Ed Voyles Kia of Chamblee

Their used car pricing is fair and they seem genuinely interested in earning your business. I bought my 2012 Sportage from them a year ago and I inquired at at least a dozen other dealerships for deals on similar vehicles. None of them came even close to Ed Voyles Kia Chamblee. In another year I will be ready to buy again and I trust they will make me another great deal. Their service dept. is excellent as well.

Seriously incredible service. I got a flat tire and Joe Triola really helped me out. He found a tire for me within a half and hour. Had me back on the road in under an hour.

I good female friend of mine took in her leased auto to attempt to remove a consigner off the lease. Instead, they sold the car to her and financed this two year old car for six years. The rate was low at 6%, but the sales price was ridiculous, even taking into account the cost to break the lease. I won’t go into all the details here. Bottom line is she was not clear on the details, informed the salesperson she didn’t feel confortable, but ultimately was pushed into the deal. A really bad deal. An eight year payout on a car! But hey, that’s the car business and to be objective the responsibility falls on her.
I took an immediate trip to the dealer and requested a meeting with the GM. Instead the salesman, JB met with us and refused to do anything. However, ultimately, they changed their mind and tore up the contract. It took some stern discussion, but I have to give credit to this dealership for making the right moral decision. I’m pretty sure most would say tough $&@@. I went with 4 stars since most dealers would have done the same Strong arm sales tactics, but I’ll assume many would not reverse a signed deal. Arguably, five stars may not be out of question, but the strong arming upfront negates that.

The finance manager Andre (or whatever he is) is one of the rudest people I’ve dealt with in some time. Better customer service is needed!

Don’t Do it! Lock Your credit. Don’t sign anything
It’s your typical car salesman experience. Lies from the second you walk in the door when a rep, in my case Nick Callum, shakes your hand and says «I’m not like the rest of’em, I’m going to be straightforward with you» (sigh)
The short version: I liked the Kia soul, decided to buy it. I considered financing with them so I gave them my credit info. big mistake! They first ran 2 hard hits against my credit, and told me my credit score was 100 points lower than it was with Equifax. So I told them I don’t want to finance with you. 2 weeks later I get an alert that 4 additional hard hits have been run against my credit. Nick apologized, then later changed his mind (probably after speaking to his boss Frank Sobeck who ran the credit hits) and said I agreed to finance with them and that’s why they ran the hits to give a better offer. despite the fact that I didn’t sign any form of agreement and I explicitly said «No, I do not want to finance with you. I’m seeking other options»
So after 4 back and forth trips and having already put the labor into it. I buy the car (of course with a different creditor who gave me a 2.5% interest rate in comparison to their 8%+). They forget about a safety recall issue in the car that needs to be fixed, I have to point it out to them. Then until now, 2+ months after buying the car I still don’t have a license plate. and the ownership of the car isn’t yet in my and my creditor’s name. Now months later with «Test Drive» as a license plate I am regularly pulled over by police officers thinking that I stole the car. And of course instead of being embarrassed by their lack of professionalism. Ed Voyles Kia of Chamblee just shrugs and blames the state for it. not recognizing their laziness in taking care of this ownership issue before selling the car to customers.
So what I’ve learned:
1. Don’t go to Ed Voyles Kia of Chamblee. and if this is the type of dealer Kia works with. don’t buy KIA
2. Lock your credit. Federal law works against you, they can run your credit without your permission if they have your info and the law won’t do anything to protect you.
3. Go to Carmax, I hear it’s straightforward there. No car salesman type reps
People to watch out for at Ed Voyles Kia of Chamblee and reasons:
Nick Callum: (see above) + tried to tell me that Kelly Blue Book prices only apply to west coast cars. So that justified raising the price of a used 2013 Kia Soul to it’s brand new price. and then gave me an Ed Voyles Kia of Chamblee special discount on it. which turned out to be a little over the actual price
Frank Sobeck: Is the one who ran 6 hard hits against my credit without my permission, and used a credit score 100 points lower than my Equifax score to earn more interest. Then didn’t follow through with withdrawing the credit inquiries, even after I provided him step by step instructions via an Equifax contact
Michael Orcutt (financial) — Was the rudest and most condescending of them all, he refused to send more than an email to withdraw the inquiries (w/​out mentioning that this was done without my permission which would have gotten banks scurrying to get this taken care of). Then I discovered his lack of action was due to his belief that these 6 hard hits would come off my record a month after purchase, and he sent me many articles to prove it. 2+ months later the 6 hits are still on my record, and won’t be removed until 2017 according to Equifax.
Final statements:
B/​c of this experience, though I love my Kia car, I do not plan to ever buy a Kia again. Dear Kia, deal with better reps. It reflects on you.
Again, lock your credit, don’t sign anything with them. and finally Go to carmax! I learned my lesson the hard way, I hope you don’t

Dealt with Antonio. Worst sales person ever. When he couldn’t find the vehicle we wanted, we chose to look elsewhere, and he texted us saying that he worked so hard and had to support his family. So inappropriate!

they kept me for over four hours trying to negotiate. by this tme I was way late for my job. I had set aside three hours to purchase a car and figured this was reasonable. I was told the car came with three different warranties, all of which sounded great. when we agreed on a price I was rushed into financing and told to sign papers without any explanation of what was happening. Now I get home and its time to pay my first bill. I have a charges for $ 6000 more than what we agreed upon and no where did it say that I had already paid $ 2000 upfront, the prices were unchanged. I guess the sales guy doesn’t know anything about warranties now, but when he was selling it to me he sure knew plenty. Evidently it only comes with one warranty unless I pay $ 4298 for 72K «five star maintenance”(oil changes, and general maintenance). I have never paid more than a few hundered a year for oil changes and rotations, and fuel changes/​upkeep, etc. what this says to me is that you think I will spend more than this amount in the first 72 thousand miles on car maintenence. This is outrageous. The way they manipulate their customers is sickening. And I signed off on everything unknowingly. They do this on purpose. Keep you there waiting on and on, lie about pricing, and when he went to fill up my gas as a courtesy he took more than a half hour. I mean, what are you doing in my car, man? REally gut wrenching experience. I knew I should have set aside more time, or figured out another way to get a car. Please don’t go here. I wont name the employees who handled me because he was trying to charm me talking about his wife and what-​not, although now I feel like his whole presence was a huge lie and they are laughing it up enjoying how they just made off like bandits with my hard earned cash. Sorry guys, zero stars. Is there any dealership who will actually be upfront about pricing? why does it have to be this way? they literally robbed me of −6−8 grand

Great staff. This was my 1^st visit their. They told me everything I needed to know about my KIA. I will definitely be back.

This is the only Kia dealership I will go to because of Joe Triola in service. He has impeccable customer service and gives it to you straight. He is someone I am confident to say I trust his opinion. I find this rare in the car industry.

Got the first service on my Optima done here and the service was excellent. I didn’t purchase my car here but I’ll be going back for any service my car needs. Great job and keep it up guys! Thanks!
By the way, I realized the day after getting my car serviced that I brought it in a day earlier than my appointment when my reminder in my phone went off. I had the Friday off and thought it was Saturday. Oops! But you guys said nothing. Thanks.

If you are buying a car ask for Jonathan Bradley. Really good guy. Not the traditional experience where sales guys try to advantage of you. VERY easy transaction w/​none of the run around.

Did not buy my car here but have it serviced here and the folks are way nice, very courteous, have always delivered on time and been on top of recalls, repairs and such. They have a nice waiting area with plugpoints and wifi to work and even coffee and tea available. The husband bought his car here literally during the last hours of 2013 and the staff were very helpful in working with him on a good deal for his trade-​in. Recommend them anytime.

I dealt with a Mr. Sam Rainey was perfect! Would highly recommend to anyone that wants a car but has poor credit.

I purchased my KIA from another dealership in the area but this location is much closer to where I live. I’ve gotten all my service issues done here. They have been real good about getting me in on short notice and I’ve never felt that the price was inflated and even they have helped me control the cost.

As a female, it’s already hard to gain the respect of a conceded dealer. Unfortunately, for them, I know a enough about how to service my own car to know that a) it does not take 1 hour to replace the oil even if there are a few people ahead of you, b) maybe a mechanic should actually listen to what you think is the problem because you are the person who drives YOUR car everyday, and c) a condescending tone towards a customer helps you lose that customer. This dealership has a high employee turn over rate and I will not be returning for any type of service. Why do dealerships charge at least 20−40% higher than average auto shops for service? It’s a dealership, shouldn’t they want you to be a returning customer and spend money with them?

Don’t get your car serviced at this Kia location! Horrible service! Especially if you’re a female!
I wish there were negative stars! I went there only to get my tires rotated and they told me the wait would be 40 minutes. So I questioned why would it take 40 minutes to change my front tires to the back and back tires to the front? That only takes like 8 minutes, right? The guy told me that they also perform a safety inspection and that inspection is for my benefit as well as their benefit. So I said «Okay» and waited in the waiting area.
After 45 minutes of waiting and no one said anything about my car being ready, I went back there to ask if my car was ready and the guy went to check and told me it would be another 40 minutes! I said «I just waited 45 minutes and I’m only getting a tire rotation» So he went back there to check again and said that he told them to go ahead and rotate my tires and not to do the safety inspection. I told him that I wanted the safety inspection, because it came with the service that I’m paying for anyway. He also told me that my car is up in the air and they are working on it now… That was not true because I actually stood at the window and saw with my own eyes that my car was not in the air and they didn’t even start on my car yet.
So someone saw me looking out the window and quickly lifted my car up and rotated the tires. After they finished, I guess they ran my car through some water and brought it around to the front. So I went in the office to sign some papers and I ask the guy if they performed the safety inspection thats included in every Kia service? He said «No, you told them not to.» I said «No, I didn’t tell them not to, I was only checking to see if my car was ready because it was taking a long time». Then he made up a story saying that the mechanics looked over my car and didn’t find anything. I said «Sir, they didn’t look over anything because I stood there and saw them.» So he went outside and lifted my hood, and I think he checked the oil and break fluid and looked at the tires and came back inside and said «Everything looks fine.» I asked him does Kia only do a 10 point inspection? And he said «No, we do a 27 point inspection». (At that point, I guess he knew I wasn’t just a girl who didn’t know about cars and what he did was not a 27 point inspection.)
I was so angry that they did a half a** job on my car! If I wanted poor service I would have went to a shade tree mechanic! I come to the dealership because I am expecting the best service and this Kia dealership let me down. I guess I have to go to Kia Mall of GA where I originally bought my car even though thats like a 45 minute drive. I bet if I was a man, my experience would have been very different. I will contact corporate to see if I can get a full inspection on my car of which this dealership did not do!

I have actively directed my friends AWAY from this dealership. I would never, ever purchase from them again. I WILL say that I am a huge fan of Kia now. I ended up with an Amanti and enjoy it a great deal.
Our visit started with no sales people on the floor at 1 or so in the afternoon. My husband works 2 jobs. I had done the research and we were there to buy. Eventually I found a receptionist (nice) who paged a salesman to the floor. He muttered something about sales being in a meeting. Pleasant enough, he was useless. It was his first week. He could answer no questions and seemed clueless as to how to get the answers for us. I should have taken this as a warning. I did select a car I had seen online. We spent SEVEN hrs. trying to get this deal wrapped up. They were completely disrespectful of our time. We were never advised why this was. Yes, we should have left. This was our ONLY window to get this handled.
LONG, story short we did the paper work and took the car. Not once, not twice, but THREE times we were called back to the dealership to «sign a paper that you missed».Upon arriving back my husband was told our payments would go up and our warrenty shortened. The third time this happened I was out of town. I told my husband to give back the car. I was done. He went there. Was told the same bs about upping our payment for some non specific reason. My husband stated we were done and we would sign nothing else. We were ready to give the car back. A quick «let me talk to my manager» later and we were told nothing else was needed from us.
I have never written a review like this. I have no reason to misrepresent. I will do my best to make sure nobody has the same experience.
BUYER BEWARE! If a place will treat you like this when you are paying thousands of dollars, what do you think the follow up care will be? And in this economy??? Crazy to treat people that way. I regret not going to the chamblee Carmax. He and I had spoken by phone. My next kia will come from them. I think he name was Ray. Tell him I sent ya!

Briana came out in the cold cold cold weather and really took her time with me i looked at every suv on the lot she went got the keys let me take my time i never felt rushed went on a test drive really liked the suv i got we did all the paper work and felt very good about the deal i got i would say please go see Briana she is very good at what she does

After months of research and leaving MANY other Atlanta dealerships angry I was so pleased to buy a car from Glenn Stevenson. I called in from the website, and he bent over backwards to get me the exact car I wanted cheaper than anyone else in town. They even let me borrow a car for a couple of days while mine was being transferred from another dealership.
A few months later I thought something was wrong with my alignment and called in expecting to pay to have it checked. After expecting it (for free) one of the heads of the service department took me on a test drive to show me how they to tell when the alignment is off (there wasn’t anything wrong with it). They have great customer service– quick, curteous, and not condescending at all!
Highly recommended!

Nice guys that work here and they seem genuine. They also try to remember your name when they see you. Which is pretty rare I think for a dealership.
