Fetch! Pet Care

I just got back from a 6-​day vacation. I had hired Fetch to care for my three cats. It was pretty simple: they just had to feed them and change the litter boxes daily. Well, when I came home from my vacation, eager and anxious to see my precious darlings, one of my cats was GONE! I called Fetch and they assured me that their caregivers are trained to avoid letting cats escape and said they’d call the caregivers who’d been at the house the last couple days. Luckily after searching myself for 3 hours outside, I found my dear kitty! He indeed was outside and the pet sitter must have let him escape! I called and let them know I found him and Fetch said they were happy I found him and very sorry that happened, but didn’t even offer a refund. I asked if they thought a refund was reasonable and to their credit was told I could get a full refund (however, it’s too soon to report if/​when/​how this refund was received). After all that trauma of thinking I’d lost my boy forever, I felt really relieved, but soon thereafter I discovered my cat was covered with fleas! My cats already are given monthly Frontline flea & tick treatment and shouldn’t be getting fleas, but I assume being outside for over 50 hours straight rolling in the dirt exposed to thousands of fleas was enough to overcome the flea treatment. Now we will have to pay to have the entire house specially cleaned in addition to the stress and repulsion of being exposed to fleas. What a horrible experience!

I hired Fetch to care for our pets while we were away for a week. I was assured during our initial interview that the service providers would have no trouble caring for our multiple animals.
Unfortunately, that did not prove to be the case at all. It was a nightmare:
Our first day away I received a call informing me that my cat would not receive her time-​specific medications because the caregiver had run out of time.
On another occasion I was informed that my dogs were medicated at the wrong time.
When we arrived home from our trip, we found that expensive medications that have to be compounded were placed in the wrong container and had been dispensed after the mix-​up; resulting in a very dangerous situation for our cat, and a very expensive replacement of medications — the cost, of course, our own.
We also found that our chickens’ coop had not been cleaned (probably the entire week), and was embarrassingly filthy. I’m surprised there were no complaints from neighbors. Additionally, their three water dispensers were all growing algae from lack of being refreshed.
After I complained, I received one call apologizing and indicating that I would receive a partial refund – but of course, two weeks later, that hasn’t happened. We have, however, changed all the locks on our doors.
In short: If you like your animals at all, and wish to receive the services for which you’re paying, run away from these folks as fast as you can. Their inadequacies aren’t just disappointing, they are downright dangerous.

I had been using their services consistently for at least six months and during that time four different walkers were assigned to my dog. Unfortunately, I had to cancel their services because when I came home one day there was dog poop in five different spots in my apartment. This was extremely upsetting because in the 10 years that I’ve had my dog he has never done that, nor has he done it since. It really gave me the impression that there may have been some sort of abuse going on. It’s just too bad dogs can’t speak to tell us when something is wrong or someone has wronged them.

I tried them when I went on vacation, and they lost one of my dogs. Rather than accepting responsibility, they devoted their energy to finding some way to avoid responsibility. Thankfully, the dog was found, although I still don’t quite believe the story they told me. Once I made it clear that they would not be able to use the situation to extort more money from me, service was continued without an issue for the rest of the time I was gone. As upsetting as all of this was, they may have been able to salvage a business relationship by accepting responsibility and apologizing. Instead, they were (and continue to be) combative and rude. They tried to charge me for the time they spent finding and retrieving the dog they lost. Stay away from these people. There are too many good and professional options in the CU area to have to deal with them.

these guys are a class act. lauren came by to do a consult with us and meet our dogs when we first signed up. at first, i didn’t know if i would be too comfortable leaving not only a credit card number on file, but also a copy of my house key with a complete stranger… but after chatting with her, and talking with her about the service, i was at ease.
fetch has taken care of my two dogs several times over the year. one of my dogs, who is now deceased, was very «special needs». he was losing his vision. he had some dementia going on. he was also diabetic. (yeah, it sucks to get old.) the fetch crew were always good about making sure he was well taken care of, and if they weren’t sure about what he needed, they called or texted me right away. i felt like they really cared about him.
on their visits, they filled out forms letting me know how each pet did. they took pictures of my pups and texted me with an update. they even brought in my packages from ups that were sitting on the porch.
i seriously cannot recommend them highly enough. they put my mind completely at rest, knowing my pets are very well cared for in my absence.

This was mine and my husbands first time ever hiring a pet sitting service. We were a little nervous at first, because someone we didn’t know would be watching our cats. One of them is a special needs kitty and the other gets separation anxiety, but the service was spectacular and our anxieties were relieved.
Lauren was awesome. She not only stopped by to do a consult with our cats before we left town (she was very thorough and enthusiastic), but she kept us posted while we were away. I had a great phone conversation with her a week into our vacation on how to get the cats to play more. Also she sent photos of the cats. When we arrived home we had a full set of kitty report cards to read through. It was really fun reading about what our cats were up to and what their behavior was like with a stranger. Lastly, she left an awesome Christmas present for the cats, which they absolutely LOVED.
I would definitely recommend Fetch to others.

Kristen and Lauren are great. They took great care of my kitty every time I was out of town. I required them to cat sit at my place, and they were professional and loving to my cat. They provided written and graded reports about my cat during the sitting. I completely trusted them with my home when I was away.

Excellent service — very friendly and professional. I will definitely bring my Westie back!
