. In fact, I am SURE we will come back from time to time.
I feel like some people compare one place to another place, and not to itself. This is not Boiling Crab. It is Seafood Bucket. It is a very spacious, clean, family friendly dining experience with super nice wait service, and delicious food. (As of 4 days ago)
My 2 middle school daughters who must always mind their manners when dining absolutely LOVED the opportunity to dig in and get grimy. They loved chucking emptied shells onto the table, and using their hands. One daughter said it was the best corn she had ever eaten — both loved the crab legs, but the squeamish one had an issue with the shrimp faces. ;)
My favorite item was the crab legs, but we had the combo and enjoyed it very much. We just needed that extra pound of crab. We selected to use ALL THREE sauces, rather than just one, and I highly recommend this way of seasoning your seafood. It was absolutely delicious. I appreciated our server for suggesting it. She was very clear about how spicy we wanted to make it — repeated and re-​confirming it with us. Perhaps they took to heart some of the past reviews.
By the way — our service was extremely genuine and friendly. Both girls who came to our table were engaged and wanted us to have a good experience. When they learned it was my birthday — they asked what sort of music I enjoy — and POOF — James Taylor was playing on the speakers.
Our server had to assure my kids that it was not only okay to get dirty, but to go ahead and make a mess — she would «enjoy cleaning it up later». Her words.
All in all — for what it is — family dining — NOT fine dining — casual, relaxed and friendly with heartfelt service and really tasty food — I can’t find fault, and refuse to look for it. I simply enjoy a mom & pop effort.
One last note — they have not got a liquor license yet — so be patient.
