We specialize in Custom Sanding, Staining, Finishing, and Installations. We offer everything from traditional oil base finishes to Onsite UV Cured finishes. We also offer hundreds of different wood selections for all types of wood installation projects. We take extreme pride in our on time reliability and craftsmanship.

Established in 2005.

We have been proudly serving customers since 2005. We are a family owned and operated business. Our goal is to provide our customers with the best quality of products and craftsmanship.

Carl W.

Business Owner

Carl originally started doing hardwood flooring in 1993 in Austin TX. Throughout the 90’s he worked for two of the most elite flooring companies in the Austin area at that time. Then in 2001 he moved back to his home state in Minnesota. Over the next few years he worked for two of the biggest companies in the Twin Cities Metro area.

In 2005 is when he started Above & Beyond Hardwood Flooring. He successfully ran his business until early 2014. Then from there unfortunately made a business decision the led to the end of Above & Beyond Hardwood Flooring. Now Carl is very excited to bring you his services with his new company Carl’s Wood Flooring!

I set up an appointment with Carl for an estimate 1 week in advance. I changed my schedule to be available at the time he choose. He did not show up or bother to call to cancel the appointment. I would never hire him!

I’ll start by saying we waited 2 long years to address our wood floors because we thought the process would leave us with endless dust and no furniture for longer than we wanted. We waited 2 years too long because… Carl recently refinished our handscraped, hardwood floors and we couldn’t be happier! He schooled us on stain, polyurethane and curing. He introduced us to the UV finish which cures the floor immediately. Seriously, no more waiting days or weeks to replace your belongings! Carl also has a contact who will move your furniture, clean up the remaining dust and then replace your furniture. We adore the finished product! Don’t hesitate if you’re thinking about using this company, they’re top notch!

Unfortunately, my floor could not be sanded because it was too thin of a wood veneer.
We agreed to Carl doing a deep cleaning, and then refinishing the floors with an estimate of 2 — 3 days to complete the entire job.
The ugliness of the project began once Carl started cleaning.
I used a terrible, horrible product on my floor which was the problem. The floor took 5 times longer to clean than estimated.
The project ended after 5 days, and the floors came out beyond expectation after the concerns of the product used.
I HIGHLY, STRONGLY endorse Carl as he stood by his promise to deliver the best results possible since the sanding was not possible. I wish I could show photos in this review. It was transforming the difference in the floor.

My wife and I have worked with Carl and his crew twice now. The first time we had Carl refinish the reclaimed wood floors in half of our home. He did such a good job that we had Carl come back and install reclaimed wood floors throughout the rest of the house. He did an amazing job both times. He and his crew are very respectful, very honest, and very talented. It really was a pleasure working with Carl and we would highly recommend him to anyone interested in having work done on wood flooring.

Carl White and his son refinished our 50+ year old Oak wood floors. Not only did the floors turn out great but they were fast, clean, and very affordable. Carl also saved me from making a big mistake of using the wrong stain!
